      And that’s why he gets such little coverage.

      That’s too dangerous for the mainstream.

    I couldn't connect to this film for most of the run time, I was left feeling bored for the majority of it. But towards the end I was won over by the characters and then got a gut punch with how it ended. The more I look into it after I watched, I was more intrigued. But I still feel like the film could have been better.

    Seen it twice. Once with a Chris Morris Q&A in Edinburgh and once at a student screening. I didn't think it has the same weight as Four Lions nor is it as funny. There were very few laughs at the student screening and I overheard someone asking if Chris Morris "had his finger on the pulse or was just very paranoid". Thats one of the problems, the story seems so absurd that without knowing its based on similar truthful events, it loses its punch when it viewed without this knowledge. Worth watching but dont expect anything as edgy as Four Lions.

      I haven’t seen it either but the theme, although it’s portrayed in a satirical way sounds like a recently aired tv drama series called Capture. It's an OK film. But the main thing I got from it was it could have easily been taken from real life, and much of it was inspired by the many hundreds of non-terrorists that have been set up by the FBI. It makes the FBI look good, and that they are keeping America safe, but they then have less time to focus on the real terrorists.

    Wish Chris Morris would do a film focussing on the forgotten white underclass in Britain.
    There are lots of films highlighting the plight of minorities, but few looking at the absurdities of a large section of white Britain gradually sinking down the educational / income charts to the very bottom - while middle class politicians focus on the needs of BAME because it's a better look for them, an easy virtue-signal.

  • @oholmes1701
    @oholmes1701 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    Other than Anna the FBI cast was very poor, were unbelievable in dialogue and annoying. The flip side the 'terrorists' were constantly 'with it' enough to make sound rational thoughts all the time which made things like 'horn that summons dinosaurs' etc just seem silly and out of place.
    Overall it felt the characters were made to fit the situations leaving them as just empty fodder for what ended up being unfunny farce. I know people are saying it isn't funny for the actual victims either, however if you're going to make a comedy out of this to draw light upon it then better make sure it's dam funny otherwise a documentary or serious approach would've been much wiser as the you're using the 'one shot' at exposing what the FBI are doing in a package that ultimately fizzles as at it's core is a poor comedy.
