I'm not sure if I responded on this video when you first released it. That story of seasons RPG I highly recommend. It's a lot of fun and there's some funny characters that you play along with. It really does pull you in. I I do say it is definitely one of the story of seasons games that is very much worth playing. It's more RPG than it is a forming sim. I mean that that aspect is there but the real meat and potatoes is the RPG. Also I waited and waited and waited for years for Oasis to come to switch and then I finally bit the bullet and got it for 3DS. I had played the demo but I really was hoping that we would get it on switch. I still think eventually it's going to come to a platform in the future
Wow your game collection is awesome. I just started collecting 3ds games and you have a lot of the ones I want. So far I have Ever Oasis, Bravely Default and Ocarina of time
@@orbalology the one piece games are awsome what are you talking about not that great i mean are you sure you re a huge one piece fan cause i cant tell
what a great collection. your voice is so relaxing, it makes really good unintentional ASMR. Also regarding some specific games mentioned in the video: The Alliance Alive on 3DS and Switch are the same content-wise. I've not played either version myself but from what i understand it's meant to fix a lot of the flaws from Legend of Legacy. Conception II has a really interesting, unique position-based battle system. It's worth trying the game out for that alone. I defo recommend 7th Dragon III. The game is developed by a lot of experienced SEGA staff and has some really unique classes and atmosphere. if you like it, all the other 7th Dragon games have fan translations.
Thank you! And you bring up a lot of good points on these games! For The Alliance Alive I knew they did some HD remastering on the graphics but was curious if anything else may have changed. It's good to know that content-wise things remained the same for both versions. It also sounds like it may be best to play this one before Legend of Legacy too with the development improvements. Conception II has a bit of a bad rep which may be where my initial hesitancy stemmed from, but also good to know that the battle system is unique and worthwhile! That certainly makes it much more appealing for me. And yay! I'm glad to hear that you really enjoyed 7th Dragon III too, I may need to bump it up my list on which 3DS games I should prioritize playing. And thanks for letting me know that fan translations for the unlocalized games are available - I will need to look into that after trying this one out and seeing how it goes :)
I'm playing Kirby Robobot and I've never thought I can like it because I usualy play shooter games but it's so amazing the number of good ideas that are in this game and the designs are amazing and the gameplay is so smooth and relaxing. It is one of the best game I've ever played 🙂
Hi Emily. I recently subscribed to your channel and have been binge watching your older videos like this one. It’s great to see how you and your channel has evolved and grown. I’m old school and have a pen and notepad writing down a lot of your recommendations. Unfortunately, the prices for a lot of the games you’ve posted on older videos have skyrocketed or are difficult to find. It’s crazy to see what things are going for! Just wanted to thank you for posting your content and I’ll keep watching for any current gems I should jump on before I FOMO 😉
I’m just getting back into 3DS collecting and you reminded me of so many games I need to buy! I just ordered radiant Historia while I was watching your video!
The amount of sealed games you have is amazing, the amount of value in your collection alone is crazy. Would be tough for me to open up many! Might even be worth playing backups instead of opening some.... Oh and you absolutely must play the Layton games. One of my favorite series.
tbh I'll probably end up opening most of these 😅 But I really want to get into the Layton series. I've been looking into the older DS games as well and I may try to start some of those before getting to Miracle Mask.
Came here from your feature on The Gaming Shelf's most recent video! Started to really like video game haul videos these past years and your channel is perfect for that, along with your great choices in the game you chose for his video as well! Looking forward to more, keep up the great work Emily!
Very nice Atlus collection! I definitely recommend getting the Etrian Odyssey games. It’s actually a lot of drawing out the map yourself. I looooove the Theatrhythm games. So addictive. I’ve heard so many good things about Fire Emblem, but have yet to try one.
Oh I hope you give some of the FE games a go, either Awakening or Echoes would be good places to start imo! And for Etrian Odyssey I still need to track down a copy of Nexus & the exclusive DS game and I'll have them all haha
I've been snagging atlus on 3ds and PS consoles. That's actually why I looked up one of your other vids on psvita! It feels cool knowing I'm not the only weirdo amassing 3ds! Keep up the good work!
Don’t feel too bad for all of the ones you haven’t played yet, I am the same way! As an adult I find my ability to collect games far exceeds my time to play them. I still chip away at the backlog though, even on old systems! I achieve this by cycling through my systems one game per system at a time.
Yup I definitely fall under a similar pattern! Last year I wasn't the best at diversifying my systems so I'm hoping to be a bit more conscious of that to will help with chipping away the backlog this year :)
You have a absolute amazing collection and display low your knowledge and in-depth details of ever title it’s amazing 😀😀🙏🏻 it’s hard to have a backlog because more just keep coming 😅 ☺️
Recently discovered your channel. I find these videos to be EXTREMELY entertaining, informative, and relaxing! Subscribed and looking forward to seeing more!!
For this sealed Prof. Layton Game ... Don't miss the oportunity to download the additional puzzles (DLC), before the e-shop closes! So keeping this game sealed will seal those additional puzzles for good as well ... 😅 (To be specific: You actually unlock those additional puzzles, they are already on the cartridge.)
