    I am 10 years old and I tried this recipe. I thought this recipe will not work or something will go wrong but it worked. My whole family liked it and for once my mom loved the puff puff.

    I have attempted making puff puff three times but i didn't like the result I got. I had to stop until today when I felt like giving it a try using another brand of instant yeast. Even my husband told me not to do it but i didn't want to give up. I made another attempt this afternoon using your recipe/measurement and I was amazed at the turnout. I was so happy. I got the round shape and it was delicious!!

    I don’t like following procedures blindly. Thank you for always ensuring you tell us why you are doing what you’re doing. E.g I”’m using warm water so the yeast can be activated.”
    “I left it to be thick because the yeast will further soften it”.

    Too thick. The crust looks hard. There was no salt added to the sugar to get that right puff puff balance of taste. NUTMEG is absolutely UNNECESSARY

    Hey kitchen queen. Please can you explain the differences between yeast and baking powder. Because i use baking powder to make mine sometime ago and it was not that perfect. Nice shape and beautiful puff puff. Thanks for always sharing your ideas

      Noble Blessing I don’t think you can use baking powder in place of yeast for this recipe. Although they are both rising agents, baking powder is not as potent as yeast. Plus yeast helps soften the batter creating a very moist, airy, fluffy and soft puff puff...thats why its a major ingredient used in making bread.

    Please today is my first time trying to make puff puff, I watch this video from the beginning to the end but my puff puff is always flat when I put it in my frying pan. I made it in 3 batches and they are all flat

    I tried this yesterday, and mine was soggy, it was oil filled, I Dont know why. Pls what could be the reason, cuz am definitely trying again tomorrow

      It might have been soggy because you added too much water and the reason it was soaked in oil is because you didn’t allow the oil to heat up properly before putting the puff puff in. The oil shouldn’t be too hot but there should be a sizzling sound when the puff puff is in, you can test it with a smaller quantity of puff puff, drop it in and if it sizzles and increases in size then it’s just perfect.

    When the puffpuff mixture rise up you don't bring it down, but instead you start frying the mixture. This puffpuff will never give you good texture but only beautiful appearance ,but you need good texture too .

      Control the heat or your puff puff will brown on the outside and not cook on the inside OR the batter would go flat in the oil.
      Nutmeg is optional, but it takes it to another level.

    You only tell us the flour measurement. What happens to the yeast ans sugar quantity. I guess this is equally important to get the desired result else one cannot get the desired consistency.
