My brother-in-law just gave me a ‘95 YJ. Been sitting for nearly 5 years. Got it running. Need to replace the radio and speakers. I appreciate you sharing this! Thanks, Chris!
That’s awesome! Congrats on your new YJ!
Do you have to have an Amp for this scenario I have a 92 jeep and looking to do the same
You don’t need an amp! The head unit is plenty to power these speakers
@@tophersgarage9841 yup 100% correct no Amp required
Great video made me decide to keep using my Bluetooth speakers or just enjoy the sound of the wind lol! ✌🏼
It’s not to bad of an install, but the sound of the wind isn’t bad either 🤣
I'll just use earbuds and my phone.
I have a 92 YJ and I will NEVER, I repeat NEVER, replace the dash speakers again. I will be floor pods or mount them somewhere else. That dash removal was a nightmare LOL.
I have pods behind the seats and I think I will be getting a soundbar soon.
It is a job that is for sure!
Good stuff Chris. I need to do the same on my 88 but am going to wait and combine it with a much needed complete Painless Wiring system rewire.
That’s a great upgrade!
That is so much work. I think I will just get bluetooth headphones and connect to my phone.
This was a really nicely done and instructed video! Thank you! I’m planning to change my speakers out too
Thanks! I’m glad you found it helpful!
This video was awesome. Thank you so much.
Thanks!
Nice Job, Thnx
Thanks!
Great job and descriptions.
Thanks!
Thank you for the video.
Your torque bolts came out a lot easier than mine did. I have a couple that are not coming out...trying to find a work around for dropping the windshield 🤦🏻
Spray them with PB blaster and give it a day or two. I just removed some from the tailgate and at first they wouldn’t budge! PB Blaster is a life saver!
@@tophersgarage9841 did that, the head is getting wallered(🤔) out 😝
Great setup but how did u connect the back speakers to the sound console?
Speaker wire and the head unit wiring harness had wires to connect. I used wire connectors to splice them together
I've been watching your videos, they are good. I puta beware speaker in the front driver's side. Same as the ones you got. You had so much more room. With min being a automatic. It does not go out that far. It was a bear.
I didn’t even think there would be difference.. glad you got it done!
Does the head unit come with the wiring
It does come with a wiring harness
Just curious why you didn’t use a sound bar for the rear speakers? Nice video. Thanks
The Jeep didn’t come with a sound bar. The price of buying a sound bar is pretty comparable to the cost of these speakers and I thought they looked a little more unique!
Size are the front speakers? 4inch?
4x6 the ones I used are linked in the description!
What phone mount are you using for YJ in the video?? Do you like it?
It’s this cheap one from Walmart, I’ve had it for several years now and seems to work!

Thanks.. i got one!!
Thanks for sharing
Onthe head unit, my current setup has a face plate and the back to it in my jeep. Can I still use the one you listed if I uninstall the whole thing?
I would assume so, but you may need a wiring adapter
Thank you. Mystery solved
Glad it helped!