@@orbalology Yeah. Just keep in mind that the e-shop for 3DS closes soon. Right now I'm working my way through all the 3DS games with DLC. 😅 This issue might even be worth a video ...? 😏 Fortunately with the Layton games ... you can download / unlock the additional puzzles right from the start; you don't have to finish the game. The only exception: Prof. Layton & Phoenix Wright. You need to beat the game in order to unlock bonus puzzles ... 🙈 So you see ... for some games time is running short if you wanna get the DLC ... before it's gone for good. 😔 Have a nice day! ✋😃
You have a bunch of good ones including my 3 favorites, Stella glow, fantasy life and dragon quest 8. Even played through the bravely default games a few times. Going to start Stella glow again tomorrow for the 5th time, been like a year so I’m about due
You're like me, I love ❤️ collecting 3DS/DS & Switch JRPGs. I've managed to pickup all of the Etrian Odyssey games on 3DS/DS recently except for the first 2 on DS. If a game is out of your price range, do what I do... I use Zip pay or PayPal pay in 4, so you don't have to pay for it all upfront, making payments is great for me. It's how I got Etrian Odyssey III, it's quite pricey. Also I reccomend the Shantae games, all of them are awesome. You have a very nice 3DS collection & I enjoyed watching!
Very impressive collection! The 3DS is a huge favorite of mine, a great Jrpg machine that got me started in the genre and I never looked back! I still have plenty of games I need to get to there, much like you, so easy to collect for but hard to find time to play all these huge jrpgs hehe!
I'm actually pretty jealous of your 3DS collection LOL I only have Shin Megami Tensei IV and Dragon Quest VII (both great games!) then the rest of my games are digital or on a flash cart. Particularly the Shin Megami Tensei games are what I'm jealous of, they are very expensive now on eBay. I also want to get more Fire Emblem games!
Yeah she's got a very nice collection. Reminds me of my beefy PS1 and PS2 library. I'm too broke these days for many games any more sadly. Cost of living and adult responsibilities like mortgage, cars, and bills really eat into that gaming budget. And games aren't getting cheap like they used to be.
Fantastic collection! I am right around this many titles too. This year was a kinda final mad rush to get the last few I knew I’d regret not picking up. I really need to pickup Alliance Alive. And I’m so stoked you’re having fun with Devil Survivor!
Oh gosh this is an early video & I may have ramped up my 3DS collecting since this 😅😂 Alliance Alive is really great btw! I've recently been playing the 3DS version & the characters really shine here! I'm fully engrossed in the story so far :)
I found your channel by searching 3DS in 2022. Great JRPG collection (my fav genre) and my favorite handheld system. Just subscribed to your channel, keep up the great work!
Some fantastic games there, do try SMT IV again (you're spot on about Apocalypse, I played it first and it was fine, just some subtlety on the background of a few characters is missing!) it's worth getting it done before you go and spoil yourself and set crazy high expectations from SMT V on Switch if you haven't already played it
Pokèmon moon was my first pokemon game on the 3DS and I Absolutely loved it. Think i’ve played it 3 times already. The differences between moon and ultra moon are minimal, so if you haven’t played any yet I would definitely start there! Also Absolutely love the layton games. I know it goes for crazy money right now, but the Azran legacy is such a good game. You have collected a beautiful collection there! One to be very proud of 🥰 maybe you could make a video with your knowledge about games to buy before the e-shops closes next month? You know so much! Love watching your video’s ☺️👌🏽
I was thinking of doing a follow-up video covering which games I need to buy and/or progress through to unlock special DLC. I haven't decided if that's worth covering in it's own video yet - there are quite a number of these already on YT that are probably much more thorough 😅
Thanks! Yeah I'll be looking into some studio lights eventually. I'm going to be moving in the near future so I wanted to wait a little bit longer before picking some up.
@@orbalology just moved myself, getting the game room situated and will probably make a video on it as well. If you're ever interested in doing a collab, let me know 👍 talk some hidden gems.
Game room set-ups are always fun! And thanks for the collab offer! I'm pretty new in this space so I feel like I should focus on building up my upload library with some video ideas I've had rattling around in my head. But we can maybe look into something after I feel a bit more set on my feet :)
Excellent collection. Looks a lot like mine. If you are into dungeon crawlers I strongly recommend pick up the Etrian Odyssey games. Excellent gameplay, a little hard but very satisfying to play and a great artstyle. I strongly recommend to start with Etrian Odyssey IV even before the Persona Q ones.
Funnily enough I actually just picked up Etrian Odyssey IV recently. But I'll take your suggestion and be sure to try that one out before getting to the Persona Q ones :)
If I was a betting man. I would bet that you like RPGs 😀 Great collection. Some of those games are worth gold btw. Unfortunately alot of your games haven't released physically in Europe where I live.
Haha and you'd be right on the money! I knew that SMT IV never released physically in Europe for some strange reason, what were the other ones if you don't mind me asking?
