I also ended up picking up Planet Robobot recently myself after seeing how pricy it’s been getting. Ended up going with the World Edition since it was the cheapest option. Any reason why you dislike the World Editions?
I know a lot of 3DS collectors avoid them because they are considered 'less desirable' & worth less because they're still fairly available nowadays. The U.A.B/World region does not have a 3DS eshop so they only had a physical option and their physical game stock is still fairly plentiful even today. From my understanding this is because they often received their games much later compared to other regions. But my reasons are may be a bit more silly - I just don't really like how the world logo blocks the box art image on the cases. I also sort of like to have all my games with the standard NA region if I can help it too, for uniformity's sake 😅
@@orbalology That's fair and understandable, more or less how I feel when it comes to preferring black label games as opposed to their inferior greatest hits or platinum versions. Thanks! And I totally feel ya lol. There are so many great games out there I want to try but it's been increasingly difficult to make time to play them all 😅
That's a nice spreadsheet, one thing I've been really meaning to do is catalogue my collection. I'm not actively collecting for 3DS anymore but I do regret not picking up the Project X Zone games when they were more reasonably priced.
I'm kicking myself about those games too! They used to be relatively easy to come by but since they were removed from the eshop they skyrocketed up in price this past year :(
Lovely collection Emily! Of your maybes, I would definitely consider picking up the Project x Zone games. They're fantastic SRPGs and will likely get even more expensive in the future.
Thanks!! I've been kicking myself for not picking up the Project X Zone games earlier. Because they're delisted on the eshop (for licensing reasons apparently) they shot up way in price this past year. But you're right they'll likely only get more expensive so maybe best to try to get those sooner than later 😭
That spreadsheet is pretty impressive. I've just started using spreadsheets for creating budgets this year, and it's turned into this super nerdy guilty pleasure. Like, I'll sit down and spend 30 minutes tinkering with an already-completed spreadsheet. And then I complain about not having time to play the games in my collection. 🙃 Young Branden would probably just shake his head at me... But considering I don't really have a great method of tracking my game collection outside of using the built-in tools in Price Charting, I may have to try something like this.
I often feel that a part of the fun of collecting is all the planning & organizing that goes into it. So I really love spreadsheets for budgeting and tracking inventory, though you're right they can take time away from other things 😂 I've also found that making my own spreadsheets can help me be more intentional with my collecting habits, since it takes time to research & fill in all the info in my spreadsheet. But I've heard a few others enjoy some of the apps out there like Gameye.
Heroes of Ruin Is a good game. I love Code name steam. I finished my 3ds collection a long time ago then I sold half and how I am trying to get them back some are a little pricey but I got to suck it up and them. I need ten more game to finish the games I wanted for the 3ds.
Oh thanks for letting me know that you enjoyed those two titles. I don't hear many people talk about Heroes of Ruin & so many mixed things about Code Name Steam (though sometimes I wonder if a lot of the negative reviews were by people who equated poor sales with game quality and never really played it 😅). Also best of luck picking up the few titles you have left!
A collector's edition collection of go go kokopolo is coming. It will have two games physical in it. The og game that never got released physically and the one on your list also.
I'm still a bit torn if I want to get these or not. The genre isn't usually something that I gravitate to but I'll need to investigate more gameplay footage before I decide.
Nice collection and the one left are relatively easy to get. About the consoles you should really try to hunt a regular size New 3DS. Imo is the perfect model between the Regular and the XL models.
I had the other Mario & Luigi games listed on my maybes. I think most of the world editions will still be easy to get after the 3DS eshop closes so I'll try not be too pressed about getting the standard NA editions for those. Unless I come across those editions for reasonable prices. (ah I see you edited this part lol). And you're right the interchangeable faceplates & size on the New 3DS models are really neat. I've been scoping out a few on the Japanese sites but waiting to find certain plate designs before I dive into those.
Nice collection. I have almost the same games as you 😄 I don't know if you already have it but I can suggest you Fossil fighters frontier, it's a pokemon like with digging up fossil twist, really liked this game. LBX little battlers experience, made by level-5 always classic 😁, good story and alot robot customization. Dragon ball fusions, a rpg surprised me how good it is and Etrian mystery dungeon is the best rogue like game I ever play, the difficulty is very balanced.
