what size/type are the smaller bulbs? the big ones are PC194, are the smaller ones called T10?

wren pettett No, T10 is the European version of the 194 and are interchangeable. My Porsche calls for T10. I have done research on these bulbs as I did an LED conversion on my Porsche using 194 bulbs. The small ones for the warning lights are the PC74 ... I believe.

Question for ya: I just did this today but no luck. Any suggestions? Bad bulb, not seated correctly...? Any advice would be appreciated

That install is pretty hard to mess up, I don't think you did anything wrong. All the dash lights and dome lights run through the dimmer switch ... with the exception of the warning lights. I'm assuming you installed LED's ? LED lights don't play well with the dimmer on this jeep. (I didn't install dimmable LED light bulbs). Try rolling the dimmer with lights on. With mine I had to play with the dimmer and find the sweet spot for them to come on. Other thoughts .... is there power to the instrument cluster ? Dash light fuse in the driver's foot well fuse panel good? Power plug is fully seated? Test for power at the plug connecting to the cluster. If you have no power at the plug ... the next place to check would be the dimmer switch. Its highly unlikely to have a bad seat on the bulb seats. I see the occasional new bulb that is bad but only maybe 1 in every few hundred. That design is pretty straight forward .... hope this gives you some help. Feel free to message back ... FastFerrariF355 no I just replaced with the regular bulbs. I'm almost wondering if it's the small piece that the bulb fits in? If not, then I have a wiring issue...

If the retainer was bad it would be obvious and visibly bad it if were no good. I've changed many dash lights on many different kinds of cars and never seen a bad one. It would be melted or warped. Just to be sure you could test it with a meter ( continuity / bulb installed in retainer). Sounds like a power/wiring issue if you have no dash lights at all.

hi there... I have a 95 cherokee 4.0 .... Its driving me mad that I have no dash lights and no light on the transmission slector (1-2-3-D-r) what could it be? any clue on the fuses to check? cheers!

Francesco Zannini there usually is a fuse labeled"instrument" or "gauge" that you can check. It will be located in the fuse panel with fuses associated with the other lights. If the fuse is good, the next place I would check is your dimmer switch for the dash lights. With your lights on ... turn the dimmer switch back and fourth. On my Wrangler sometimes my instrument lights don't come on and I need to fiddle with the switch to get them to come on. Never had an issue before I installed LED lights. Perhaps the dimmer switch requires some resistance from standard incandescent bulbs. Feel free to messenge back if that doesn't fix it. Thanks for visiting my channel.

heyyyy thanks ( Grazie ) so much for the advice...Ill try to locate the fuses... even though I had visually checked all of them and they looked sound...but I will double check !! I have the feeling it is smoething else but everything is stock in my car ... may it still be the head light swich that doesnt engage the contact of the dash lights?

Great video. What number are the miniature LEDs? Are they 74s? I got all my new LEDs from the website superbrightleds.com and I paid a little extra for them because they're dimmable.

Wrangler Bear the ones i used were 194 standard LED. If i had to do it again I would get dimmable.
