Hi, it's all manufacturer claims, so I can't say that they work, I can only say that I saw I reduction in my own rosacea, though mine isn't very severe. The Niacinamide is said help to reduce redness and inflammation, as is lavender essential oil. Salicylic acid can be a funny one with rosacea, I used it exfoliate and remove dead skin cells whilst reducing redness. I purposely paired it with the hyaluronic acid and other ingredients to make it less harsh, as a plain salicylic acid serum would likely be too irritating for rosacea. The best ingredients I've found to help rosaeca have been kukui nut oil, lavender essential oil and rose hydrolat. I'm still experimenting with the other ingredients to compare and see which I find work best :)
@revegacosmetics perfect... understand.. I have been trying to do a light weight lotion using cucumber, rose, aloe, hydrosol and niacinamide so far and was looking to make it more soothing for a Rosacea flare / heat wave ..hence the question.. I haven't understood Acids well yet 😕
I like this, thank you, but at Ph less than 4.5, niacinamide hydrolyzes into nicotinic acid which is rubefactor. Maybe it’s better to dab the salicylic acid solution before inserting the niacinamide?
Thanks. Like my disclaimer says I’m self taught, so formulas shared here are experiments so can always do with some adjustments. I’ve not experienced any redness or irritation using this myself, but the information you’ve given is useful thank you. It’s an ingredient I’ll be researching more in coming months.
Beautiful formular but am curious hoe u managed to stop iy from recrystalizing. If i don include buffer in my product with salicylic acid it does recrystalizes
I’m not actually sure 😂 I’ve made it exactly as the video and now a week and half after making the first batch it hasn’t recrystallised. I’m a DIY creator so continuously learning.
@@revegacosmetics i will keep trying.but i am thinking that the niacinamide could be waht raised the p.h to make the salicylic acid stable. Weldone mam
I could be wrong but from my research you can dissolve 6 grams of salicylic acid in 100% Propanediol or Propylene Glycol. So 0.6 grams in 10%. So you have to use a lot to prevent it recrystallising. If you've managed it at 5% then my research is wrong 😊
That’s really interesting, but I still have the bottle sat on the shelf now for stability testing and as far as I can tell it’s fine. I will look into this further though.
@@2711marcus I’m starting to think mine was a happy accident! Could be to do with heating, pH or other circumstances too. I think I will recreate it and see if I get the same result!
@@revegacosmetics That will be interesting to see 👌 You can also make an anhydrous salicylic acid serum similar to The Ordinary using 7% octyldodecanol as the solvent, , (octyldodecanol is one of the best solubilizers of salicylic acid) The anhydrous version is less irritating and less drying. 😊
Great I’ll try it
Great formula 👍👍 thanks!
Welcome ☺️
Can I increase the amount of salicylic acid to 2%?
So my body lotion has these ingredients Water, Niacinamide (100,000 ppm), Cetyl Ethylhexanoate, 1,2-Hexanediol, Methylpropanediol, Caprylic/Capric Triglyceride, Glycerin, Cetearyl Olivate, Sorbitan Olivate, Xanthan Gum, Sorbitan Stearate, Polysorbate 60, Carbomer, Triethanolamine, Ethylhexylglycerin, Sodium Acrylate/Sodium Acryloyldimethyl Taurate Copolymer, Isohexadecane, Disodium EDTA, Polysorbate 80, Sodium Hyaluronate, 3-O-Ethyl Ascorbic Acid, Lactic Acid and has 300 gr, can i mix a packet of 10 gr salicylic acid powder in? Thank you
Hi 👋 how do these ingredients help with Rosacea as u mentioned helping for yourself? Aloe is calming, but what else is antiinflamtory pls?

@@jhansi1402 Yeah I’d stay clear of salicylic acid then. Hyaluronic acid is beneficial and easier to use.

@@adaobiazuka4253 it’s all about experimentation. Would be interested to hear how you get on :)
Can niacin be substituted for niacinamide?
Yes, as niacin is an irritant when used on skin. Niacinamide is an amide approved for cosmetic use.

That is good to know.I've had problems with Salicylic acid in the past so I will give your formula a try. 😊
