Y’all completely misread Natalie’s Idol play… had she kept Baylor and Missy in to final four.. if Keith wins immunity, Baylor and Missy aren’t gonna vote themselves, she’d be the only option. Taking that option away, opens the door for more possibilities.

Keith is her biggest competition even if the final immunity challenge doesn't historically suit his strengths. It was smart to protect against a Keith win and shows the jury she was so in tune to the game to have a contingency plan. And yes you're right it's also a flashy move so she's checking off so many boxes. The only problem that can arise is if Keith wins anyway and Jacquelyn votes out Natalie with Keith and Missy but I imagine she gets her to give her a shot at fire making at the very least

Chris Underwood had a better endgame, but other than that, nobody comes to mind. I love SJDS. It was my first season listening to rhap and so much fun, great characters overall. On the first watch the season is a bit frustrating until the final 9, when Natalie starts her awesome run. On a rewatch the entire season is hilarious.
I had this season ranked #19. I've always been quite impartial on this season. I think this cast is quite excellent, but there were definitely some moments that just upset me or made me cringe. For the pre-merge, I thought it was ok. The early boots were quite predictable, and the whole John Rocker situation in that immunity challenge just irked me. I didn't really like how Natalie was challenging him to say something bad, and it just upsets me that someone would do something like that especially toward someone who's trying to moved past bad things that they did before. After that, I thought the Drew boot was funny, and then it was disappointing to see Kelley and Dale get the boot. The merge episode has some momentum taken out of the season with Julie's quit, but this helped shape the rest of the merge when Josh gets the boot the next episode. Josh is the one person that I blame for playing so hard so early, and it came back to haunt him eventually. Jeremy was my favorite player on the season, and it was unfortunate to see him get blindsided, but his paranoia got the best of him because it only made him a bigger target for everyone else. The "Stick to the plan" tribal was fantastic and although I wanted Jon out so bad, it was so entertaining to watch. Reed and Alec's boots were fantastic in two ways: Reed hit Missy and Baylor with some honesty while Alec got blindsided all because Keith was the better challenge competitor to help take out Jon. Jon's blindside was the best episode for me because Jon's antics just annoyed me all season long. Natalie's revenge tour to a win is amazing, and although I also wanted Keith to win toward the end, I thought she created fantastic television because of it. Overall, I like this season, but I didn't like the obvious jury vote butt-kissing from giving up all the rewards because no one kept saying a thing about it. Also, I hated how the majority alliance ruined the touchy subjects challenge, because I love that challenge a lot. This season had a lot of cattiness that just irks me, but the gameplay was still exciting to watch because of people like Jeremy, Reed, Natalie, and even Keith. And just remember the wicked stepmother never wins.
SJDS is one of my favorites, probably top 10. I don’t think there’s a single dud on this cast, except probably Julie, which is not something that most seasons get to claim. The story is super compelling, and its super easy to root for Natalie without it being obvious she’ll win the whole way through. There are SO many iconic moments, like literally everything Keith does, the masterful Alec/Baylor blindsides, the Reed/Missy&Baylor feud and jury speech, Val’s double idol lie, Jaclyn not talking to Jon hours before the vote, the Hunapu bargaining, and basically Drew’s a badass. And I know I’m missing some. This season is unique in that the clear hero, Natalie, is also aligned the whole time with the season’s villains, Missy and Baylor, which makes it doubly amazing when she betrays them at the end. I love character-driven seasons but still with interesting strategy, and SJDS is exactly that
Is ratting out Jeremy's idol when Jeremy is the only person who is willing to work with Keith at that point, and then get shook and ruined Reed's plan really that iconic?

Keith screwed up his allies Wes, Reed & Alec with that “iconic move” and that gave Natalie the chance to steamroll to the end. Then, he was given a undeserving chance to go back again (Reed should be given that second chance spot), and went on to screw Wentworth up. Wentworth made a fake idol for him and all he needed to do is to use that idol as a trick so Jeremy or Tasha would vote for Spencer but he chose not to do so and rather get voted out on that spot. Possibly the worst player ever and definitely hella overrated.

They actually didn't work around it: she sat out every challenge afterwards knowing it was costing her immunity. Unless she's medically pulled from the game, she doesn't have to compete in challenges.
Because she’s iconic for that reason - being a premerge boot who was ignored by the edit and screwed terribly in the show, he came back and revealed her potential by being one of the biggest characters of the 30s. She was the premerge boot that showed she could still be a great character and player
Panama really??? It’s a top 10 season with excellent characters. Cirie, Shane, Courtney alone carry the season come on. I agree with Sasha. How the heck is MvGx still in? With all the women of color going before the merge and the season overall’s editing being all over the place. I like characters and MvGx lacks in that compared to Panama. I also think WaW is way too high.
I feel like WaW and DvG will be in the top 5 with HvV and Cagayon and one of Pearl Islands, China or MvG. I know Amazon has a huge fanbase but I'll bet its top 10. I had it at 16 in my rankings. I also find MvG overrated.
Personally, I think all 3 seasons you mentioned should’ve already been gone by now. Panama has a VERY top heavy cast, and of course casaya is entertaining, but that’s literally all there is. Cirie, Shane, and Courtney are the only consistently entertaining characters throughout the season. Bruce is pretty good, Daniele has her moments, but Aras is pretty boring and not a very deserving winner imo. The premerge also isn’t very riveting, Terry doesn’t hold up in the modern day, and it’s filled with “red shirt” characters. MvGX I think has a much more balanced cast, since most of the boring or annoying people do go out early, but I agree the editing is a little off. To me, MvGX is just a less controversial Cook Islands with a more likable cast. And WaW is getting some recency bias - at the time everyone was complaining about how obvious Tony’s win was, the old schoolers going out first, and the edge taking up all the screentime. In reality it’s probably better on a rewatch when there’s less disappointment about everyone who goes out early, but there’s some overrating of a lot of these seasons imo

