I kinda like the idea of Krypton as an Orwellian, controlling government forcing people to use AI to write papers so that nobody ever has an original thought. As someone who writes as a hobby, that thought is absolutely terrifying.

Considering how iconic Superman's cape is I think it's awesome they're giving it some super-functionality. Now you REALLY won't tug on Superman's cape.
Bruce: Hey Kal, I was wondering if you could spare of that sunstone dust. I was thinking- Kal: I'm not letting you make a bat-whatever using my cape. Bruce: ...you're no fun.

The absolute line is special because its so so contemporary. What with the ai themes, batman not being from extreme privilage and wonder womans heritage being erased from history
The sunstone dust's effects remind me of the GN particles from Gundam 00 which had a lot of similar effects, as well as the moonlight butterfly from Turn A gundam guess we will have to see if the parallels continue

I really appreciate these. Even back in the day, when I read and collected a LOT of comics, I could not read them all, so this reminds me of friends who read other comics and we would either swap or just tell each other what going on in the books the other person did not read.
So Superman and Krypton use redstone dust for power. Maybe I play too much Minecraft but I'm wonder if that was an inspiration. Either way, I'm headcanoning that Kal would like Minecraft.
As someone who enthusiastically supports the development of generative AI, my takeaway from the references to this technology in this issue is that it won't automatically usher in a more free and equal society, as some futurologists might suggest. Unless there is a corresponding _conscious_ change in social relations, AI can simply reinforce existing power structures. On Krypton, it facilitated the entrenched rule of the ruling 'science' caste, and on Earth, it cemented the authority of Lazarus, the global political and economic monopoly that has reduced the majority of the population to day laborers living hand to mouth. In other words, this highlights the importance of addressing the societal implications of AI to ensure it serves as a tool for equality rather than oppression, rather than a blanket condemnation of the technology itself.
Okay maybe the Superman I had misconceptions about might actually be good old classic Superman I'll give issue to another looking did I do find a Superman's on the run from a bunch of John Cena's I'm just glad this isn't a Dark Age of Superman if this is basically classic Superman play the world around them it's dark and edgy but he doesn't

Man, I’d love to see a comic written by a moderate. The heavy-handed nature of liberal writing is starting to get more and more vapid.
So, manga?