Oh I've heard about the Fossil Fighters series - there were some mixed reviews on the 3DS entry in particular so I've been a bit hesitant about it. But I'll look at some more reviews again and see if I can find it for a decent price! Along with your other suggestions, thanks :)
I think the bad review can be explain because frontier is not the best of the serie. I can compare it to Mario paper sticker star, it's a good game but it will be never as good as thousand year door. Fossil fighter frontier is not a perfect game and a bit "cliché" at the beginning but I feel this game very unique experience by digging fossil with time and don't break the bone. I really enjoy my time in Fossil fighters frontier, for me it's 8/10 game and I'm really happy to have it to my collection. Don't let bad review miss this hidden gem. If you are interested in this game you should buy before the prices go crazy 😁
I love this ❤️. I use an app for keeping track of what I've already collected, completed, personal reviews etc and it's great - but the functionality for what I'm yet to get just doesn't work for me aesthetically. Literally just this morning, I started an excel spreadsheet for all the games I'm currently after but haven't fleshed it out yet, so i hope you don't mind but I'm definetly going to steal the design of this and amalgamate it into mine 😁. It's a compliment I promise!
Oh feel free to take anything from my spreadsheets! I actually provided a link to a simplified template in the description if you want to refer to that :)
heroes of Ruin is a must get it's basically a portable Diablo and even has microphone support! you hold the L button to talk to your teammates. triforce heroes good too like ya said if ya can get some ppl for multiplayer.
Curious if the spelling of “counsoles” was intentional in the header of that 3DS sheet. Never have I seen a u included. Love the document and I may replace my own with yours lol
I want to get some more 3ds. The eshop will be closing up soon. So physical 3ds games are more important than ever if you want to play them. People hate on physical games. But not me. Very nice collection.
Thanks! Yeah the eshop is closing next year and I think a lot of people don't realize you can link your switch account to your 3ds and add funds that way so physical prices will probably continue skyrocketing after this month :(
I really loved the way you divides it by genres and franchises. Your collection is amazing. Mine is barely 16 games 😅 and those Atlus games are quite expensive, also those Dragon quest,🥺 Yokai watch 3 is said to be the best, but it's crazy expensive. Also I've head that Warioware gold is the best in the series, i enjoyed the DS's one (touched!) A lot when I was 13-14. Idk why I love the 3Ds that much, but most of those games are like 60 usd ;( which is a lot. I may go for fire emblem ones, i could find them in better price. I think I need to make a plan 😅
Thanks! Yeah there's something really satisfying with collecting 3DS games, maybe it's the boxes (and different spine art lol). I hope you can grab some of the FE games! They're some of the best on the system :)
This was such an interesting video!!💯🔥❤️ I also have an Excel database of all my games and I have a borderline unhealthy obsession with tinkering and playing with it🤗 I'm also wrapping up my 3DS collection and I capped my physical games at exactly 50 (it's like it was meant to be!😃). It's also nice that as 50 is an even number, I can stack the games in neat piles on my shelf😂☺️💕 Just out of curiosity, is the 3DS special edition you're thinking of importing the Fire Emblem Fates one? Oh man, what wouldn't I give to merely lay my eyes on one...🥲🖤🤍 But the New 3DS XL has sooo many gorgeous special editions - it's impossible to single out just one!
50 is a good number! I think I may eventually pare down my collection after I give some games a decent playthrough, and maybe round it off to around 60. Hopefully no regrets lol 😅 For special edition system I actually have a few in mind! I would really LOVE to get my hands on the FE Fates SE, either the New XL one or the New regular sized one with interchangeable plates (but alas I think that may be an impossible mission because they're super expensive in all regions 😭). But the special edition that I think I have a better shot at getting for not too much is the Pink One Piece regular LL. I may eventually try to get more Zelda themed ones, but I'm trying to not go too overboard 😅
You know its serious when the spreadsheets come out lol I might try your spread sheet method because I had one double copy situation and I still don't know how that happened lol
I spreadsheet everything, it's almost a personality trait at this point 😂😅 But they really come in handy especially to make sure you don't accidently buy duplicates or forget about certain titles 😄
Do you also look into replacement parts for your systems? The battery on my GBA went out and I bought replacements. I dread the day my Launch Day 3DSXL screen dies 😭😭 These systems are so great Tom Clancy's Shadow Wars is on the list, ayyee. That game is a nice fun time. I sank a couple days into it and its a fun game to get cheap
I actually started looking into a replacement battery for my new 3DS XL system. I noticed the battery life isn't lasting as long as it should. Thankfully the replacement batteries don't seem too expensive but I need to pull the trigger on one soon to test it out. And I've heard that Shadow Wars is a solid SRPG! It's nice that it's not too expensive so that's why it's on the list 😂
I always love a good spread sheet =). I recommend Triforce Heroes but only if you are going to play with people you know and if you have played/liked either of the Four Swords Zeldas. Don't get it for the story as it's not really anything of a normal Zelda story.
