      NEX I ended up doing it several times due to poor speaker selection and a loose connection. I ended up with Infinity Kappa. O suggest soldering the wires on to the speakers and make the wires connect low so you can reach them after the install.

      Your jeep is in incredible shape. When I first folded my windshield, the hinges were just about seized and the amount of rust underneath was gross. I'm assuming you come from somewhere with no snow or salt on the roads lol. Good video.

    Great video, only two things I would suggest for your next video. turn your camera, nobody wants to watch a little tiny video on a verticle screen, especially if it's not high definition. And second, they're called "torx" bolts not "star" bolts. The video was super helpful, I'm not sure why people are so scared to do this job, jeep designed this in a way that makes it so people can't steal your sound system easily in an open top vehicle. Thanks for doing this video.

    Thank you, this is exactly what I needed. Just a quick question...What size torx bit for the three smaller screws on the speaker cover, what size for the visor removal and, what size torx bit required for the top of the dash, after the windshield is lowered? I know the big ones are T40...

  • @larrydriemel6242
    @larrydriemel6242 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

    they're called TORX bolts, the whole Jeep is put together with these, no offense meant with the correction😉

  • @BobSmith-mv1kq
    @BobSmith-mv1kq 6 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    This video is dead on correct. An impact driver is helpful for the star bolts..also have some spacers ready for the inside speaker posted since the original speakers have a large rubber spacers built in.. You may need 8 half inch rubber spacers.
    Great job on the video

    Farmdog Fast - great video. I am getting ready to order my speakers. Crutchfield says the Infinity Kappa 462.11 cfp you have recommended will not fit and they recommend a Kicker speaker. Did you have to fabricate to make the infinity kappa speakers work? Thanks!

    • @OfarmdogO
      @OfarmdogO  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      The infinity kappas fit great and sound amazing...I tried some used kickers that i found in a car we were cutting up and they didn't fit.

    • @Bobbywolf64
      @Bobbywolf64 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      You can remove them by pulling the parking brake assembly, and the tach, but even then it is a tight fit for your hands. There are little tiny sheet metal nuts holding the speakers in. I agree, there are many things that Jeep should have absolutely done differently. Torx bits anyone?
