This is timely. Just finished JLU Season 2 (minus "Epilogue", for obvious reasons hopefully) for my slow but sure DCAU rewatch binge. If anyone asks, Superman: The Animated Series Season 1 works almost exactly better on production order. Airdate's wrong by releasing "Stolen Memories" before "The Main Man" two-parter. No, just don't question why there's sound in space for this sequence. Love the rock guitar stuff for the fragface Lobo though. 1:23: Now this is one of the scenes used for the S: TAS intro. 1:49: And this one too. 1:54: Enter the Collector. Not to be confused with that Marvel alien weirdo, or that childlike god-entity from The Owl House. 3:10: Oh, go ahead. Try, for you'll somehow fail. 3:32: Yes, and you're best friends with space dolphins, loves dolphin food (I think), and killed Santa Claus once (or so I hear... unless I'm remembering Deadpool instead). Always with super effective sleeping gas. In at least two separate Batman properties that I know of the Mad Hatter has teamed up with Scarecrow and they kinda make an interesting duo, (The Long Halloween and the TV show Gotham) both of them target the mind in some manner, with The Hatter using mind control and the Scarecrow using his fear toxin, and they play off each other rather well

The only downside is that middle part. I don't love the childish battle over Mr. Freeze and Nora's fate. Cold Comfort just seems random and having Nora perish from disease later just feels childish. Can argue about Subzero and having Nora actually survive. But once that path was taken just...roll with it. There was a satisfying end to that with Freeze being at peace and living quietly. Then he's a psycho head in a jar. At least the Batman Beyond episode did him as much justice as could be done. Let him go out on his terms. And also once more show the human kindness in Terry in wanting to save Freeze. He just couldn't since Freeze didn't want to survive.

As a Jonah Hex fan, I would love to see an animated series centered on him and other characters from the same universe (Tallulah Black, Amadeus Arkham, Mei Ling, Bat lash, barbarian ghost, El diablo, ZC Branke, SawBone, ect...). I'd be happy with a series whether it's targeted at a young or mature audience (yes, the Jonah Hex stories are dark but BTAS has proved they can write dark stories and still be pg so I'm confident).

So why are you called Serum Lake anyway? Is that a place? Or is it a reference to Scarecrow contaminating Gotham's water supply by pouring his fear serum into a lake?

As a kid the joker redesign was the most striking change. I reasoned that the design must mean something thematically- that Joker's chemically-induced "condition" was getting progressively worse and making him appear less human. Gotta love how, years later, Dr. Milo would finally get his comeuppance for his own role in Daggett's schemes when Doomsday squashed him like a bug. The DCAU never once allowed the truly evil characters to get away scot-free, even if it took nearly a decade to punish them.