Thanks 😄 And yeah I've been torn about Triforce Heroes. Part of me wants it just to add another Zelda title to the collection, but I know that I will unlikely have someone to actually play it with so it may be best to skip 😅
@@orbalology Forgot to mention it is harder doing single player as well. Not impossible but nothing like doing Four Swords Adventures for the gamecube single player. The best thing going for it is at least you only need 1 copy of the game for 3 people to play it (of course 3 3ds though).
Nice 3DS collection! Especially the launch editions & Shin Megami Tensei. I would advice in keeping Virtue's last reward because much to my surprise with Zero Time Dilemma given the reception it gets. The AI success is slowly inflating prices for the Zero Escape DS entries. I kinda regret not getting the 3DS version during the Aksys store sale many years back. It's a great title to just keep as a collectible. From 1 of the best visual novel franchises out there. Stella Glow is a title I'm kinda hoping gets a reprint on VGP, cus I keep hearing great things about it. While it jumps in price by the months.
I think I'm just going to let go of the Virtue's Last Reward once I can secure a copy of the Nonary Games collection on the Vita. I heard the 3DS version has a game breaking bug when you save in some of the rooms :( I also tend to prefer the touch screen features on the Vita instead of the 3DS's stylus for visual novels (I also heard the animations look much nicer on the Vita too). Hope you can get a good deal on Stella Glow! Fingers crossed VGP comes through!
@@orbalology Had to double check, but the bug is possible on Vita too the workaround is to only save during the novel sections, and not during the escape sections.
@@orbalology No problem! I understand you don't wanna eventually hoard games. Because at some point does become an issue. Meaning you'd probably keep collections and sell single releases. I own multiple copies of a few games like No More Heroes on Wii, PS3, and Switch because I love that game & franchise a lot. I mostly say this because the market is much more rougher than before in recovering niche titles like this.
I don't know if it's true or not but the switch version of shovel knight comes with the dlc but the 3ds version may not. The know the switch version is titled treasure trove. The 3ds is just called shovel knight.
The only reason why I'm hesitating between the two versions is because I've heard the 3DS has some really cool 3D effects which makes it pretty unique for the system. But the cheaper price & added DLC makes the Switch version favorable too.
I was forced to buy the Shin Megami Tensei games on the eshop. In Europe, prices range from £140 - £200 depending on which one you get… way too much for me. The only Etrian Odyssey game I’m missing is 5, but it’s still floating around the £100 mark, so I might be able to get that one.
It's a shame how much a lot of the Atlus titles have risen within the past year alone. Hope you can find a good deal on the last Etrian Odyssey you need!
It'll be interesting in August when you can't add money through Nintendo gift cards or next year when the e-shop closes to see if these games go up in price.
I think the answer depends on your reason for collecting! I personally enjoy collecting physical game media, as they are physical representations of games I enjoy that I can pop into a system anytime I want (barring they don't get corrupted down the line - but you have less risk of this with games like 3DS carts vs. discs imo). So if there are certain titles you want to own physically for similar reasons I would say go for it! Owning physical Nintendo games also seem to hold their value over time for the most part. So if you ever decide to part with them later on that's a nice backup to have. I'll just caution you that you should make some collecting limits early on, especially with the climbing prices we've been seeing lately. There are 'alternative' ways to play these games through the modding scene and there's still a chance that remastered ports may happen so I don't recommend going for the super pricey titles unless they hold special meaning to you. And because you also collect for the Switch you have to decide how much you're willing to pay for some of the older 3DS games that will take away funds from the newer console games. I'm sorry I'm probably going too in-depth here but it never hurts to look at things through a cost-benefit analysis sort of approach 😅
@@orbalology Im only collecting games im for sure gonna play, rather than the sole reason of collecting them. I recently turned 18, so im gonna get part time to fund my hobby. I’ve looked at 3ds games i wanted such as smt and devil survivor. And wow they cost the same around a regular switch game. I also want to collect 3ds/switch because of the portability as i think it wouldn’t feel the same on pc.
The SMT games I are solid games to pick up on the 3DS! There's a small chance the mainline SMT 4/apocalypse games will get remastered ports down the line. But you should never expect much from Atlus 😂😅 The Devil Survivor games on the other hand use the dual screens in a cool way for at least the cut scenes. I prefer playing SRPGs and 'less-action-type' JRPGs on handheld too so those would definitely be worth considering imo. But best of luck with your collecting! The 3DS has a lot of gems & offers an experience you can't find elsewhere on handheld :)
Oh did Dream Team also have a red case variant? I know the other Mario & Luigi games had them. Though if I ever do get around to those I would be very tempted to swap out the red cases for a regular white ones 😅 😂

I'm kicking myself about those games too! They used to be relatively easy to come by but since they were removed from the eshop they skyrocketed up in price this past year :(
Great video! Cheers from Dubai 🥂
Thank you! 😄
So I really love spreadsheets for budgeting and tracking inventory, though you're right they can take time away from other things 😂
I've also found that making my own spreadsheets can help me be more intentional with my collecting habits, since it takes time to research & fill in all the info in my spreadsheet. But I've heard a few others enjoy some of the apps out there like Gameye.
