A really interesting video, nice to see that people have been able to piece together (almost) all the clues. Hint: there's also a document that describes SCP-106's breach earlier that day, and it may have something to do with Maynard and the events of the game. ;)

There’s even more information. At the start of the game, one of the announcements over the PA states that Dr. Maynard is requested to head to the administrations office just minutes before the breach. This probably meant the Foundation had begun to find out about Maynard’s plan, but by then it was too late, and the breach took place just minutes after the announcement. In addition, I believe there is more to it than just 9341’s innate abilities. Anyone could believe it was dumb luck. However, most likely through surveillance (we know 9341 is being watched after he enters the entrance zone because he is called out when NTF enter the facility.) they saw his professional, straight-A containment of 106. Through simple following of instructions, or perhaps mental Initiative, 9341 is able to contain the most dangerous SCP in the facility in a snap. This most likely seals the deal for the foundation, and explains why they decide to take you in, and why they don’t when you don’t contain 106. At that point, you hadn’t proved you were capable or actually and possibly anomalous. Which is why the game ends the way it does.
Also we still working on 1.3.8 and I think you will like new stuff (related to MTF and intercom in Third Zone). P. S. is it even possible to contact you?

also that the Gate A ending has an extended version. it's more like an actual log instead of that line here it is. "Testing log ███. Subject █-████. Subject appears to be detached from all human interaction, often breaking focus from people he is conversing with and performing odd actions such as jumping up on the highest platforms in the room, picking up and throwing objects across the room, and dropping items it was carrying on to the nearest person's head. Researchers are encouraged to ignore this behavior in order to discourage it. Subject often goes in to brief trance-like states when startled, freezing up for periods lasting up to several minutes. After the time has passed, the subject will resume normal activity with no outward reaction to what has just happened. Subject demonstrates extraordinary luck and complete mastery of even the most fatal of circumstances and an uncanny ability to predict even the most unpredictable of hazards, almost as if it has performed these impossible tasks several times before. Further testing is required to determine whether the subject should receive SCP classification." .

He is theorized to be a spy of the Chaos Insurgency who helped Dr. Maynard into creating the breach. Skinner caused SCP-106's containment breach as a distraction, while Maynard gave SCP-079 the full access to the Site systems that caused the definitive breach.
It would be the perfect plan show the whole world your facility and your work only for them to think it's just a game when in reality they are entirely wrong.
The only thing I think you "missed" is in regards to the breach and how well it was planned. In the door control rooms there was a screen where two people talked about how so may dangerous SCPs were being shoved into their facility when they were previously only zoned for safe class SCPs. This means that the building was minimal security at best (since most of the safe SCPs aren't entirely concerned with escape), making a breach inevitable with a little someone giving it a push to make it happen faster.

