Big Hero 6 and the Incredibles deserve a full ongoing comic treatment, either from Marvel or someone else. Such rich universes that deserve way more story that could be told way better in comics than in films.

I am not surprised by the Chris Claremont run being so weird. He is actually known for that in the comic book community. I remember reading in a trade paper back of some of his collected works that he would send in side stories all the time of things like "The Adventure of Lupe, Loki's Illegal Immigrant Maid", for editors to sift through the non-sequitur until they found the real work.

IMO, Chris Clairmont was never as good at humor or whimsy as he thought he was but the success of Excalibur in the 80's kind of emboldened him to do humor stuff on occasion. So I think C.C.'s BH6 was an honest attempt at whimsy/parody complete with humorous catchphrases. That's about the nicest thing I can say about it. The stuff Clairmont did in the latter part of his career has been fairly consistently awful.
Big hero 6 comics is a good concept with many untapped potential, but misdirected so badly(especially the original one). For me, they have a good roster with relatable character if you ask me. Like Hiro that has a dead father and uses his own father’s brain for baymax to work. For me, they can play with the story arks and transitions, like for example the relationship of Hiro and silver samurai and the passing of leadership. Ps. I like that nano bag... too OP

I am not surprised by the Chris Claremont run being so weird. He is actually known for that in the comic book community. I remember reading in a trade paper back of some of his collected works that he would send in side stories all the time of things like "The Adventure of Lupe, Loki's Illegal Immigrant Maid", for editors to sift through the non-sequitur until they found the real work.
I really like the Big Hero 6 animated movie, so thank you for telling me where I can find more Big Hero 6. Hope the show gets a complete season 1 release soon. The history of this team is very interesting, and I think you did a good job conveying it. Great video Drake!

IMO, Chris Clairmont was never as good at humor or whimsy as he thought he was but the success of Excalibur in the 80's kind of emboldened him to do humor stuff on occasion.
So I think C.C.'s BH6 was an honest attempt at whimsy/parody complete with humorous catchphrases.
That's about the nicest thing I can say about it. The stuff Clairmont did in the latter part of his career has been fairly consistently awful.
I'm so happy this is finally addressed. Nobody believed me that BH6 was a comic series first. I cried.

Mama-san is not related to the regular Japanese honorifics, but it is a nickname for a burdel owner.
Big hero 6 comics is a good concept with many untapped potential, but misdirected so badly(especially the original one). For me, they have a good roster with relatable character if you ask me. Like Hiro that has a dead father and uses his own father’s brain for baymax to work.
For me, they can play with the story arks and transitions, like for example the relationship of Hiro and silver samurai and the passing of leadership.
