If there was one thing from these pitches that makes it onto the screen, I hope it’s the line “Of course she’s my daughter. she’s adopted.” It’s a great callback and a great message.
@@ImitationJesus Yeah. That's what I meant when I said it's a great call back. But the thing is, all of the times it is brought up that Loki is adopted, it is used as a way to create distance. Like in Avengers, Thor says, "He's my brother!" and then Hill says something about how many people he's killed and then Thor says, "He's adopted." It's a great joke, but he's basically saying "He's not my real brother." This scene from Nando is an inversion of that and that's why I love it so much. It's the kind of scene you could build a whole movie around, working backwards just to get there.
That last pitch breaks my heart because I know it'll never happen and I love it so much. That pitch would make such a banger recoil to Love and Thunder, it could save the status of Thor.
I love the Stardust “regional herald” pitch. The idea of Galactus having middle management corporate structure around his world-eating would be pretty amazing.
I mean, given that Hela already fills the role of Odin's secret long-lost daughter Angela has in the comics, I really doubt they'll basically do it again
You know it never ceases to amaze me how much the MCU thoroughly fumbled Thor’s mythos and Norse Mytholgoy as a whole. I know marvel comic Thor makes some major alterations to Norse Mythology from the Prose and Poetic Eddas but the omission of characters like Baldur and Tyr, Hela being Odin’s daughter, no Enchantress, boring Malekeith, no Ulik, and no World Serpent just makes everything feel so small.
Imagine pitching Waititi as the director for Thor 5 and using his non-capesh1t works as your great argument. I have no care in the world if he makes non-superhero movies that some people like. I barely could finish watching that vampire movie and the other one with a kid and Alant Grant. None of those movies have any commonality with Thor's character.
I like these pitches. The one thing that I’m taking away though, it’s going to be really hard to keep any Thor 5 from getting very cluttered very quickly.
23:14 it was actually revealed in a recent event that due to poor work performances, stardust has been demoted to the role assistant (to) the regional herald.
2:04 Thank you for this fun video! Small note: Thor didn't have a "silly English-faking accent thing" since Ragnorok per-say, they just allowed the actor to fully embrace his Australian accent, where he's from. As an Aussie I can confirm he was not trying to put on an accent whatsoever. It's 100% just being Australian...
Love bringing back, "shes adopted.' I think its all the stronger if Loki comes back somehow. No heroic sacrifice, please, hes died enough... but actually mending the brothers relationship and healing the parental trauma via Thor being a more loving adopted father than Odin was seems like a great place to go.
Hey Nando, do you have any ideas for a Justice League Dark Pitch, given the apparent reset of the DCEU and Gunn’s willingness to do more out there projects?
I would love to see a Thor film with Amora as the villain and Beta Ray Bill being a main character introduced. I love Bill, he’s a great character and Enchantress absolutely deserves some recognition on the big screen. Would make for a fun film
Really enjoy a lot of these pitches. Personally, I like the Siege-based one best (I liked that story, though partly because of Kid Loki's role), but I'd be happy to see any of them, particularly the arrival of Beta Ray Bill. The last one is also rather nice, though I'm just not as into Chaos War in general, while I fully agree that War of the Realms just doesn't work here - it's something that I'd've done over a miniseries or two movies at least, and definitely requires the setup that is really lacking here. Still, always happy to hear these pitches because they're fantastic.
Heres what I'd do (prior to watching your pitches): The movie shows in flashbacks how Odin/Thor and Zeus/Hercules are very similar but ultimately moved into different directions (remember Helas backstory?) And the core of the movie is Thor learning how to be a better father than his own dad and Zeus and ultimately converting Hercules to his side
Idea for the "cameraman," how about Thor stumbles upon a Stark drone? It's basically just a flying camera that somehow has personality, like R2-D2, but NO beeps and boops. The communicator is busted, and Thor isn't a tech guy. So we get Thor reacting to the loss of Tony, get your mockumentary camera following him, and maybe get some payoff when a big thump fixes the comms just enough for some last words... (percussive maintenance, and Thor can be like, "I always knew Stark should've let me try hitting his tech when it had an issue." or something)
That last pitch is incredible! Delightful just to hear that story, blending the comic storyline and the themes started in Love and Thunder, really keeping all these elements feeling cohesive!