The player being an SCP makes sense. Seeing as how your able to rewind time upon dying. Your personal save file. Like Undertale. Except in this game, nobody knows about your time manipulation powers. In an audio log you get after achieving Gate A Ending 2 the voice specifies that it is impossible for anyone, much less a D-Class, to escape the facility relatively unharmed. And even states that it was like you’ve already experienced this before. So calling the player an unregistered SCP seems fitting.
One has to wonder if this guy shares any relation with Frisk. Or if he's from the dimension where that sort of thing is... well, maybe not common, but a thing at least, and somehow ended up here. Food for thought.
@@newbiegamelover4767 he performed unauthorized researched about something called "the spiral gestalt" that's probably why he has this power to save or reload his life
So from what I understand, D-9341 is the player, and when they die they don't "revive" they simply create a parallel universe where the player didn't die, so they die and they learn, repeat. So technically D-9341 can be considered an SCP because they can learn every path, every cause and effect.
Not really... The spiral gestalt rewind's to the time of our latest "save" in which NOTHING bad happened but we retain all of the info that lead to our death and then the player "loads" into Benjamin walkers body... Think about it whenever we load our save file our character WON'T move for a little and then all of a sudden we can move around.
I believe that Oliver is trapped in a personal hell thanks to the “Spiral Gestalt” because we can always replay the game, i think that he cant never leave the foundation due to the “Spiral Geralt”, We always see the NTF or the Chaos Insurgency taking us somewhere but we don’t see where, we never see the outside of those walls
Well yes, but I think thats more of a game mechanic like its groundhog day, it repeats until he survives or gets out, and the games being able to restart is for you not having to get a new pc every time to play the game. (Theres games that do that)
I think what the spiral Gestalt would do is take Oliver back to the beginning of the game if he dies at any gate B ending which means the Gate A endings are probably the canon ones
@@playerarmy6890 The Subject D-9341 never got classified as an SCP. It works like that, The Spiral Gestalt was probably a proposal for SCP-001 and after his success on his studies everything changes. We will never know what's meshing or uniting in the spiral but my concept is that 2 dimensions united and their powers could have transfered to Benjamin. Everytime he dies he switches dimensions between the twos and travels into the spiral, everytime taking him to a new universe or world where he learns from his mistakes and continues. By the way, D-9341 becomes an MTF Agent and recontains SCP-682 in another game.
Still one of my favorite things to realize in a game, to figure out you were some overpowered immortal SCP that can erase the universe by deleting a save.

