We look at things that happened in RuneScape’s past, the type of things an old OSRS RuneScape player would remember. This video features the legendry RuneScape warship among other things. those warships were rare back when i was playing in 2004 - 2010, I remember encountering a few people with them. Still can't believe how long ago that was.
You should talk about 2005 era rs2, like the old graphics for Port Sarim, Fally and Varrock! I'm sure lots of people remember when the Varrock fountain couldn't be walked across and was just a really big fountain

I remember back when I played in 2001-2003 on rsc when it was really active, every x-mas morning around 9 am CST there would be huge x-mas drop parties, dropping d meds, phats, and especially santa hats. Was an annual event for a couple years and everyone would drop items, and it was so much fun.

Crumb here's one for you and I have yet to see anyone cover it but I clearly remember it because I used it a couple times on my friends: in classic at one point in time your combat level wasn't shown like it is in all the games now. Back then if I wanted to fight someone and told them "I'm level 35" but I'm actually higher level they would be none the wiser.
I can't find anything about this anywhere but I clearly remember when your combat was shown how sad I was that I couldn't lure people anymore. Maybe you can find out more about it.

Awesome video. Yes that's how range was & it made players with high range levels famous and very desirable teammates. There used to be a formula that used to tell you how high you can train range without affecting your combat level (if you were a melee character). Made for very fun PKing :)

back in the day, there was only 1 type of pickaxe until they did an update for all the different type of pickaxes (bronze, iron, steel, ext.) each pickaxe would mine more times than the last pickaxe (I.E. Rune pickaxe would swing 12 times per 1 click for each ore.) i also remember someone having an item in game called "weed" it looked like a spinach roll but if you used the item, it would "eat" your equipped sword and turn it into a "rusty sword" (it also looked like it had a bite taken out of it.)

I'm bummed that you didnt mention the imp/sheep glitch from the launch of castle wars. I actually think I'm the only person who remembers this glitch anymore. I don't think any footage exists of it but basically people figured out how to look like a sheep or an imp (which look nothing like they do now and were way smaller). This happened in the lobby before the game. It was very entertaining. Then some people figured out how to leave the game and stay as the imp in the main world. It was great fun back then.
I played rs from 2002-2007 I think and only came back to osrs in 2018 when I found out it was a thing, I should really log into rs3 and see what kind of old stuff I have on my account
I had the warship in my Bank up until about 2006-2007 when i threw it away not knowing the true value behind it i just originally thought i needed it for the grand tree quest in classic. The karamja warships was the ships glough was building
Ahh i thought ghost town was a known thing lol - how about the trade screen? the safety screen after the first trade? do people remember when they didnt have that so it was super easy to get scammed?

Interestingly I still forget the party room is in fally I don’t play much anymore but when I did it was always in seers my account has the 10 year cape but I’m not sure when I started sooo 1 chimp in game btw also got 99% of my levels in rs2 I just walk around rs3 these days I don’t know how to play
The Warship was modeled after the Warships Glouph was building during the Grand Tree quest line IMO.
I can't seem to play runescape 3 with my computer but I know I had a warship when runescape 2 came out but I can't remember if I got rid of it at some point

Crumb in early rs2 you could milk any cow you saw. This was later changed. Just something I remember when I started.
I remember the cows too!! Man, I thought I was crazy. I guess it's better this way though since with all the bots good luck getting a cow alive for more than half a second upon spawning.
Foolish Kiwi yup. I believe that's why jagex introduced dairy cows that were not attackable.

I have a war ship in rs3 but I stopped playing 2 years ago. I've been trying to get back into rs3 but 07scape seems like the better option especially since I can play it on my phone at work now. I hope they make the war ship tradable in rs3 because I'd rather have a phat set again.. or probably 5 sets if it is really that rare.

Your info about rocks is wrong.
There were two types of rocks, Soft rock and Hard rock. Hard Rocks work exactly like rocks you know today, soft rocks were always grey. They had the same respawn timers, but you could never see when they were spawned unless you used the prospect option, which was pointless, people just spammed the rocks, usually soft rock mining quickly respawning stuff like clay or iron.
Soft rock gave WAY less fatigue than Hard rock, that was the major reason to mine with soft. The only spot I remember having soft rock was south west of varrock, I spent a lot of noob time there. I forget hard rock locations, but I vaugely remember dwarven mine being one.
Also, in those days, we only had a "pickaxe" no rune, addy, mithril etc. I remember how crazy it was when they got added, and the only way to get a rune pickaxe was to sit and the vendor and wait for it to restock, tons of people just sitting there spamming, trying to buy it to sell to the other players.
Before the soft and hard rocks there were only soft rocks, but then it got updated to only hard rocks, but because back in the day there was no sleeping bags and u got tired pretty fast mining hard rocks, they did bring also the soft rocks back.
Who remembers having to get to runescape through the PopCap games website???

I remember buying the account trippenflipp from some guy for 90$. 90$ to me back in 03 04 was nuts and he was max combat. also saw pics of his account in rsc days with xx jut xx and duping so it's fun to know i had such a famous account if only for around 6 hours :D

Another interesting fact you could perhaps mention in a future vid are display teas ( runescapeclassic.wikia.com/wiki/Display_tea ). Can be obtained in rsc but not in osrs and rs3 (where they are called like any other tea but with different examine info, so technically the same item but renamed)

The War Ship doesn't seem too valuable to have, mainly because somebody could have an account from back then and lie about it since only a J-Mod could really look in your inventory. Being untradable and having no animations to show proof you own it, there's no real satisfaction to owning it. And if somebody hacks you, they can just destroy it and you lose that piece of history you own forever. I bet there are hackers out there who do that just to remove its existence from the game or buy the accounts to delete them.