Two things to add to this pitch. We need Matt Damon as an actor Korg (since no more Loki), Luke Hemsworth as actor Thor, Ben Affleck as actor Gorr, and Kristen Bell as actress Jane reenacting Love and Thunder. Need an end credit scene of a “team” I call the Dad-vengers. Thor, Scott, Clint, Bruce, and Happy (as Morgan’s father figure). All of them trying to help Thor learn to be a better dad
There is a Tyr in the MCU, makes a very small cameo in Thor 2 right around after Thor, Loki and Jane escape Asgard. But he most likely died in Ragnarok.
Crazy how I used to watch every show and spin off but the second I started skipping out on those random b movies and cheap Power Rangers shows, I immediately stopped caring
@@MILOPETIT why do I relate to this so much? 😂 Same tho! I haven't watched any of the recent films and I can't think of anything upcoming that I'm excited for...
Another question: Do we think India Rose Hemsworth (Chris’ daughter and Love’s actress) will be playing the character long-term? Sure, she’s pretty much always guaranteed to be available if she’s in her dad’s movie, but does the MCU plan on sticking with her for future projects, or would they rather age her up and recast her with a more established, older actor?
I hate they didn't make Thor the king of the asgardians. The point of his journey was learning how to become a mature leader of his people from his trials and tribulations.
His journey isn't done yet, even at the end of Ragnarok he wasn't ready. He was forced into the role, sure, but he wasn't ready. But now we get him being a father, a much more important leadership role that will prepare him to be king. Once he proves to himself he's better than Odin, he'll be ready to be king of Asgard
I laughed so hard at "I'm a betting man, I Snap on turn 1 sometimes" Great video as always, Nando. Watching your pitches is sometimes more entertaining than watching the actual movies that actually come out. I'm salivating at the idea of a Thunderbolts X Revengers Siege movie!
The final pitch was awsome. I know it wouldn’t be likely but since Angela was Originally a Spawn Character it would be Suuper cool if we got a Spawn cameo or reference. Agin supper unlikely but supper cool
Honestly the first one you said was the best. I think what these movies are lacking is Loki. I think however they wrap up season 2 they need to move Loki out of the TVA and reunite him with Thor even if it's not permanent
I really have never understood the Love and Thunder backlash. Not sure if it’s because I don’t read the comics or what. The last pitch is so solid. I hope they steal some of your ideas.
Simple. Don’t. Thor has gotten more than enough solo movies. I feel he should now be treated similar to Iron Man post Iron Man 3 where he’s still around and shows up to help when he’s needed.
I’m working on Thor 5 and am focusing around mortals “fearing the gods” and the story being more of a fight for Midgard and home/family and away from earth. It also evolves/completes Thor’s arc as the new all father and gets him “out of the mcu” to make room for new characters and stories
I love your pitch. The only thing I'd add is a post credits scene where Thor accidentally meets TVA Loki (who is dealing with the aftermath of Loki season 2 stuff) who Thor is shocked to see isn’t dead (to which Loki explains he's a variant), and TVA Loki tells Thor he'll see him again in the coming conflict. This would add another dimension to the family theme, and would set up future Phase 5 and 6 tension.
Look… I don’t think I can ever forgive taika for completely killing off with a single bullet two of thors best storylines of recent times. Like sure, it has its moments but the original material had infinite potential and he KOd two of them… just like with secret invasion, wasted potential
I think the backstory for Bill can still be that Syrtyr destroyed his planet. It could even follow the miniseries story where he goes into Hel to fight the dead Syrtyr and take his sword, and we've even introduced the other characters from that story already- Pip and Skurge. That story would be great to adapt to a movie- it's pretty much the perfect length. Obviously they wouldn't do a 1:1 adaptation, but they should definitely lift elements from it.
When Hercules gets his own show or movie I hope it will be "Amadeus & Herc", based on his teamup with Amadeus Cho in "The Incredible Hercules". It would set it apart from all the other Hercules movies and shows, and I think that would be a very fun dynamic. Also reminds me a little bit of Waver Velvet and Rider/Iskandar from Fate/Zero.
I would absolutely love a future Thor movie to work in the mythology of “Thor taking 9 steps and then falling” after slaying the Midgard serpent. Fear itself did it pretty well.
