I absolutely loved this movie. One of my favorites of the year so far. The comedy and horror both worked in equal measure, and I laughed out loud through the whole movie.
Great nod to Society from Mark as well. I should really watch that one again soon. :)
I found it a decent 7/10 thriller. I was expecting a but more from a performance and cinematic point of view, but most of it became predictable in the suspenseful moments, which relied on CGI at the end.
Yep it was class film loved it too!

Tardis crew Supposedly, Margot Robbie was actually the first choice for the role but I guess she couldn’t do it, most likely because of the filming of Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. So what did they do? They got another blonde, Australian actress who also happens to look a hell of a lot like Margot Robbie.
This was a fun and well executed (pun not intended) film.
Speaking of Samara Weaving - she's got one of the most powerful screams in the business.
A hack blomedy corror perhaps?

Probably the most purely enjoyable film I’ve seen this year. Good satire with effective gore and some great set pieces (even if the ending owes a little too much to Cabin In The Woods for my taste.) Samara Weaving is a star in the making.
I actually really liked the ending. Good to see them go there! I did love cabin in the woods though.
@@kart112 Cabin in the Woods is amazing. In terms of this film it was just the one moment that wore that very obvious influence on its sleeve a little too heavily.
I really, really enjoyed this and must say I am developing a bit of a thing for Samara Weaving. FAB in Three Billboards and her other Correr Homedy, The Babysitter. I'm tempted to go see it again.

I thought it was great, but the opening scene robs the movie of literal shock value.

I rather enjoyed it actually, but I've always had a thing for brutal vigilante action. Can't imagine Mark liked it though, considering he didn't think much of #4.
@Dex having discerning taste does not equal being snobby. you don't have to like everything. this modern idea of having any kind of discriminating taste means you're some kind of "hater" or a "snob" makes little sense to me. world needs a little more "snobbishness" to be honest. in fact, critic's job is to tease out the good from the bad and elaborate on that.
Rambo was a poor send off for the character but enjoyable in a straight to Cable sort of way. I wanted a smart script, a fitting tribute, what I got was a very standard murder film that did the job but could have done more.
Glad to hear it's meant to be good, but disappointed to hear the film apparently does not feature Ready or Not by The Fugees
At least Pras isn't in this movie.
Really enjoyed this, couldn't stop laughing in the final act and I fear I may have either been the only one doing so or too loud...
Whatever happened to Corrady Hommar?
Going to see this tonight. I usually chicken out at horror but I do love some Shaun of the Dead, etc. Sounds like it'll be a late-night gory action-fest. Been a while since I've seen a really good silly action movie (maybe not since Upgrade?) so am excited.
Loved it. Samara Weaving is awesome in this movie.

I am completly with Mark on this one.
Really good fun. Thought it was just going to be schlocky nonsense - which, to be fair, it kind of is - but it's laugh out loud funny with some genuine shocks and good performances all round. A couple of story decisions I didn't quite buy, but all in all, actually the most enjoyable film I've seen at the cinema recently.

Fiancé visits family and it turns out that rich people are crazy murders. I’m a little surprised Mark didn’t even mention “Get Out”

Watched this last night (late to the party) moderately enjoyed but felt the ending was lazy, would of liked the families deaths be more like a 'Final destination' death rather than just spontaneously exploding.
That's what made it brilliant, it was completely unexpected and hilarious.
It was good fun with some memorable lines.

I actually really enjoyed the film not going to change the world but definitely worth a watch. I loved the last line which I'm not going to spoil

I had a thoroughly good time watching this. I thought it was horror and hadn't expected the guffaws.

Trailer looked rubbish. But I adored the mindless violence
The film is a complete mess, the story and tone is all over the shot.
the script was clunky as hell. the ending was farcical. the plot had a lot of promise but the director did nothing to engage me

Saw the movie yesterday. Total crock! Ridiculous nonsense. Mark K couldn’t have been watching the same movie!

Great idea ruined by a terrible screenplay, it was so bad it felt like they were making it up as they were filming it. Left the theatre with 15 minutes left of the film.
I didn’t like it. Thought it was very predictable in terms of the character arcs and the humour was horrendous.
Didn't enjoy this at all...the comedy felt forced and fell flat. Very little tension generated by the hide and seek concept either. Given the reviews I was surprised how much I hated it