I don't get what people see in this season! It's easily too high! A lot of people made it too far (Missy, Baylor, Jaclyn (yes folks I'm not a fan of Jaclyn sorry, Wes, Alec) The whole Hunahpu trade thing with Jeff was annoying! This season also ruined and permanently got rid of one of my favorite challenges-The coconut drop/Touchy Subjects! There's also the constant reward swaps (people giving up their reward) which I got tired of really quickly!
Yep. Honestly the most fun for me of Survivor is watching teams compete against each other and so many duels were put in place of more interesting team challenges. Watching 10 people stand on a balance beam or hold a ball in place as long as they can is boring as f..., no matter how "fair" it is.

That "arrogance" was him having to live with a bunch of people actively rooting against him and isolating him. You would be pissed to if everyone treated you like a pariah. People hate Tom Brady for no other reason than he keeps winning. That included myself. It absolutely was why they changed it to Final 3 and the jury said they would have voted for him if he had made it to FTC. Don't hate him because he makes your favorites Cirie and Aras look like lucky chumps in comparison.

The only time they "flipped" was when they had to vote out an alliance member because Terry was immune. He celebrated after winning challenges because he knew he just saved his game. If Terry's social and strategic games were so awful, he wouldn't have been told he would win if he made it to FTC by the jury. He's a good man. Sure he's proud, but why shouldn't he be? He kicked everyone's ass out there that were gunning for him for weeks. You can't survive if you can't start a fire, build a hut, hunt food, etc. Terry was the best survivor in that season of Survivor. He just didn't win one balancing challenge. Cesternino and Mariano were very good strategists. They still only went like 1/6 combined on Survivor. Terry went 0/2, and the only reason he "lost" the 2nd time around was because his son was facing a life-threatening event and he put his family first. But yeah, he's "horrible" socially and strategically... that's why he's only ever had one vote against him in 2 tries (51 days, only 1 vote against)... Terry Dietz was pretty much chosen as the team captain for La Mina. The only real difference between Terry Dietz in Panama and Tom Westman in Palau was that Tom Westman had the majority alliance the entire time. Do you think Tom Westman is a terrible Survivor strategist and terrible social player? They both had players either give up immunity (Ian) or get voted out with no pushback (Dan). What horrible social players /sarcasm. Terry got screwed with a Pagong merge and a lemming Casaya alliance that did whatever Aras and Danielle wanted. Even then, if he just wins that last challenge, he wins the game. He didn't, but to say he sucks socially or strategically is nonsense.

I just thought he was rude to everyone (he literally insulted Cirie saying she probably beat her children all because she accidentally dropped her torch). Plus he wasn’t that good of a player. He is a great challenge competitor I’ll give him that but social and strategic game are far more important
@@ttaa6645 Yeah, he was mad at Cirie for tripping him or nearly tripping him by carelessly tossing her torch in his path. I like how you say he was rude to "everyone" but then only mention Cirie being a lazy, careless slob and potentially harming Terry and ruining his chances at winning immunity, you know, his only way of staying in the game with the tunnel-vision power alliance.
Again, how do you act when people shut you out, bully you, and literally root against you? Most people treat them in kind. I think the arrogant ones were the former Casaya tribe just Pagonging the minority and just laughing about it when they weren't fighting with each other. The only time they "flipped" was when they had to vote out an alliance member because Terry was immune. He celebrated after winning challenges because he knew he just saved his game.
If Terry's social and strategic games were so awful, he wouldn't have been told he would win if he made it to FTC by the jury. He's a good man. Sure he's proud, but why shouldn't he be? He kicked everyone's ass out there that were gunning for him for weeks. You can't survive if you can't start a fire, build a hut, hunt food, etc. Terry was the best survivor in that season of Survivor. He just didn't win one balancing challenge.
Cesternino and Mariano were very good strategists. They still only went like 1/6 combined on Survivor. Terry went 0/2, and the only reason he "lost" the 2nd time around was because his son was facing a life-threatening event and he put his family first. But yeah, he's "horrible" socially and strategically... that's why he's only ever had one vote against him in 2 tries (51 days, only 1 vote against)... Terry Dietz was pretty much chosen as the team captain for La Mina.
The only real difference between Terry Dietz in Panama and Tom Westman in Palau was that Tom Westman had the majority alliance the entire time. Do you think Tom Westman is a terrible Survivor strategist and terrible social player? They both had players either give up immunity (Ian) or get voted out with no pushback (Dan). What horrible social players /sarcasm. Terry got screwed with a Pagong merge and a lemming Casaya alliance that did whatever Aras and Danielle wanted. Even then, if he just wins that last challenge, he wins the game. He didn't, but to say he sucks socially or strategically is nonsense.