After the incident, SCP-4444 was contained in Site-[ Redacted ]. Special containment procedures: SCP-4444 is to be kept in a 20×20×5 room fully furnished similar to a hotel room and the entrance NOT to be locked (As further interaction with the subject reveals that he hates being "Restricted"), SCP-4444 is to be provided with entertainment and be left to wander the facility but not exiting it, a tracker is to be embeded onto SCP-4444 skin to ease recontainment. SCP-4444 is to be respected as a level-4 researcher and NOT an SCP. Anomalous properties: SCP-444 has been observed to make or do thing perfectly that the subject is known to have tried before such as cooking grass jelly abalone without having a recipe book and dissasemble and reassemble a mk 10 sniper rifle without mistakes. This led to further questioning ( See Addendum 4444-1a) which led to finding that SCP-4444 is able to create millions of realities, universes and alternate timelines in a matter of nano seconds and incorporated it into his current timeline, although he stated that his power cannot alter the past and cannot alternate the future drastically (See addendum 4444-1a) and his ability is nulified by the introduction of a new variable, but he can just alter the reality after that. Lets not waste anymore time, how did you survive the containment breach at site [ Redacted ]? Dr.J: So you're able to create different realities and incorporate it into your timeline? *Dr.J can be seen writing on his notepad Subject: Correct. I didn't expect you to understand that fast. Dr.J: Well being able to be a level 4 researcher studying a Thaumiel class SCP to talk to needs some higher understanding. Subject: Oh great, thank god Iam Thaumiel, so that means I'm not gonna be neutralized? Dr.J: We'll see about that, what is the limit pf your power? Subject: I cannot alter what I've done, or what you've done, but I can alter the future, right now. I can easily break containment if I want to. Dr.J: Then why haven't you? Subject: Huh, I thought you knew, for my own good of course. Dr.J:My bad, continuing on. If you can alter the future, can you predict it? Subject: Sort of, but variables can make it very hard. Dr.J: Such as? Subject: Anything that I don't control. Dr.J: Are you willing to co-operate with the foundation to create a system to contain other SCPs? Subject: As long as I get fair treatment and not work with the fool that demoted me, researchers should have free choice over what to research. Dr.J: Oh, you mean O5-[ Redacted ]? He has been removed of his position. Subject: Good then, as long as I recieve fair treatment. Dr.J: Since when did you notice your ability? Subject: Since the containment breach happened. Dr.J: Alright thats it for the interview, thanks for your cooperation. [Dr.J cuts the tape] [End log]
Personally I think Maynard is a member of the serpents hand because he said “ your free now free to give the ones who imprisoned you what they deserve” I think that’s more a of a serpents hand thing to say rather then chaos
Not Necessarlity, remember, the Chaos Insurgency wants to use SCP for it's own benefits, Maybe, he just wanted to Manipulate 079 so that he could cause troubles to the Foundation
I think it’s canon that he gets caught, as there is an SCP called “The Lucky Man”, with similarities very much like Benjamin. also nice 055 reference at the end hu hu hu
Maynard probably wasn’t Chaos Insurgency, but rather Serpent’s Hand. (The Chaos Insurgency uses anomalies to their own benefit, the Serpent’s Hand wants to liberate them so they can all to be free.(the two are often confused.))
The Chaos Insurgency does want to weaponize anomalies, however first and foremost, they want to fuck over the Foundation. Considering the SH had no other references in CB, I find it MUCH more likely for Maynard to be a CI Agent.
@@SomeSkyrimFan I feel like given the rhetoric he uses while talking to 079, I'd say its more likely Serpent's Hand as he he refers to 079 as a "Prisoner" and the Serpent's Hand are known to refer to the foundation as "Jailers". At the very least he seems sympathetic to 079 which isn't something the Chaos Insurgency really cares about.
So you're telling me If Maynard is possible not only to be a mole rat in The SCP Foundation/Jailors, but he is also a mole rat on The Chaos Insurgency/Madmen??? 🐺
Tbh, this gives me Edge of Tomorrow vibes where the main character dies, but then wakes up/lives again to repeat everything that happened until he succeeded on finishing the war. This guy's the same. He "wakes up", dies, "wakes up" again and does the same thing over and over as he gets knowledge on what to do the next time he dies. Then, he succeeds in escaping. That's so cool!!! (Sorry for my long explanation)
I'm impressed. no. not at the video, at the fact you came to similar conclusion. SCP containment breach is a nightmare to traverse, with so many random things that are completely pointless. true escape? impossible. the only VICTORY your character can truly have is the fact he stopped a massive containment breach, for all other outcomes are the same as his research. an endless spiral.
Upon waking up, we are greeted with only a handful of things: A bleak, claustrophobic cell, an eerie soundtrack and a note on the bench. I can safely say we are familiar with what the tone, the guards, and the containment chamber you were sent to implies: You are, for whatever reason, a Class-D, sentenced to the gallows, where you meet the world's most negligent chiropractor.
The ending is pretty sad, batesee knows it, we know it, despite all, we are still a random Class D, we dont know what we did, we will never know it, a pretty tragic story... To Benjamin Oliver Walker.
