I remember learning putting your hips into punching. Because you really start using your legs behind it, means you start using the whole body mechanism behind your punches. Ultimately, you get less fatigue. And you actually feel like you can generate so much power that you better wrap your hands or you can break them otherwise!

Respect, coach. You’ve got a gift for teaching. True masters understand what they’re doing and know how to explain the details of technique. They don’t just say “it comes naturally”. I’m going to focus on this in my heavy bag workout today. If you watch Golovkin and Tyson, they’re turning their entire torso via the hips, like a baseball batter. I rarely do this, *subscribe* PS. That left hook looks relaxed and powerful!

I also enjoy how family oriented your gym is! It's delightful to see such a tight knit group! Keep up the good work and I look forward to applying what you've taught.

Finally, someone who actually acknowledges every single piece of the mechanics. There's a little bit of power leakage and balance issues, but this is still a pretty good tutorial for absolute beginners. I gauge the quality of teaching by how hard it would be to take over the teaching of someone who was taught by the coach I'm looking at. If this video is any indication they will have a decent foundation and will not be full of prejudices that keeps them unteachable.

Yet we tend to make the same common mistakes and I wish not to allow my mistakes to carry over to all teammates...and it is easy to be off balance or tired and not want anyone to through in the towl...and all competitors to expect to win

Nicon Israel no. If it works for you than it works for you.
If you feel it works better and you don’t get hit a lot or things like that than by all means do it.
There’s no set rules and everyone is different.

Your left foot should not turn like that, i mean it's good for a check hook when you're on your heels to get off the ropes to pivot off... But it is not effective when you're going forward... Your left foot need to be planted solid flat on the mat with the correct angle with toes... Then you'll generate more power.. Don't ever do that toe thing with the left foot while going forward, it's too easy to knock you off balance and stack you when you do that