Very cool! Tons of games I have never heard of until now, and it really makes me realize how many hidden gems are on the 3DS. Which is pretty grim since these games are gonna skyrocket in price over the coming years now like what happened with the DS. 😢
The 3DS is really rich in a lot of niche JRPGs & a few other neat titles. Would be nice if Nintendo looks into some sort of remastering/port system for at least a few more of these titles but I'm not too optimistic :(
I started incorporating more official trailers/gameplay footage is some of my other videos where I talk about a few games at a time. Unfortunately some of the 3DS games have very limited gameplay footage available on youtube - especially for some of the older titles. I also don't have one of those special modded systems that can output gameplay, but I've been looking into better ways to edit these large collection type videos for my upcoming updates 😅
Cool collection, I’m on the fence about fragrant story, but I did pre-order Andro Dunos 2, which the US version is still coming, but some people somehow, some way already have theirs. I can’t recommend SMT IV enough. The story and characters are so interesting, it just makes you see the world differently after playing it. Apocalypse is really good as well. Not so much a sequal, as it takes place at the same time as SMT IV. It’s more like a story that is running at the same time as SMT IV. Strangely enough, gameboy and game gear games are awesome on 3DS. The screen makes them look their best, and the control layout just works really well. Pilotwings makes good use of the 3D feature and was still cheap last time I checked. I’m alone in this, but I loved Soul Hackers, even if the ending was a little underwhelming.SMT strange journey redux is good too. The gunvolt collection is worth it too.
Thanks! And yes I will definitely be trying out SMT IV again. I don't think I had it in my 3DS for more than 10 minutes like 8 years ago so I definitely need to give it another go. The entire premise sounds super interesting, as does Apocalypse now! Thanks for correcting me, it'll be interesting to see how they approach that story as an alternative timeline after the original. These are also all good suggestions - I've been meaning to give the eshop another look to see what else I should pick up before the closure. I was also wondering for Gunvolt do you think it's better to get those on the 3DS vs. the Switch? Does the 3D aspect push it ahead of the port (at least I'm assuming it's a simple port on the Switch)?
@@orbalology I have not tried the Switch version yet. Where it is a 2D side scroller, I didn't really notice any significant use of the 3D. So I would guess it is more an issue of which version is easiest to find, at the best price. Both the 3DS and switch do side scrollers well, so it might be more an issue of preference. The games that make the most of the 3D, would be titles like pilotwings, starfox, some of the sega 3D classics. To be honest, I almost never use the 3D. I wouldn't say correcting. SMT Apocalypse is something unique. The story starts about 1/2 way through the story of 4, uses a lot of the same maps, but it takes its own turns. So it's kind of a sequal, and kind of a very large side story. Starting SMT 4 is daunting if you haven't played the previous games. It starts off difficult , but gets less difficult as it goes on. Story wise it has little to no connection to 1 ,2, if..., or 3. I don't remember much in the way of references to them. Apocalypse has DLC that features characters from 1,2, and 3.
I love Devil Survivor Overclocked. It was my first SMT game too and I also picked Yuzu's route first. I had a lot of trouble because I managed to unlock 4 or 5 routes to choose from during my first playthrough and left one save slot right before the choice, had one save down another route that had a split choice too, so I had one save there and I had an earlier save that cut off a different route, so I played through the endings without saving. Yuzu I beat, but I lost the route where you challenge God on the extra day that was added for this version on the final battle. Haven't picked it up since, but I think I'll go try it again now that you mention the game, cause it was one of my favorite 3DS games and I really do want to play the other routes
The game is really great and I've been enjoying the sequel recently. I wasn't a big fan of how long it takes to branch out to the alternative routes so I'll probably need to wait a bit for it to feel semi-fresh again on my next playthrough.
@@orbalology Yeah, I played it back in, I think, 2013. After I got through my first ending, I took a break and went back for more after a few months. Now that it's been nearly a decade (my gosh how the time flies) I am ready to go in with a fresh playthrough and I want to get the Atsuro ending
For Pokémon I would say play ultra moon first for your first experience with sun and moon.if you play moon first then ultra will be a drag for mostly the beginning of the story since it’s very similar and this game has a very slow start also.I would recommend playing moon months apart from playing ultra moon once you get a Pokémon itch again for that alternative ending since the ending is different.
@@orbalology hey would you be willing to make a video describing devil survivor 2 when you finish the game.I would like to know more about that series in general.
Sure, I can look into doing something. I'm not sure when I'll be getting around to the 2nd game but I'm going to try to aim to have both finished within the next month or two. I'm also leaning towards making monthly overview type videos where I talk about the games I've picked up & played for each month. So at the very least I'll most likely be covering those games on there :)
Shovel Knight is on my radar! I'm still debating whether to get it for the 3DS or Switch actually. But the thick manual and 3D aspect makes the 3DS version very appealing. For digital games I still have a few on my list. I'm planning to pick up some of those Ace Attorney games to take advantage of the recent Capcom sale. And there are a few other popular titles like Attack of the Friday Monsters and Gurumin I'm going to try to get before the eshop closes. Are there any digital gams that you are still looking to get or would recommend? :)
@@orbalology based off of your love of DQ and tactics games you should check out Dragon Quest Wars. Thankfully I'm about done with ds/3ds collecting. I just a few more starforce games.
That's one I haven't looked into, thanks for the rec! It does sound right up my alley. And nice - hope you'll be able to snag those remaining star force DS games for decent prices sometime soon!
@@orbalology I'll probably end up biting the bullet and getting them from ebay. Personally I really like the depth on shovel knight when the 3d is used. I fully recommend that version.