Good guess but no, Its about Site-19 being locked down due to a containment breach, at the intro sequence, you start with 1 item, a class-d paper. Then something goes wrong, SCP-173 Starts a containment breach and 079 just opens all the scp containment chamber doors (not 966 for some reason) Then you find items refine them into better versions or better items, Escape the facility is your main objective but it takes long, When you get to entrance zone Mobile Task Force Unit E-11 enter the facility which makes your life harder, you have to hide from MTF and watch out for SCP's
Saying site 19, only makes me wonder what the hell the other sites have contained, seeing as 19 had the more popular ones >->' (meaning from just stories and creepypastas. Most got their fame from the game)
@@Firestar4041 It's almost like Site-19 has a problem with people leaking information through unsecured channels. Maybe 05 should get off their asses look into that security breach.
Complete shot in the dark but... What if we're the spiral gestalt? What if his studies lead to us gaining control over their body. The reason it's hypothetical is because as the player, we only have access to the set play area of the foundation. Meaning that there was no way of proving our existence before we had control. The activation of this ability and our control could just be random or it could be that we only gain control in life or death situations that are, even by the smallest chance possible, somehow avoidable. In the end this is all just my own theory so I have nothing to back this off of other than loose connections I pulled out of thin air. Still a good thinker in my opinion though and you never know with the SCP Foundation anything can happen lol.
The game itself is very... chaotic. By having plot important items be missable (let alone plot dumps) here and there; being very RNG on what, when, and where you stumble into areas; along with the never ending bug issues; topped off with the difficulty. The joys of theories, able to abridge a story that might fail in the delivery.
When you think about it, his odd presence that’s seemingly out of nowhere is a immediate giveaway of that, seeing the insurgency randomly attacks in the foundation’s eyes
According to what I've read, D-9341 is classified as a Euclid SCP. Currently known as SCP-9341 (prior to his previous designation number), who possesses an anomalous phenomenon of "time-traveling" otherwise referred by him as "Loading". Heck, he was even *used* to help out in tests from then on. I think a reclassification of him to "Safe class" is under review at the moment. (I say *use* technically because he has no choice either way, he can either comply or die, I suppose).
From reading SCP-181 and the comments below, no question D-9341 is indeed SCP-181. While SCP-181 is classified as D-87465 it's possible the SCP foundation changed his number after he was given SCP status with a new D number. It's a very big number gap between 9341 and 87465. Like, 70,000 people between the two. But it's possible this is because they keep moving him to a new facility so he doesn't get suspicious, they give him frequent amnesiac.
He is not because scp 181 was never said to be a researcher for the scp foundation, and they have different names too (they got different backstories) , i think the canon ending is the chaos insurgency because D 9341 scp number classification doesnt exist yet
yeah that's about right i remember this one time i was trying run from 049 and the door fucking shut on me and turned around and seen 049 going at me and i yelled NOOOOOO!!!!! and the reason why i yelled was because i trying to beat the game with out saving and i was soooo fucking close >=(
Agent Skinner is a character and unseen antagonist in the game, he is theorized to be a spy of the Chaos Insurgency who helped Dr. Maynard into creating the breach. Skinner caused SCP-106 containment breach as a distraction while Maynard gave SCP-079 the full access to the Site systems that caused the definitive breach.
If you do a bit of research, there's a longer original version of the "D-9341 is controlled by a gamer" ending. It was shortened due to it not being subtle enough.
I bet the whole inclusion of the Spiral Gestalt is a quiet reference to the fact the player is making connections in the chaotic world that is SCP containment breach
“The subject has such abilities even in the most fatal of circumstances as if he has practiced them several times before.” the guard looks back to the camera footage to see D-9341 b-hopping away from 096
Oh my god this video was so cool!!!! I tried to piece the story together and why D-9341 is involved in all of this but I couldn't and you did it just right
I think that The Serpents Hand caused this because they have a goal of releasing and keeping safe SCPs, no matter how dangerous they are. The Chaos Insurgency wants to use SCPs as torture devices or to their own advantage. However, Chaos did show up at the end. Not The Serpents Hand, so who knows.
If the breach was incenerated and orchestrated by Chaos Insurgency, then they would show up much earlier and probably would storm the complex with great force, because their structure is very centralized. But to me it is certainly SH agent that orchestrated this to free all SCPs. Also SH agents didn't show up because SH is not an organization it's a movement that has various agent cells who may never even know their leader or the library, but they share a common belief that anomalies should be set to the public......... CI showed up at the end when they have acknowledged about the breach and felt to use it as their chance to plunder the site.
It's really amazing that they made not just a horror game, with scares and spooks, but giving it though and leaving clues to speculate about. Love the whole SCP community
A really interesting video, nice to see that people have been able to piece together (almost) all the clues. Hint: there's also a document that describes SCP-106's breach earlier that day, and it may have something to do with Maynard and the events of the game. ;)

