Glad to see you getting sponsored but the thing Raid and many other gacha games don't get is that giving away the legendaries for free make them not super legendary. Anyway this is my comment for the algorithm.
Connor's growth as a character makes his relationship issues in season 2 hurt that much more, allows us to see how far he's come in season 3, and season 4 ends with him just truly being himself with M'Gann.
I honestly was put off by Clarke not accepting Connor but then i thought about it as I got older. "How would you feel if a clone of you created by your worst enemy comes out of nowhere and people expect you to accept it". I really liked Connor going from angry guy to being able to remain calm. His relationship with Miss Martain deleveloped. Honestly a great interpretation of the character.
It's like when a boyfriend/girlfriend cheats and gets themselves/gets someone pregnant and then everyone expects the partner to forgive them and take care of a child that isn't their
@@no.one.spec1al i mean like sure, that may be so, but the way Clark treats isn't what superman would do, no matter the circumstances. Clark is a good man, he should treat and look after everyone equally, regardless of who they are or where they come from or the circumstances of their creation.
Yeah I get that know and its human for superman to feel like that. Understanding lex was behind it makes so much more sense why Superman acted like that. Man don't trust lex for nothing like his beef with him is real I wouldn't be too quick to accept Conor either. I do get it's not Clark in his character to act like this. Which is why I don't like young justice superman especially in the first season
Lmao this is perfectly timed, I Just rewatched the series cause of ur kid flash episode and the thing that stood out to me was how well done superboy's charecter arc was done and how i had missed it as a kid. This show was so good man, either way cant wait to watch this video
I've always like that it was Bruce that tried to get Clark to mentor Connor, cause the situation would be very similar (even if not the case in this universe) to his situation with Talia and a child he knew nothing off in need of a mentor. I'm happy they found a brotherhood together, that entire development puts a smile on my face
In the episode "Alpha male", Connor's anger at Kaldur was because he didn't share that information about the traitor, because it was right after Red Tornado got compromised. In the previous episode, M'gann was in serious danger because of red inferno. And before they got together, he almost thought he'd lost her in the prison mission. M'gann is very important to him, because: 1. She's the first woman, that he's met, besides dr Spence. And you bet your bottom dollar, Jayce never treated him like a person. So M'gann being the first woman he meets and interacts with will be very significant to him. Not to mention, she's also the first girl he meets with his level of maturity. 2. M'gann understands him most. She's a telepath, sure, but they're connected by the fact they both feel the need to prove themselves to their community, because of past trauma. Also, they're both the most alienated from the team, literally. In "Failsafe" Artemis even comments on that, when she scolds Wally for being ignorant. So the thought of him losing her, the person he relates the most to and the first female friend, and girlfriend he's had ever, drives him nuts. And he almost lost her twice in a very short amount of time. Perhaps it does feed into his insecurity about living up to Superman, but in a different way. When he was yelling at Aqualad, I feel like he was blaming himself for not being good enough to protect her. Which leads to him trying to overcorrect in "Alpha male".
I started rewatching a couple days ago and I been getting YJ content recommendations a lot now. This show was so special to me as a kid and rewatching it genuinely makes me feel like a little kid again. This show was something
Im still disappointed that Connor and Wally didn't form a connection due to them feeling inadequate living up to Superman and Flash. I don't expect them to be super close, but a little acknowledgment in something they both share to some degree would be interest.
43:00 I would disagree that this ep does little for his character. I think it sets up and foreshadows his future role as a leader, and how he has the ability to quickly assess unknown situations and lead people accordingly. The New Gods ask him to take control, and he does so with a level head
Well done video essay on what makes Superman so great. For me the Superman the animated series defined Superman and Clark Kent so perfectly for me. Superman should not be portrayed as an outsider or too godlike, he grew up in a small town with loving parents and is human for all intents and purposes. He should not be seen as just a Boy Scout because he’s so kind but instead we should see he does get angry from time to time, but doesn’t let his anger control him since he has the power to destroy. He should be portrayed as a good man that wants to help everyone but still can’t save everybody. That is why Superman is so great he cares about people.
Superboy was always my fav cause I related to him so much. Totally enjoying your take on him, your pointing out stuff that i myself didn't even notice.
Love young justice and your videos. I had so many of these thoughts growing up and I'm glad someone is out here explaining them way better than I could.
35:47 nothing wrong with a guy wanting to protect his girlfriend though or both needing each other. But I understand the importance of Megan showing she's able to handle fighting too
Yeah, I was so confused when he talked about the show changing his character from the comics, then he just casually mentions Superboy in the comics could shatter the universe and I realized he's thinks Connor Kent is an adaptation of a completely different character, Superboy Prime. It's admittedly a little confusing, them having very similar names, especially someone who hasn't actually read the comics, but yeah, hopefully at some point he realizes they're not the same character.
i don't like how clark is treating superboy. Sure, for me it would be a strange feeling to meet a clone of myself, but i feel that supermans situation would be diffrent. For me, it would be very surprising and i would be powerless in the face of it. Superman probably should expect that people woukd try to clone him, and he isn't powerless. Also i think i wouldn't mind spending some time with my clone. Dunno, they are just a person, maybe it's fun being around them. And i feel superman should care about everybody. Isnt that his schtick?
SB going from hating telepathy and actually feeling uncomfortable with it to fully embracing it and constantly using it with M’Gann in seasons 3 and 4 is one little detail that shows his growth as character and his trust on letting himself be so vulnerable near his fiancé
I think Superboy was a good character I liked seeing his development from being Angry prone to calm and thinking was cool seeing him bond with his team and developing his relationship with Miss Martian was nice also aside from his dislike to Telepaths he also shows to dislike Monkeys because of the Geomorphes was also funny and him discovering he was only half Krypoeon and half Human but also His human DNA comes from Lex Luther so Conner is essentially Giorno Giovanna of the DC comics and having to deal with wanting to live up to being Superman even of he needed those Paches to the end of season 1 we’re he accepts himself and no longer needs to be Superman and for Superman to finally excepts him as his son/ Brother and him learning to let himself be vulnerable and open up to people.
Awesome analysis on Connor and showcasing his amazing character growth just in the first season. A little thing of note though, I think you're confusing Connor Kent aka Superboy, a Superman clone, with Superboy Prime, who is an alternate version of Clark Kent from Earth-Prime. Other than that you did a great job, but yeah I feel it's an important distinction to make when talking about how they adapted the character since you're thinking of a completely different one. Keep up the great work man.
Love your videos! When you’re done with Young Justice you should do a video on Titan’s Superboy, the show itself was alright at best in my opinion but their version of Superboy was so interesting and different. Absolutely loved it.
Nolan north not only voices super boy but super man and a couple other characters too I think but he puts on a different performance for super man than super boy making their voices seem almost unique
Nice work, V. I always love me some 'classic' DC animated goodness... well, almost always. If you think about it, Warner Brothers' DC character based animated shows and flics from 1992-2022 have a hit-rate similar to Marvel's 2008-2018 live action run, differences being that they did it for 3x as long, creating 4x more titles, while spending just 1/100th the $$. Superhero stories, regardless the medium, live and die over character development on the page, and on the screen. Neither of which have anything to do with lore, for what it's worth. Great video. I mean, I'm still thinking about it and it was over 20 minutes ago. That's the most any author dare hope to achieve, in my book. I wish you good luck and good fortune with the channel. Maintain it to this standard and I don't forsee you having a problem with either.
First but seriously I couldn't care about alot of these topics, outgrew them awhile ago but your videos are so well done bro 👏, first it was the perfect wolverine adaptation, then the spectacular Spider-Man and now we get a superboy video my boy is swinging 🎉
Small thing at 50 minutes. Superboy isn't the one that punched out the universe. That superboy prime (difrente character think like the robins). Short versions of his backstory he comes from a wourld like our where superheros are just comic and awoke his powers in a costume party where he was dressed in a superman's costume then met golden age superman's and um.....was bassicly immediately thrown into Vietnam😅 (crisis of infinite earths). His whole universe was destroyed so since then he's a golden age fan mad that his wourld and others had to be sacrified for this new morally gray wourld were "hero's arint heros" to quote him. Also yes him and superboy meet and superboy prime constantly just backhands him lol (so ya superboy is still the weacker kriptonian dont worry)
@dr.disappointment8400 I should have explained it better. I'm sorry for that. The fact that season 2 had a massive time jump, the fact that seasons 3 and four introduces a bunch of new characters. It frustrates me.
I couldn't really enjoy the show past season 1 and I'd have loved if they included his friendship with Tim, but I did enjoy his character overall--even if as a rule, I'm not big on the whole clone or long lost family trope in comics.
I would have liked to see Connor either get a flight ring from the legion or get a red lantern ring to compensate for missing powers and emphasize the rage
"Casually breaks the universe" thats superboy prime aka silver age superman as a teenager whos supposed to be from our universe, hes not conner. Idk where you even got that idea from

