    Hi. I’m your new subscriber:) Omg i’m so happy to have stumbled upon your video! I’m getting into making my own serum after growing tired of spending $80+ on a bottle of Charolette Tilbury that only lasts about a month. You’re a life saver because I was just going to recklessly mix my ingredients (copper, HA, glycerin) together and likely ruin it and waste money. Now I have a templet of what ratios I should use. Btw you have such a calm and kind disposition it gives such a sense of peacefulness.

    • @HumblebeeAndMe
      @HumblebeeAndMe  ปีที่แล้ว +4

      I designed this formulation to be as beginner-friendly as possible, so, when made as written the pH of these formulations naturally into a good-for-skin range (5.5-6.5). Hyaluronic acid is not like lactic or citric acids and does not cause a huge pH drop :)

    Is there any rule of thumb on how many ingredients are in a serum, granted they are all compatible with each other and my skin? There's just so many actives I want to use and not have so many products to layer. I like to wash, toner and or serum then moisturise and spf. It would be nice to take out the toner and serum 😅 I found an all in one serum that is similar to the formula I have been writing out this week, the Resurrection all in one only 142usd! So many actives I thought weren't compatible with each other, seems to be more of a matter if your skin can tolerate it.

    • @HumblebeeAndMe
      @HumblebeeAndMe  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I'd recommend making three separate 1% gels; one with each weight.
      You are then free to blend them as desired in your formulations rather than being tied to a specific combo.
      Once those gels are made I'd probably do 6% of one of them and 7% of the other two for easier numbers :) Or just 7% of each as 20% (0.2% overall HA content) is not any sort of maximum.

    Hi Marie. I'm not a patron "Yet" I like to follow for some time before I jump in, and speaking of jumping in. I watched your video on making the hyaluronic serum and of course, went right out and purchased the acid, not thinking of the Daltons and ended up with something that has no number, however, the end result is quite thick. So, I made a 900g solution ( I know, I'm a guy, we jump haha) 10g HA, 985g Distilled water & 5g Germall Plus. I think I'm having a math meltdown because I cannot for the life of me, figure out the equation to dilute this minor mess I'm in. Hope to hear from you, thanks in advance, Braxton D

    • @HumblebeeAndMe

    0.2% seems low, The Ordinary uses a 2% solution.
    Also shouldn't we put an antimicrobial such as penylene glycol for safety? What happens if bacteria starts to grow, especially since you are making so much?

      I'd encourage you to read the free partner blog post: www.humblebeeandme.com/hyaluronic-acid-serum-3-vs-5-vs-8-ingredients/ :)
      There's thorough discussion of the preservative (I promise this formulation is properly preserved-I'd never share a formulation that wasn't!) and the reasoning behind the usage level (+ links to learn more about why it is more than enough). Happy making!

    Can you freeze the serum

      There is no need to.

      I made a batch of serum using rose water from roses I grow organically. However, I did not have distilled water, and the recipe I found just called for water. I don't use tap water for anything important, I have a Berkey filter. So the rosewater was made with that filtered water. Is that safe, is it stable? Thank you so much for your videos and any info, I appreciate it

    Marie are you using washi tape on your bottles? Also, in my practice of herbal medicine - making, I keep it simple.... the fewer the ingredients, usually the better for me. You are genius ! Thanks for what you do.

      I am! I love washi tape for adding a bit of visual interest and help immediately distinguish between otherwise identical bottles :) Thanks for DIYing with me, and happy making :)

    How about the ph ?

    • @HumblebeeAndMe
      @HumblebeeAndMe  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I designed this formulation to be as beginner-friendly as possible, so, when made as written the pH of these formulations naturally into a good-for-skin range (5.5-6.5). Hyaluronic acid is not like lactic or citric acids and does not cause a huge pH drop :)