Oof, best of luck! Sometimes that's the only thing we can do. It'll feel good to finally be done though! And yeah the 3D looks like it was really well done for Shovel Knight. That alone makes it definitely worthwhile. I'll just have to hunt down a copy for a decent price now 😂
Yeah like I wish I had a very good memory but even though I don't there are things like that story of seasons RPG that I know for sure like I had a lot of fun with. That the characters you meet along the way the places you go it's just it's an overall it's a really fun game. I think it's like in in my opinion one of the underrated ones. That a lot of people either don't know about or haven't played because they don't know how good it is. So I'm just back to respond one more time that this is a game you need to play if you haven't
50 3DS games, I couldn't make it past 20 games. I only played 16 3DS games & ALL of them were physical copies from the store. Pokémon games(8) Pokémon X Pokémon Y Pokémon Omega Ruby Pokémon Alpha Sapphire Pokémon Sun Pokémon Ultra Sun Pokémon Moon Pokémon Ultra Moon Mario games(6) Mario Kart 7 Super Mario 3D Land New Super Mario Bros 2 Super Mario Maker 3DS Mario Party: Star Rush Mario Party: The Top 100 Random 3DS games(2) Lego Marvel Avengers Tomodachi Life The only time I get games is November & December. I stopped buy'in 3DS games after 2019 because Nintendo discontinued the 3DS line on Wednesday September 16th, 2020 & I got my Nintendo Switch on December 25th, 2020.
Nice collection ya got going on there! I have been collecting a lot for 3DS last couple years. I’ve bought a game here and there over the last 9 years but haven’t got super serious until last few. I recently picked up the Zero Escape series. I have a feeling those will continue to rise, but I only collect to play and have physical copies of the games I enjoy. I am happy I did buy some titles over the years, that would be harder to track down as cheap these days. I really wanted to give the shin megami tensei games a try but I just can’t get into them. Not sure what’s wrong with me. lol probably just that I’m not great at RPG’s Anyway, great video! Your collection is amazing!
Thanks! And it's great that you were able to slowly build up your collection over the years. That's really the best way to go about it. For SMT which ones did you try if I may ask? I think your milage may vary with certain titles especially if you're new to the series. Personally I found the Devil Survivor games a really great entry point, so you may want to try those if they look interesting to you. But if not no worries! Sometimes we don't always click with games, even the ones that people like to hype up :)
@@orbalology I tried SMT 4. I will definitely try the Devil Survivor ones! I’m not ready to give up yet. I love the art style of the games, and honestly what got me even interested was the fact that it’s where Jack Bros. Started I think. Lol I love my virtual boy and Jack Bros is one of my favs.
Oh yeah I think Jack Bros is a spin off title in the SMT universe! And I hope you find success with the Devil Survivor games. The 3DS version of the first one adjusted the difficulty level and is much more beginner friendly compared to the original DS version from my understanding. The story is pretty engaging and I really liked the mix of tactics and more traditional turn-based combat. A really nice package overall for that JRPG experience :)
@@orbalology I love how you answer, and not just toss replies aside. I can tell you have a passion for gaming and collecting. It’s not your life, but you like it. I’m the same…I play to relax and collect for fun and passion as well. I’ll definitely give the SMT Devil games a whirl. I really want to get into different games. I have actually picked up on some strategy gaming lately and finding out I really like them. I’m talking about Suoer Robot wars/taisen series and both project x zone games. Love the anime style they both bring. I have a modded 3DS so I can try almost any title. If I really like it, I track down a physical copy. I don’t love emulating by any means, but it is cool to try titles out. I’m more of a physical collector all the way: I have 4 3DS’s, a DS, a re-shelled with brighter screen GBC, and 2 GBA systems. I wanna display it all proudly eventually, and make a video about it all.
If you've been getting into strategy games recently I have a feeling the SMT Devil Survivor games will work out well :) And agreed, modded systems are great especially when the physical editions are less feasible to come by. And also to try out to see if a game suits your tastes. There's something about physical collecting that is so satisfying and rewarding, so I try to grab games that I like whenever possible as well. But happy hunting and good luck with your system display! I'm hoping to set one up myself eventually after I move later this year.
I haven't dabbled much into survival horror outside of Bioshock & RE4 on the PS2 but been meaning to try out more. Would you say the RE Revelations is best on the 3DS or to go with one of the other console remakes?
@@orbalology I've only played it on 3ds and switch, and, i have to say, it's a bit hard for me to go back to the 3ds' smaller screen after playing it on switch. strictly for collecting purposes, though, the 3ds copy has a proper, lengthy color manual which is nice.
This was a great video, I really like your collection! I am extremely envious of your Radiant Historia and Alliance Alive editions. If you enjoy, or are interested in Lord of Magna, I highly recommend Stella Glow. It has a somewhat similar story, but it's a Strategy RPG with multiple endings. As someone else said, Etrian Odyssey games are great if you enjoy dungeon-crawlers, they have a lot of personality, with great artwork and soundtracks.
Thank you! I've heard a lot of great things about Stella Glow so I'm very excited to give it a go, along with the Etrian Odyssey games. I picked up a few recently and will probably try out IV first.
Yeah I'm sad to see the 3DS officially close it's chapter soon. There are so many great games that I'm afraid won't ever get ported anywhere else in the future.
my favorite game on the 3ds is kid icarus. I really enjoy the story in this one. and it seems Atlus remaking their ds games to the 3ds like SMT games and raident histora. I never heard about fragrant story.