0:54-2:21 is giving me some ASMR vibes, lol
Other than that, nice collection! 3DS is an underrated console for sure 😁
Haha thanks 😄
I finally just got a 3ds .slowly going through kirby triple deluxe .fun game!
Nice! Glad to hear you're enjoying Kirby Triple Deluxe 😄
@@orbalology O ok. I was just wanting to let you know about the collector's edition
@@orbalology Do you have a collection of ds too? and did you plan to make a jrpg video for the ds
@@stevenoel3402 I only recently started collecting for the DS earlier this year. Only have 8 titles atm 😅
Oh I didn't realize Heroes of Ruin had those teammate features, that's pretty unique for the 3DS!
Curious if the spelling of “counsoles” was intentional in the header of that 3DS sheet. Never have I seen a u included. Love the document and I may replace my own with yours lol
Oh that's a typo, thanks for catching that. One of my gripes with Google Sheets is that they don't have spell check highlight all my misspellings 😅
I want to get some more 3ds. The eshop will be closing up soon. So physical 3ds games are more important than ever if you want to play them. People hate on physical games. But not me. Very nice collection.
Thanks! Yeah the eshop is closing next year and I think a lot of people don't realize you can link your switch account to your 3ds and add funds that way so physical prices will probably continue skyrocketing after this month :(
@@orbalology Yea. It sucks about that. Physical games will cost more as the days go by.
I really loved the way you divides it by genres and franchises. Your collection is amazing.
Mine is barely 16 games 😅 and those Atlus games are quite expensive, also those Dragon quest,🥺
Yokai watch 3 is said to be the best, but it's crazy expensive.
My weekend has been good. Hope yours is okay.
Aww that's great! My weekend was lovely too. Got to fit in some good family & gaming time :)
You should definitely try using gameye to keep track of your collection. It especially helps when you get pasted 150 3ds games like I have😅
I've heard good things about Gameye! But I guess I'm old and stuck in my ways with my spreadsheets 😂
This was such an interesting video!!💯🔥❤️ I also have an Excel database of all my games and I have a borderline unhealthy obsession with tinkering and playing with it🤗
I'm also wrapping up my 3DS collection and I capped my physical games at exactly 50 (it's like it was meant to be!😃). It's also nice that as 50 is an even number, I can stack the games in neat piles on my shelf😂☺️💕
Just out of curiosity, is the 3DS special edition you're thinking of importing the Fire Emblem Fates one? Oh man, what wouldn't I give to merely lay my eyes on one...🥲🖤🤍 But the New 3DS XL has sooo many gorgeous special editions - it's impossible to single out just one!
50 is a good number! I think I may eventually pare down my collection after I give some games a decent playthrough, and maybe round it off to around 60. Hopefully no regrets lol 😅
For special edition system I actually have a few in mind!
@@orbalology This video definitely helped thank you! because the more games I play the harder it is trying to remember what I played or when lol
Rhythm Theif is a great game to look out for but its skyrocketed in price, it might be hard to find.
Oof yeah I've seen the prices for that one 😂 But thanks for the reminder, - I should probably add it to my eshop list before it's too late.
Do you also look into replacement parts for your systems? The battery on my GBA went out and I bought replacements. I dread the day my Launch Day 3DSXL screen dies 😭😭 These systems are so great
Tom Clancy's Shadow Wars is on the list, ayyee.
Come for the games, stay for the excel tutorials lol
I can't be the only one who nerds out over spreadsheets 😂
@@orbalology on no I do the same lol! I use them for work as well.
Ah I see, I was probably misremembering what I read. Thanks for double checking!
@@orbalology Yeah no problem, enjoy the trilogy when you get to it.
Ugh yup I'm sure things will be crazy for awhile but then eventually level out when all the hype dies down 😅
is it worth starting a 3ds collection? im currently collecting switch games
Be right back, have to make a spreadsheet now before I forget I own 4 copies of Xenoblade Chronicles and accidentally buy a 5th
Your spreadsheet idea is gonna get me OCD af lol
Did Your Brother Played Sports Back When He Was In High School Or No