Can u bless us with a video of Young Justice Dick Grayson? @Venxous
Robin wearing glasses to hide his identity is still bizarre to me, but is hilarious
So that's why he was wearing it
He's feeling the "aster"

I love that Icicle Jr. shows up for Connor and M’Gann’s wedding
@49:57 Superboy and Wolfe being posed up, showing off their fit. Can't lie shii had me glazing
We see the fit Superboy
Superboy is one of the best characters in young justice his growth as a person and hero is phenomenal ❤
Damn not only is our king giving us a Superboy character analysis but he's also getting enough recognition to get sponsorships. Hell yeah. ✊

Connor was such a great character. I especially enjoyed his relationship with M'Gann in the show, and now ever sense the then, I now ship the two.
The later seasons put a damper for me on them being together
incredible video bro keep it uppppo
this was the first version of superboy i saw, when i learned of the mainline version i was real disappointed
Hour long venxous young justice video???? Life just got a little bit better
Please do a 1990s hulk show video please!!
i hope there will be a robin episode
I love to see a retrospect on emma frost

@Venxous pulling my heartstrings now 👏👏👏
Damn. When we gonna get to the end of Season 4?
Yikes…depending on how fast I go it might take years
@Venxous ..... I'll see you in the future
Peak as usual
Been here since 25k hope u remember me when you blow up 🙌
Was never really a SuoerBoy fan.
No really, just make him Kevin Levin in personality.
I wouldn't call Superboy prime a normal superboy like cant compare them to him 😂
Gotta start balancing your audio levels. Your voice is quiet then BAM the clips fry your brain loud
Man I have such a love/hate relationship with this show. The first two seasons phenomenal, seasons 3 and 4 are such a downgrade.
See I love all of it, but I wish they still followed the og team more

Just don’t ask hyperion for help.
One of the only times a character in an adaptation is better than the character in the comics
Make KF season 2
I super disliked season 4 of young justice in general but I absolutely loved super boys arc in that season
The nolan north comment made me laugh. Yeah i knew back then it was him. You not a fan or you just think he wasn't a good fit for the character?
I would have liked to see Connor either get a flight ring from the legion or get a red lantern ring to compensate for missing powers and emphasize the rage
I ABSOLUTELY LOVED this show up till halfway through season 3 but stopped watching for controversial reasons.
Osss
His arc was so boring