the foundation actually tried to kill us by making a lure of several stories, leading up to a memetic kill agent
I love the games that acknowledge the respawn system in the story. It just seems so much more like less than an actual game.

No, you choose to be classified as an scp or not.
I'm 1 year late but you can just tell the facility “begginers luck”
The power of the reverse card
Which is why the game ends the way it does.
that's a great explanation for the endings of Gate A and Gate B
Thats a great explanation, does this mean if an XK class EOTW scenario starts he'd just respawn and be able to stop it from happening all together?

Subject appears to be detached from all human interaction,
often breaking focus from people he is conversing with and performing
odd actions such as jumping up on the highest platforms in the room,
picking up and throwing objects across the room, and dropping items it
was carrying on to the nearest person's head. Researchers are encouraged
to ignore this behavior in order to discourage it.
Subject often goes in to brief trance-like states when
startled, freezing up for periods lasting up to several minutes. After
the time has passed, the subject will resume normal activity with no
outward reaction to what has just happened.
Subject demonstrates extraordinary luck and complete mastery
of even the most fatal of circumstances and an uncanny ability to
predict even the most unpredictable of hazards, almost as if it has
performed these impossible tasks several times before.
Further testing is required to determine whether the subject should receive SCP classification."

Quizical Gin that's a nice little addition considering how many of the escaped SCPs would clearly usually be stored in different facilities.

He then gives SCP 079 access to every major in the site . When 079 questions Dr Maynard about this, he responds "You're free now , free to give the ones who imprisoned you what they deserve.

So from what I understand, D-9341 is the player, and when they die they don't "revive" they simply create a parallel universe where the player didn't die, so they die and they learn, repeat.
So technically D-9341 can be considered an SCP because they can learn every path, every cause and effect.

I think what the spiral Gestalt would do is take Oliver back to the beginning of the game if he dies at any gate B ending which means the Gate A endings are probably the canon ones

Description:
SCP-4444 is a male humanoid, of caucastic race with an age of 37 with an average weight, height, and strenght, a former level 4 researcher with an iq of 167, which researched the "Spiral Gestalt" phenomenon, which was illegal in addendum [ Redacted ], which led him to be demoted down to a class d, then subject was brought to Site-[ Redacted ] and was being used for an experiment where an containment breach happened, subject escaped without a scratch. After the incident, SCP-4444 was contained in Site-[ Redacted ].
Special containment procedures:
SCP-4444 is to be kept in a 20×20×5 room fully furnished similar to a hotel room and the entrance NOT to be locked (As further interaction with the subject reveals that he hates being "Restricted"), SCP-4444 is to be provided with entertainment and be left to wander the facility but not exiting it, a tracker is to be embeded onto SCP-4444 skin to ease recontainment. SCP-4444 is to be respected as a level-4 researcher and NOT an SCP.
Anomalous properties:
SCP-444 has been observed to make or do thing perfectly that the subject is known to have tried before such as cooking grass jelly abalone without having a recipe book and dissasemble and reassemble a mk 10 sniper rifle without mistakes. SCP-4444 is to be used to test containment procedures in order to find faults in those procedures and refining it.

Subject: Anything that I don't control.
Dr.J: Are you willing to co-operate with the foundation to create a system to contain other SCPs?
Subject: As long as I get fair treatment and not work with the fool that demoted me, researchers should have free choice over what to research.

Dr.Maynard as a Serpents Hand Operative?……I Love it more then him being an Chaos Insurgent.
"the world's most negligent chiropractor" That's a new one
I think it’s canon that he gets caught, as there is an SCP called “The Lucky Man”, with similarities very much like Benjamin.

