Just from hearing the first few issues you described (sink stopper gunk, windows over kitchen sink showing water droplets, sponge marks on counter surfaces), it sounds like you have hard water. In time that will cause problems with your water heater, ice maker in freezer, anywhere water "sits". If you address the hard water problem now, it will extend life of water use appliances. As far as surfaces, clean with white vinegar. U tube and Pinterest have many recommendations for making homemade cleaning solutions that incorporate vinegar. My favorites combine Dawn liquid, vinegar and water in varying ratios depending on the cleaning job.
I had a glass top electric stove I used for 15 1/2 years and I used all my cookware with zero problems on it,from aluminum, titanium, anodized aluminum, porcelain enamel and even my cast iron. Cerama Brite glass top cleaner and after that length of time My glass top still looked brand new.
My mother in laws 2nd husband built her a custom home here in Colorado. He was a Mason and built fireplaces and such for people. That home will be sold soon as we have been busy clearing it out to sell. I'm glad to hear you are still loving your home along with all of your fur babies.
Sounds like a beautiful home! I can't imagine how much talent and hard work it must take to build a fireplace... just putting together my little brick retaining wall seemed hard. Thanks for stopping by... we are definitely still loving our little home here in AL.
Thank you! I'm glad it's helpful! I was making my list of alllll the things I wanted to cover and when I finished I looked at the list and went "this is almost allllll kitchen stuff". LOL But that's what I would want to know if I was buying this house!
Try soaking drain stoppers in white vinegar to dissolve build up. I had to do that with tub stopper in my apartment. It took soaking for several days in pure vinegar, but consider the stopper had several years of build up from previous tenants. It looks like new now.
I absolutely LOVE this home and your style!!! It’s a dream home 😍 If you make anymore videos would you mind showing the inside of the kitchen & butler’s pantry cabinets/drawers? I imagine you have everything organized so neatly! I would like to see how spacious the cabinets are. Maybe the master closet too?! Love the way you organize
You are SO sweet! Thank you for the nice compliments! The cabinets are HUGE! I will try to film a video of them in the near future but in the meantime here's a few blog posts with photos. My mom actually put in extra shelves in all the tall butlers in pantry style cabinets (in the butlers pantry, food pantry and both bathrooms) so that I can put little things in the cabinets (like pasta and chips... I don't have a lot of 2 foot high food stuffs). I did an entire post on how she added those extra shelves here: happilyeverafteretc.com/how-to-improve-your-storage-and-add-extra-pantry-shelves-to-your-closets/ I also did a blog post alllllll about organizing my kitchen (including drawer and cabinet space) which you can check out here: happilyeverafteretc.com/10-genius-ways-to-organize-your-kitchen/ Hope that helps!
Try doing this for your toilet situation. Turn the water off. Flush. In the tank locate the little tube that carries the water that fills up the bowl. Pour quiet a bit of white vinegar down the compartment where the water goes from the tube. Let it sit overnight and even all day the next day. Then turn the water back on and flush a couple of times. I did this and it prevent the black that may overtimme accumulate at the top of the bowl where the holes are. Also, I seem to have a water problem as well. After the bowl has been cleaned, flush. As it is filling and after it has filled spray the stuff that is used in the shower after a shower to keep soap scum from building up. See if that helps. I was telling someone of my water problems in my toilet and they said wax it!! I haven't tried that. Who knows, it may work. It might work in the sink as a barrier and slip right on off.
It’s the hard water ,in the country the water is hard on the toilets sinks and tubs use a solution I saw by a TH-camr One part hot water one part Dawn dishwashing liquid and one part white distilled vinegar let it sit in the toilets overnight the tub and sink half an hour those hard water stains will dissolve
Your water sounds more like the culprit for your stains, some areas have water that will grow orange slime in a absolutely clean toilet, as far as bleaching your toilet bowl or using toilet bowl cleaners with bleach that could cause issues IF your toilets were coated with a non stain coating then you are not supposed to use bleach or cleaners with bleach in them as it will damage (etch) the porcelain coating or totally remove it and then you'll get stains More readily. I bought a replacement toilet that had such a coating and it came with a warning to not use bleach or cleaners with bleach for this reason, I accidentally used a cleaner with bleach and have noticed now it does stain easier. You have a beautiful home and love your style of decor, and your beautiful Dachshunds are great. Glad you were able to get your issues taken care of since not all companies are really good at taking care of problems. If you want to remove the corrugated metal panels in the living room you should find just dry wall behind them. I totally agree about the plastic or nylon drawer guides, they should not be used because of a high rate of breaking. Hopefully in the future you can replace them with metal guides. I bought some budget cabinets and drawers to add to My place and the actual guides are metal but the anchors in the wall that hold the guides are a plastic or nylon and I have one drawer that has had one of the anchors break twice and it's not used that often and I'm very gentle with it but still broke, I called the company and they said Oh yeah those break all the time and sent me a supply of wall anchors. I had no issues with water spatter everywhere in my house but in this manufactured home I do and it is because the sink isn't as deep as the sink I had at my house, for some reason it's just more shallow. It's porcelain and a name brand a Kohler so not the problem just shallow.
Yes, I have a 50 gallon tank in the corner. It's been there since I moved in with no issues. I did check where the supports were for the house when deciding where to place it... if you're placing a really big tank you might want to go over that as they're placing the floor supports or reinforce the floor yourself.
This is still my favorite manufactured home plan. Praying I can achieve this dream soon.❤❤

Super helpful especially the kitchen. Your place is so cute.

Love your home and they way you decorate it .congratulations 🤩, I have my eyes on this model , so beautiful home !!!!
Thank you, that’s so sweet! I love it!
Love all the pups
This floor plan which is also called the southern charm by Clayton seems so much bigger when I toured it. It looks smaller with your furniture.

Thanks! I've since found pumice stones and they work great! No more hard water stains for me!

Did you put all the light updates all over?
No, these are the standard lights
Are the kitchen lights above the island standard or did you update it?
maybe try a home water softener or filter.🙂
I just looked at another Lula Mae video but they didn't include a base price.
Do you have a price list?
Scrub toilet and sinks with a pumice stone. Takes hard water stains right out and won’t scratch porcelain!
Is that a fish tank in your living room? Thinking about our layout haha

Try CLR or lime away in sinks
Worth a shot! Thanks for the recommendation Patty!
It’s your water, you need a water softener for your water.