What if… Love would make Galactus “full” for millennia and the herald seeking her is hoping take sacrifice one life for countless worlds and sees himself as a dark hero.
I’d really like Valhalla to play a big part in the film. Have this be thors swan song before secret wars. A Logan style Thor film where he teams up with Hercules and beta ray bill to stop mangog, with his death looming throughout the movie
Hot take, Thor 4 should have been "The Mighty Thor", had Jane as the lead with Thor as a supporting character, and possibly swapped out Gorr for Amora or Zeus and Ares/Hercules as the villain(s) and maybe brought in Angela. Gorr would have been saved for another movie.
Think Thor 5 has to play into the multiverse & incursions story. They should try to adapt a version of when Thor, Starbrand & Hyperion went to face the Beyonders. Fits the overarching story and gives that much more powerful villain. Hercules could be a stand in for Hyperion. Like the comic it should end with Thor dying
I just want to say if we do it all get that first idea where they're going up against the Thunderbolts and their clear analogs to the Avengers I want that classic avenger back to back shot but in reverse.
I think the Cull storyline would be great and I think Disney would love it because they can make toys of all the superheroes with the hammers. Marvel's Avengers Alliance already made She-Hulk one of the Worthy
Love these pitches so much but with Bill, I’m sure Gamora and Nebula helped Thanos decimate Bill’s planet in Endgame when they go back to 2014. You could use that really
My idea for Thor 5 is called thor trial of olympus the villains or antagonists are zeus and hercules and it deals with the thor coming to new asgard with his daughter love only to find it held hostage by the olympians zeus and hercules beat thor up and then force him to fight in their gladiator pit which is tartarus there he fights cool creatures and monsters from greek mythology like minotaurs and centaurs, hydras, nimean lion etc and reflects on his failures as a king to asgard and a father to love he beats all the trials and frees his people but they reject him blaming him for the amount of suffering they have endured from the house of odin they reject him and also dont want valkyrie as their king love also decides she doesn't want to live a viking lifestyle and decides to live a life of peace then thor 6 deals with thor being a superhero on earth going by thunderstrike now but is called to new asgard by mangog after he kills and eats his people for asgards past crime on his people whose tormented souls give him his powers its a cat and mouse story of thor trying to catch mangog before he kills everyone he cares about and the film ends with both just killing each other and ending the conflict thor goes to valhalla and mangog is reunited with the freed souls of his people
The other, bigger issue with the Malekith one is that Christopher Ecclestone doesn’t like to double dip. He has stated on numerous occasions that he does not like returning to roles, that’s just something he doesn’t do. Although he does seem to have softened that stance recently, as evidenced by him actually reprising his role in Doctor Who for Big Finish (even if he still won’t return to it on screen). So maybe if the script was right he might do it.
If there was one thing from these pitches that makes it onto the screen, I hope it’s the line “Of course she’s my daughter. she’s adopted.” It’s a great callback and a great message.

I hope they can incorporate the Enchantress at some point, she’s one of my fave Marvel villains and she’s just so cool imo
I suspect that if Sylvia ever makes her way into the MCU shell be it’s version of the Enchantress
A version of her (or her sister, maybe) appeared on Agents of SHIELD, but they dropped that from canon quickly.
It's so weird that she's not been in any of these movies honestly.
I doubt it because they already adapted the elements of Enchantress into Hela.

Super late to the party, but I died at the “I snap at turn 1” joke.
love the last pitch! please more :)
Haha, hope you enjoyed the pitch
DUDE THOSE WERE INCREDIBLE
also 36:20 its the 13th element not metal whoops
I don't care what anyone says, that bright/shiny blue/red/gold Thor suit is awesome.
Wait, Darryl produces Bluey?! All my dreams are finally coming true!
This (the main pitch) is the best idea for a Thor movie ever. I’m literally crying. (I’m also a softie, so…)
I love the Chaos War idea, but I gotta have my Beta Ray
im surprised no one has ever mentioned, that the best song for thor would be "Thunderstruck" by ACDC
Can we bring the bleached eyebrows back for Thor ? 😂😂😂
Hey, we HAVE Enchantress!
...'s little sister
...in Agents of Shield
The idea of Feige texting a TH-camr to get pitches, then receiving them through TH-cam videos.