So you're telling me
If Maynard is possible not only to be a mole rat in The SCP Foundation/Jailors, but he is also a mole rat on The Chaos Insurgency/Madmen???
🐺
And I think if Maynard was part of The Serpent's Hand, well he's probably a lone wolf member of The Serpent's Hand
Don't forget the OG
GROUNDHOG'S DAY.
I'm impressed. no. not at the video, at the fact you came to similar conclusion. SCP containment breach is a nightmare to traverse, with so many random things that are completely pointless. true escape? impossible. the only VICTORY your character can truly have is the fact he stopped a massive containment breach, for all other outcomes are the same as his research. an endless spiral.
and yes, i still liked your video, great work :)
Nice
"It's not a sphere, is it?"
...That just raises FURTHER questions!
Upon waking up, we are greeted with only a handful of things:
A bleak, claustrophobic cell, an eerie
soundtrack and a note on the bench.
I can safely say we are familiar with what the tone, the guards, and the containment chamber you were sent to implies:
You are, for whatever reason, a Class-D, sentenced to the gallows, where you meet the world's most negligent chiropractor.
So basically
We are an SCP that is in need of more testing
OnyxLord 357 yes
“yeah, we’re scared of this class d who escaped.”
So, the "Spiral Gestalt" is essentially the same as the concept of the SAVE FILE and the Player in Undertale?
more like every game known to have saves in existence
Whatever makes it easier to understand
More like both games have fourth wall breaking mechanics of save files
everything 4th wall breaking is now undertale xd
The ending is pretty sad, batesee knows it, we know it, despite all, we are still a random Class D, we dont know what we did, we will never know it, a pretty tragic story...
To Benjamin Oliver Walker.
That was one of the most entertaining videos I've seen in a long time. Keep up the good work, Batesee!
so this game is pretty much supposed to be an SCP entry for the website/lore for an SCP?
dayum
Good guess but no, Its about Site-19 being locked down due to a containment breach, at the intro sequence, you start with 1 item, a class-d paper. Then something goes wrong, SCP-173 Starts a containment breach and 079 just opens all the scp containment chamber doors (not 966 for some reason) Then you find items refine them into better versions or better items, Escape the facility is your main objective but it takes long, When you get to entrance zone Mobile Task Force Unit E-11 enter the facility which makes your life harder, you have to hide from MTF and watch out for SCP's
Late Reply: how do you know that it's site 19?
afaik it's said in SCP-173's uncensored article that it is in site 19, so since the whole game is about it, it should take place in site 19
Saying site 19, only makes me wonder what the hell the other sites have contained,
seeing as 19 had the more popular ones >->'
(meaning from just stories and creepypastas.

Wow. This is more fascinating than the game itself
Gold Leader ya
Gold Leader I know this is late but, uh, this kinda is the game.
fagglebag, His point may be that this theory, or part of the game, is better than the rest of the game.

Sorry, but I've been fascinated by that guy for a while and the SCP wiki just wasn't enough.
Two words, "simulation testing"
It would certainly explain the loading ability.

When you think about it, his odd presence that’s seemingly out of nowhere is a immediate giveaway of that, seeing the insurgency randomly attacks in the foundation’s eyes
So basically he is exploiting an unusual phenomenon. Does that make him an SCP?
The SCP Foundation did consider putting him as an SCP due to how he could predict certain things.
It makes him a reality bender, like Aaron and (possibly) Clef.
SnowManWnc it would make him an SCP in a similar way to Dr. Bright, if nothing else.
He became an SCP
A little late but yeah, thats a good theory.
He is not because scp 181 was never said to be a researcher for the scp foundation, and they have different names too (they got different backstories) , i think the canon ending is the chaos insurgency because D 9341 scp number classification doesnt exist yet
Wait so the door at the beginning of the game that wouldn't shut was just Scp-079 fiddling with it. 😱
yeah that's about right i remember this one time i was trying run from 049 and the door fucking shut on me and turned around and seen 049 going at me and i yelled NOOOOOO!!!!! and the reason why i yelled was because i trying to beat the game with out saving and i was soooo fucking close >=(

I love it when games break the fourth wall, and make it seem like the game is a completely different dimension.
“The subject has such abilities even in the most fatal of circumstances as if he has practiced them several times before.”
the guard looks back to the camera footage to see D-9341 b-hopping away from 096
Oh my god this video was so cool!!!!