I've heard really good things about Kid Icarus Uprising, though the controls can be a bit hit or miss for some it seems. I've been keeping an eye out for a decently priced physical copy (within my price range) but I'm not sure if finding one will be possible at this point so I may need to cop for the digital before the eshop closes 😅 And yep, a lot of the Atlus DS games got ported over/enhanced for the 3DS. Fragrant Story is an interesting game, though I think in many cases it's best to look into the $4 digital version over the physical. The physical is more of a novelty collection piece than a full fleshed-out game.
I actually feel the same about majora’s mask! Great game and all but I never want to replay it because of the time limit aspect of it. Came to realize over the years that I just dont like games that have a time limit (like this or stardew valley for example), or games based on real days (like animal crossing for example). All great games! But I just cant do it :(
Yup, I understand! I like to take my time in games and explore around, and for Majora's mask I felt pressured not to do that at times which dampened the experience for me.
The world edition is basically how Nintendo sold their first party games to a region that didn't have their own eshop available (e.g. UAE, Singapore, Malaysia, etc.). These physical copies were released well after Japan, North America, and Europe launched their games I believe. But instead of making entirely new games for this demographic they reprinted North American versions to serve this purpose. So Nintendo just basically took North American cartridges and placed them inside cases with slightly altered cover art. This is why you see a lot of brand new 'world' editions still in circulation in North America, long after these games were initially released here.
While both of these games take place in the same world, the mechanic where you fuse into the walls is very unique for ALBW. You still go back and forth between worlds but if you like isometric action games it's a great title.
so when it comes to World Editions, those are ones that will not be high in value? What's wrong with the world edition, I do not fully understand yet see that on Amazon as well
I covered this in a more recent video if you're interested in learning more about World editions. There's nothing wrong with them but they're more accessible brand new on the market right now and some collectors deem them less 'collectible' compared to the standard editions. For this and a few other reasons. But other than that the carts are exactly the same as the standard editions.
I'm new here. You have such a good collection. Those jrpgs are usually the most expensive and hardest ones to find. I started my collection not long ago, before I only got pokemon games. But now I'm trying to make it grow. But i find myself in difficult position to find many RPGs on decent prices :( specially in Mexico, it looks even harder.. How much did the FE Special edition cost you? It's the second rarest game Btw, I'm new to the channel ^^
Thanks! I hope you can find some of the jrpgs you're looking for. It's been increasingly difficult these days unfortunately. I bought the FE special edition a few years ago for ~$150, which I thought was expensive at the time but prices now are pretty crazy 😅
I bought this from a 3rd party seller on amazon that popped up randomly a couple months ago. Unfortunately it doesn't look like there are anymore available on there now.
Lord of Magna, 7th dragon lll, are great games. I didn’t like legend of legacy just because of the combat you can’t pick the enemy you want to hit and the characters felt boring I played for 2 hours stop and sold it. I recommend Rhythm thief, metal gear 3 and Metroid Samus returns.
Hmm yeah I probably won't get around to Legend of Legacy for awhile. I confess I mostly bought it because I like collecting those special launch editions and I think Food4Dogs highly recommended it so I'll give it a shot at some point. But good to know that you really enjoyed all those games - I've been meaning to get the digital version of Rhythm Thief before the eshop closes actually.
Awesome collection. A game was just released called fragrant story. I would suggest picking it up. Going to be worth a bunch down the road and very hard to find os my guess
Where are you picking up brand new 3ds games in 2022 that are not world editions. Would love to know since been very hard getting some of the hard to find games
I mentioned some stores in a few of my past videos. I've had some luck with some Canadian online shops like video games plus and PNP games that ship internationally. The third party games don't have u.a.e/world editions so buying those blindly on Amazon or eBay should be fine.
@@orbalology thank you so much for these names. I have been pretty skeptical getting games from amazon its always been a hit or miss for me for first party games some were world editions which i did not want. Btw great videos looking forward to more subscribers joining this 👍👍! Love the top 10 game content, looking forward for more of those! Thanks again
Mario & Luigi Dream Team is considered one of the weaker entries in the series, but I enjoy the gameplay. But I think if you like the general humor and combat mechanics, it's worth trying the 3DS remake games and Paper Jam is only if you can't get enough of the series. Kirby Epic Yarn is also cute, but not really a Kirby game in anything other than name and character. Triple Deluxe should tell you if you're into the franchise or not. BIG WARNING for Virtues Last Reward 3DS. The game is great and the 3D is pretty nice if you ask me (though you'd probably prefer the Vita's resolution), but it has a game breaking bug if you save in select escape rooms. Never save and exit the game in an escape room, otherwise you could lose your save data. It happened to me twice. Not fun starting over a VN 30 hours into the playthrough, so I'd recommend the Vita version or the PS4 collection if you're okay with giving up the touch screen controls for the escape rooms
Oh ok good to know about the Mario & Luigi and Kirby games. For The Zero Escape series I think I'm just going to go for the Vita games now. They seem to be a bit easier to get ahold of compared to the DS/3DS games and it'll be good to not have to worry about the game breaking bug you mentioned.
I'll admit that party games are generally not games I tend to pick up. For Sonic, I've heard mixed things about the more recent ones - which Sonic game on the 3DS would you recommend?
