- It's been a LONG time since I've been this excited about a new Pro Tools feature! It's almost like Pro Tools built an AI assistant into their DAW - and I do realize that is a buzz word right now, but I'm serious! If you aren't great with learning shortcuts, reading the Pro Tools reference guide, or just don't know what your DAW is capable of - get ready to unlock Pro Tools in ways you didn't know was possible!

This makes selecting audio suite plugins so much easier!!!!
Right! It’s fantastic for grabbing RX noise repair stuff I find!
Awesome video man, super helpful!
THERE'S A SEARCH FUNCTION?! WHAT?! I have been using Pro Tools since 2004. I had NO idea haha 🤯
Right!? So good!
🎉thanks
My pleasure!
I"ve been using Pro Tools since the mid 1990's, didn't even know this existed. Cool tip!
Right!? Glad it was helpful and thanks for watching!
Good find. Thanks.
Cheers!
I didn’t know about this!! Thanks for the tip!! Subscribed!!
Eh thanks for the sub! Glad it was helpful! I've been using it constantly since discovering it. Pro Tools is now much easier to use on a laptop without my full-size keyboard when I want to work on the go!
Oh crap I really didn't know about this feature! Thanks a ton. And subscribed! :)
Glad it was helpful, and thanks for the sub!
This. Is. Great. Thank you!
Glad it was helpful! Appreciate the comment as well!
Thumbs up! What is the best vocal recording level in Pro Tools? Is it -10dB or -12dB? Thank You!
Neither. The level you’re recording at doesn’t matter as much if the audio isn’t a clean signal. A trick is to record at a lower volume -20 to reduce poor room ambient noise and it makes your vocal more prominent due to reducing background noise or and amplifying your voice . After recording use light compression to bring up the level with make up gain and to level the vocal out.
Thank you
My pleasure!
Mind......BLOWN
People in the audio industry are way too focused on getting "good mixes". I've had to learn the hard way, by making tons of terrible sounding music, that mixing and mastering are the least important parts of the production process.
80% (if not more) of getting good sounding material is in the recording process.
Record as if there won't be any mixing and mastering, and sort of mix as you go.
By the time you're ready to actually mix, you'll pretty much be most of the way there already.
A few tweaks here and there, maybe some effects and you've got your mix.
Or you can throw down your "good enough" and "fix it in post" recordings, then spend hours trying to put a pearl necklace on a pig.
No plug-in or piece of hardware in the world can save a half-ass recorded song (and I know how easy that is to do when you just wanna get mixing!)
You're absolutely right in what you're saying. I would also add, and this is sometimes genre dependent, every aspect or stage of a production is no less important than another. Everything from killer songwriting to mastering, it all has to be bang on solid.
Yeah searching has been a thing for maybe a decade.
Anyone else as stoked on this Pro Tools feature as I am? PS - Let me know where in the world you're watching from eh!
never saw that in 10 years...cool find! Hi from Italy!
@@antonionevone7320 I think I started my Pro Tools Journey in 2007 or 2008, so I share your surprise in finding such a useful tool! Also, I love Italy! Hope to be heading back there on my honeymoon this winter! Thanks for he comment eh!
I use this for all my audio suite needs mostly. Like you, I discovered this and its utility just a few years ago after 20 yrs on PT. Very cool!
That's awesome!
New subscriber here 🙌just also learned that beat detective exist thanks😂🙌
Beat detective is definitely a powerful tool in pro tools! Takes a lot of practice and trial and error though !
Appreciate the sub, glad to have you along!

Ableton has this built in, no shortcuts. Also even more options
Ableton is a fantastic DAW for sure, I really enjoyed using it when I tried it! But it also really couldn't be more of a different tool for a different job. I wouldn't use Pro Tools to do an Ableton sort of job, and vice versa - so it's a bit apples to oranges in that way I think!
