    Thanks for the vid mate. Glad to see that Kings are offering what they say. I saw another discharge video recently with the 120Ah Kings, and it did 120+ Ah too, so that's good. Amps x Volts = Watts, or Watts / Volts will give the Amps. These things work a treat and I now have one on my list. Thanks Kings, they are priced very well.

    Mate you should grab a ozito heat gun. They’re only $50 and have adjustable heat so you can really dial in your load, from 30w-2400w .Great way to test there stated amp draws for extended period of time. I’m sure you would find other uses for it to seeing as you do a lot of electrical work so great for heat shrink and the likes.

    Be interesting to see whats inside one, but the Kings video advert says they have Grade A Prismatics in them. Since it's your mates, taking it apart isn't and option, and I think you might get weird looks if you take it to the airport to ask them to run it through the X-Ray ;) I plan on getting two of these since you can run them in series and use them to keep the essentials going at home during power outages, and use them with a 24V inverter/24-12V stepdown for the radio gear (got my ham ticket). Essentials like gaming rig, internet router, entertainment system, and the microwave :)

    • @EFFICIENTSELF
      @EFFICIENTSELF  ปีที่แล้ว

      Cheers mate. Maybe the inverter cut out cause of lack of amps from battery . 3000 watts inverter are very power hungry if you run at full load . Thanks for your comment and big thanks for watching 👍🍻

    • @erroneouscode
      @erroneouscode ปีที่แล้ว

      Of course something is going to cut out. If you was using 3000w from your 3000w inverter it would be pulling around 260Amps when battery voltage is at 13.5 volts and amp draw will increase as voltage drops. The continuous output rating of the Kings battery in question is nowhere near capable of powering a 3000w inverter to its full potential. Using their own ratings they're not even up to using a 1500w inverter to full potential either. Even if it could run a 3000w inverter the cable from battery to it should be rated to carry that amperage which is equivalent to needing 0000B&S cable for the interconnect.

    Okay, how come the test unit shut down àt 7.5volts, but the bms low voltage cut-off is 10volts as shown on the specs at 56sec to 1.06min . A 10amp discharge should not have that much voltage sag on lithium,

    • @fredjones5312
      @fredjones5312 ปีที่แล้ว

      He first demonstrated it has a 200 amp hr capacity, the peak power he demonstrated using was 170 amp hrs (with kettle, toaster and drill running simultaneously. So the fully charged battery could do this for an hour and ten minutes before being dead flat. However, battery has a max continuous discharge rating of 150 amps. If you limited your use to the 150amps the battery would last for 1 hr and 20 minutes (running kettle. Toaster and a bit more). And they claim you can do that 2000 times. Which would be doing that once every day for about 5 1/2 years straight.

    Hi mate i just brought one of these 200 AH along with a 3000 watt kings inverter and the bloke said that it woulg be ok to run off just one battery this was from kings outlet themselves, was he correct in his answer or was he lying to me just to make a sale

    • @EFFICIENTSELF
      @EFFICIENTSELF  9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      G’day mate I just checked the specs on the kings 200ah battery and they will output 200 amps continuously. If you run the 3000watt inverter under full load it’s gonna need more than 200 amps example 3000 divide 12.8 is approx 234 amps …. The most you would run would be 2500 watts so you would run a full sized household 2400 watt kettle . If you require the full 3000 watts of load from your inverter it would pay to purchase an additional battery and connect the 2 batteries parallel (so positive to positive and negative to negative) this way will give the batteries 400amps continuous output . I have my 3000watt inverter connected to 3x 200 ah batteries with 300 amp fuse fitted on 70mm sq cable. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching 👍🍻

    Sorry but this is a very weak battery you, have, not only did it not cut-off at 10.0v which would have been 2.5V / cell the absolute minimum but you went well into the 9's so you are damaging your cells. This could be a defective BMS that over drains the cells.
    Secondly the cells are clearly grade B as they are not even able to maintain 3.2V nominal, your total watt-hours were 2458. This should have been 2560 Watt-hours (12.8 x 200). So adjusted at 12.8V your actual capacity is 2458 / 12.8 = 192 AH.

    Hi, I have a kickass 3000 watt inverter and 2 x 100amp lithium batteries and the inverter seems to struggle a bit, you suggested in the video that a 3000 watt inverter needs like 2 x 200 amp batteries, why is that, am I needing to upgrade my batteries?

    • @EFFICIENTSELF
      @EFFICIENTSELF  ปีที่แล้ว

      I suggested to have 2 x of these batteries for a 3000watt inverter cause these batteries have continuous output of 150 amps so when your batteries are connected together in parallel there will be a discharge of 300amp of continuous power . So depends on how much continuous discharge your 100 ah batteries have is why you would be having problems. If your 100ah batteries are 100 amps continuous discharge you could get a third one to connect with the other 2 to give that extra power … if your 100ah batteries only have a 50 amp continuous discharge you would need another 4 similar batteries to get the discharge you need to run your inverter flawlessly…also I recommend you purchase thicker cables as a minimum of 70 sq mm cable to connect your inverter to your batteries as the cables supplied with your inverter are a bit undersized (welding cable is great) I’m not a professional it’s just my opinion only from experience and do your research and Watch lots of videos as people usually point out their mistakes to help you avoid making them. Hope this helps somewhat and thanks for watching 👍🍻

    • @KegRaider
      @KegRaider ปีที่แล้ว

      Not when you look at the CCA rating of your standard starting battery. CCA = Cold Cranking Amps. Most 4cyl cars use something like a 500CCA, much more than the discharge AH of these. Plus, if you cobbled together 4 in parallel just for argument sake, your poor alternator would let it's magic smoke out rather quickly, as the battery would be looking to recover it's discharged AH instantly, with low rev engine (idle), the internal alternator fan cannot cool the windings and can cause premature failure of the charging circuit. That and the heat inside the engine bay is not ideal for lithium.

      @B K yeah I got a 200ah lead acid AGM battery. Didn't have much time to shop around and the stocks were pretty low because a certain someone is very fond of destroying critical infrastructure in my country. Time was very much of the essence.
      Got a friend to help out. Much easier to carry using handles when it's out of the box it comes in.

      @@MaDKrEvEdKo : at least the AGM should be able to supply heavy demands for short times - ie. jump/transfer starting APCs or something similar.

      @MaDKrEvEdKo sorry to hear about your country. That certain someone can suck a D. If you get the chance switch to lithium because moving those batteries is pure torture on your body.

    Discharging to 9.8V is too low.

      Turn it off completely. It's there to protect the battery, but the BMS does that with a battery like this.

    Who uses 7.5v, cut off way to low. Give me a test at 10v or higher!

      I used 7.5v cutoff cause I wanted to drain so the bms cut off . Sorry to disappoint ya . Thanks for watching👍🍻

      @@EFFICIENTSELF You will seriously shorten battery life setting the cut off to 7.5. Also skews the test result so it's not a good real world test.

    For the price… fuck me dead. 800amps for less than one enerdrive.