I somehow ended up with no physical 3DS games. I remember driving around the city and nobody was ever stocking the new 3DS releases I wanted on release week, so I just bought games digitally and it ended up being every game I own. I don't know what was up because I live in one of the biggest cities in America. I'd recommend Alliance Alive on Switch just for the bigger screen and higher resolution, it's an ok game, but has some rough edges. Stella Glow though, I just played the demo, but the demo turned unsold me so much with the paperthin euphemism for making the elemental waifus orgasm to power them up. That is by far the cringiest game I've come across
Oh interesting about Stella Glow. I keep hearing a lot of JRPG fans singing it praises and how the fanservice wasn't too bad. But your description is too funny - I thought the star baby making in Conception II was the most extreme localized fanservice on the 3DS but maybe not 😂
@@orbalology like I said it was a demo, so maybe tuning future girls is less suggestive or maybe I was reading too much into the stepsister girl complaining about her body being hot and her head and heart racing directly after being tuned. I don't remember the character designs being too gratuitous, so maybe that's what some people mean when they say there wasn't too much fan service. I've not played or seen much of conception, so I don't know what that's like.
I actually prefer the 3DS version of Xenoblade, lol. Not because it's better. I just like the 3D and really appreciate the original faces not being kinda generic anime looking (though this is really only an issue for Shulk, from what I've played). Mainly, the inconsistent resolution on the Switch version bugs me too much, and I get frustrated that the game runs so poorly when it was a remaster of a Wii game. I can't stop thinking of how much less optimized it is than Monolith's work on Xenoblade X on the Wii U and it just kills my buzz every time I try to start it up. Also, I felt like Fiora having limited fashion clothes options kinda spoils the fact that she isn't a permanent character in the first chapter of the game, since Ryen and Shulk have the full list visible (even if it just has blank entries for the majority of the list). I hate when games do stuff like that because I feel like it tells me not to get attached to certain characters. It's a game design pet peeve of mine (my other bigger one is auto-party wipes if the MC gets KOed in games built around teams where other characters are healers, stops me from enjoying Persona or other such games since I usually like to build my MCs as glass canons)
That's interesting about Xenoblade 3D - I don't remember the resolution being too bad on the Switch version but I was playing on handheld only. Though maybe I was giving it some leeway because I knew it was a remastered wii game - I don't quite remember. I also don't remember noticing that detail about clothing options for Fiora but I can see how that would be a bit disappointing. Though maybe they were trying to throw us off for what was coming in the latter part of the game 🤔 Though tbh it was probably just one of those oversights you see in some of the older games.
@@orbalology Yeah, though the fashion clothes was a new feature of this version. The original you had to wear the gear you equipped. You had some characters looking quite a mess and it was hilarious. Idk, I'm probably just nostalgic for that era of gaming lately, I just couldn't get into Xenoblade 1 with DE when I tried to show my wife one of my favorite games that I've replayed multiple times before with no problems.
I feel you. Sometimes it could be hard to revisit past favorite in remastered versions when they don't quite feel the same. This is one reason why I'm hesitant about some of the remastered games that have been circulating in the rumor mill. While it's nice to play a lot of these games on modern consoles it's another thing to see how nostalgia can cloud our memories 😅
@@orbalology Agreed. Or how modern remasters or remakes may butcher the experience or undermine what made the original great, like how the GTA remasters made the characters and cities look a mess, or how Majora's Mask 3D nerfed the Zora swimming, ice arrows, and deku link spinning, among other issues. I think Xenoblade did a pretty good job, but some stuff just took me out of it, like the new designs for the characters feel far more anime while the world still feels as realistic as ever, and that just takes me out of the experience. I love so many of the new facial expressions, but I wish they had gone a more X direction with it than 2, and left the colors alone.
3ds has such a unique library of games and i never know which one to buy next
Wow what a collection. Awesome to see another woman enjoying the same kinda games as myself.
Thanks! These games are all pretty great, glad to hear that you enjoy them as well :)
Awesome game collection, great video. Btw you have a very relaxing voice, you should make an asmr channel lol
So far I have Ever Oasis, Bravely Default and Ocarina of time
Thanks! Those three are great titles to own - best of luck with building up the rest of your 3DS library :)
@@orbalology the one piece games are awsome what are you talking about not that great i mean are you sure you re a huge one piece fan cause i cant tell
what a great collection. your voice is so relaxing, it makes really good unintentional ASMR.
Also regarding some specific games mentioned in the video:
The Alliance Alive on 3DS and Switch are the same content-wise.
Soul Hackers has such a great 90s aesthetic. Loved playing through that one on 3DS.
It was cool that they ported this title to the 3ds!
Curtain call is so good, and basically renders the first one obsolete
Thank you! I really enjoy collecting so there'll be plenty of haul videos in the months to come 😂
What a nice 3DS collection do you have! Nice video :)
Thank you so much :)
Your channel is so much fun
I've been snagging atlus on 3ds and PS consoles. That's actually why I looked up one of your other vids on psvita! It feels cool knowing I'm not the only weirdo amassing 3ds! Keep up the good work!
Thanks! And good luck with all of your collecting! It's getting pretty brutal out there for Atlus collecting but their titles are worth it :)
You have a amazing collection and thanks for all the in-depth information about the games it’s great ☺️
Mr PL4Ndemic loves your 3DS collection.
Really enjoyed your video, your voice is very calming
Thanks! Glad to hear you enjoyed :)
Recently discovered your channel. I find these videos to be EXTREMELY entertaining, informative, and relaxing! Subscribed and looking forward to seeing more!!
Thank you so much! I'm glad to hear you're enjoying the videos :)
For this sealed Prof. Layton Game ...
Don't miss the oportunity to download the additional puzzles (DLC), before the e-shop closes!
So keeping this game sealed will seal those additional puzzles for good as well ... 😅
(To be specific: You actually unlock those additional puzzles, they are already on the cartridge.)
Oh thanks for the tip, I'll have to get to that one soon! I've been trying to work my way through the DS games before getting to the first 3DS title.
@@orbalology Yeah. Just keep in mind that the e-shop for 3DS closes soon. Right now I'm working my way through all the 3DS games with DLC. 😅 This issue might even be worth a video ...? 😏
Fortunately with the Layton games ... you can download / unlock the additional puzzles right from the start; you don't have to finish the game.
The only exception: Prof. Layton & Phoenix Wright. You need to beat the game in order to unlock bonus puzzles ... 🙈
So you see ... for some games time is running short if you wanna get the DLC ... before it's gone for good. 😔
Have a nice day!
✋😃
SMT Recordbreaker2 is my favourite..the character designs r all so on point n the story is amazing
I'm really excited to play that one!
Thank you! I'm in the process of picking up the last few Etrian games now. Hoping to finally get all of those soon :)
Such an awesome video! I’m recovering from a concussion and this was very informative and relaxing. Thanks so much! An awesome collection
Oh thank you! I hope you feel better soon!
Very impressive collection! The 3DS is a huge favorite of mine, a great Jrpg machine that got me started in the genre and I never looked back! I still have plenty of games I need to get to there, much like you, so easy to collect for but hard to find time to play all these huge jrpgs hehe!
Yup lol. So many great titles out there but it's been increasingly more difficult to make time for many of them, especially the long JRPGs 😅
They are all quality JRGPs! And I highly recommend the FE games, they are something really special on the 3DS :)
Awesome video and collection!
Thank you! :)
Awesome collection. I love the 3DS!
Thank you! The 3DS has a lot of solid titles. It turned out to be my big collecting focus for this year & I have no regrets :)
Great video....but you had to call Riku as Raikou? 🤣 just teasing though, I love kingdom hearts
This is super random but I love your hair color!! 🖤
Fantastic collection! I am right around this many titles too. This year was a kinda final mad rush to get the last few I knew I’d regret not picking up. I really need to pickup Alliance Alive. And I’m so stoked you’re having fun with Devil Survivor!
Oh gosh this is an early video & I may have ramped up my 3DS collecting since this 😅😂
Alliance Alive is really great btw! I've recently been playing the 3DS version & the characters really shine here! I'm fully engrossed in the story so far :)
Radiant Historia is such a great game. Great collection!
Thank you! And yes Radiant Historia is really top tier!
I found your channel by searching 3DS in 2022. Great JRPG collection (my fav genre) and my favorite handheld system. Just subscribed to your channel, keep up the great work!
Thank you! JRPGs are really some of the best games on handhelds :)
I like your videos very informative
You have a fantastic game collection!
Thank you!
Some fantastic games there, do try SMT IV again (you're spot on about Apocalypse, I played it first and it was fine, just some subtlety on the background of a few characters is missing!) it's worth getting it done before you go and spoil yourself and set crazy high expectations from SMT V on Switch if you haven't already played it
I recently picked SMT IV up again actually. Really enjoying it so far :)
Enjoyed the collection vid thanks 🙏
Thanks! Glad you enjoyed :)
Great video and awesome selection of games. Definitely got most of the best on the handheld.
Thanks! I'm really happy with what I've been able to pick up especially now with things increasingly becoming difficult by the day 😅
Pokèmon moon was my first pokemon game on the 3DS and I Absolutely loved it.
@@orbalology I would definitely watch! :)
love your collection and thank you for sharing as it has inspired me for what I pick up to grow my 3ds collection as well!
Thanks! Best of luck with your 3ds collecting 😄
great list of games, theres some budget friendly amazon lights that can help light your nice collection . keep up the solid content 👍
@@orbalology you got it 👍
Excellent collection.
I love Mario kart 7 for my 3ds is a lot of fun
Would be nice if Nintendo looks into some sort of remastering/port system for at least a few more of these titles but I'm not too optimistic :(
Love finding passionate gaming channels like this. Subbed for sure!
Thank you :)
Sería genial que trajeras gameplays de algunos juegos , realmente conozco pocos pero se ven interesantes 👏🏻
Está bien seguiré viendo los vídeos de su canal 👋🏻
Oh ok, thanks! This is all very helpful.
Great collection. I regret not buying 3ds rpg games while they were cheap
Thanks! And yeah the prices for most of the system's RPGs are getting so expensive nowadays :(
Nice collection. You don't have Kid Icarus Uprising?
Keep up the great work. You are amazing
Thanks, appreciate it! :)
I’d recommend Kid Icarus Uprising what a surprise it was imo
I actually grabbed that one a couple of months ago for a good deal, looking forward to trying it out eventually!
@@orbalology I just saw your video where you unbox it and that’s so great to see
I love Devil Survivor Overclocked.
Omg I just saw your video unboxing it. NVM don't mind me lol
No worries :)
Great, this sounds like a very reasonable approach to take with those two games. Thanks!
@@orbalology awsome then I’ll subscribe to catch it.I’m curious about those games.
Shovel knight is pretty good if you want some more platformers. Are there any digital only games you're still going after? Great collection.

Not sure what’s wrong with me. lol probably just that I’m not great at RPG’s
Anyway, great video!
If you've been getting into strategy games recently I have a feeling the SMT Devil Survivor games will work out well :)
And agreed, modded systems are great especially when the physical editions are less feasible to come by. And also to try out to see if a game suits your tastes. There's something about physical collecting that is so satisfying and rewarding, so I try to grab games that I like whenever possible as well.
But happy hunting and good luck with your system display! I'm hoping to set one up myself eventually after I move later this year.
Although now it's on every console, Resident Evil Revelations is awesome, created originally for the 3DS. Not sure if you like survival horror though.
Great video awesome game collection new sub here thanks for sharing 😀
Thanks for watching :)
Your welcome 😀
I picked up a few recently and will probably try out IV first.
nice collection
Thanks!
I’m loving the 3ds love 🥰 sadly it’s going away soon
Yeah I'm sad to see the 3DS officially close it's chapter soon. There are so many great games that I'm afraid won't ever get ported anywhere else in the future.
my favorite game on the 3ds is kid icarus. I really enjoy the story in this one. and it seems Atlus remaking their ds games to the 3ds like SMT games and raident histora. I never heard about fragrant story.
I've heard really good things about Kid Icarus Uprising, though the controls can be a bit hit or miss for some it seems. I've been keeping an eye out for a decently priced physical copy (within my price range) but I'm not sure if finding one will be possible at this point so I may need to cop for the digital before the eshop closes 😅
And yep, a lot of the Atlus DS games got ported over/enhanced for the 3DS. Fragrant Story is an interesting game, though I think in many cases it's best to look into the $4 digital version over the physical. The physical is more of a novelty collection piece than a full fleshed-out game.
Nice collection
Thank you!!
Yokai watch 2 specters is hard to get physically
I actually feel the same about majora’s mask! Great game and all but I never want to replay it because of the time limit aspect of it. Came to realize over the years that I just dont like games that have a time limit (like this or stardew valley for example), or games based on real days (like animal crossing for example). All great games! But I just cant do it :(
Yup, I understand! I like to take my time in games and explore around, and for Majora's mask I felt pressured not to do that at times which dampened the experience for me.
I didn't know there was such a thing as "world edition". What's different or special about it?
The world edition is basically how Nintendo sold their first party games to a region that didn't have their own eshop available (e.g. UAE, Singapore, Malaysia, etc.). These physical copies were released well after Japan, North America, and Europe launched their games I believe. But instead of making entirely new games for this demographic they reprinted North American versions to serve this purpose. So Nintendo just basically took North American cartridges and placed them inside cases with slightly altered cover art. This is why you see a lot of brand new 'world' editions still in circulation in North America, long after these games were initially released here.
Would you recommend A Link Between Worlds for a Zelda fan who didn't really enjoyed A Link To the Past? They are very similar, right?
While both of these games take place in the same world, the mechanic where you fuse into the walls is very unique for ALBW. You still go back and forth between worlds but if you like isometric action games it's a great title.
@@orbalology thanks for taking some time answering me. I'm already playing, the painting mechanic is a lot of fun!
sweet!
so when it comes to World Editions, those are ones that will not be high in value?
It's the second rarest game
Btw, I'm new to the channel ^^
Thanks! I hope you can find some of the jrpgs you're looking for. It's been increasingly difficult these days unfortunately. I bought the FE special edition a few years ago for ~$150, which I thought was expensive at the time but prices now are pretty crazy 😅
Could I ask where you got your Kirby Extra Epic Yarn?
I bought this from a 3rd party seller on amazon that popped up randomly a couple months ago. Unfortunately it doesn't look like there are anymore available on there now.
Nice 3ds👍🏻
I guess it's time for a 2023 version of this video 👀
are all the games sealed?
How many psychical 3ds games do you have now that 10 months has passed?
What’s wrong with world edition s?
Surprised to not see a single Mario Party game or even a Sonic game, but nice collection.
I'll admit that party games are generally not games I tend to pick up. For Sonic, I've heard mixed things about the more recent ones - which Sonic game on the 3DS would you recommend?
@@orbalology Sonic Generations is the best of the retail ones, yet it's also the shortest.
Lost World is longer, but it's QUITE an ACQUIRED taste.
Cool, I'll look into those, thanks!
I think you need to tweak your Audio or maybe you need an upgrade
Nintendo ds is cool
What part of the world are you in.
I'm located in the US.
No etrian odyssey love??
I actually picked up a few since making this video. I'm really excited to try them out - they seem like a series I would enjoy.
Conception 2 is really really good but it’s a billion times better on vita
Modding no?
i have cerebral bronchitis
You so pretty and nice collection ;)
Have you actually played any of your games?
Like you very much how you speK
