@@blazeswithwolvez7221 Warner Bros. would need to spend a considerable amount of money to create a new DC Universe, and it would be unwise to reboot the franchise after only a few years. It would be advisable to wait at least eight to ten years so that people can view the films with fresh eyes and an open mind. The eight-year gap between Batman & Robin and Christopher Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy proved to be beneficial for the latter.
@@JackSkyblue it would have made much more sense for DC to not have a cinematic universe at all. I don't think Man of Steel was "dark and gritty" it was different but it was carrying through the Nolan style of grounded Batman but with an alien and asking questions of the audience about how people would be (rather than everyone just sort of accepting Superman.) I prefer an intelligent (or attempted intelligent) and a different vision and people act like Superman was some sort of anti-hero in the movies, he wasn't. It was his environment that was more grounded (as much as one can be with Kryptonians flying about.)
DC once had something to offer. Man of Steel should have been its own universe but no Wonder Woman unless they were going to have Amazonians be descended from Kryptonian explorers. By diving back into the Flash, Aquaman, etc. it's just back to being silly comic book stuff so I do understand people who want a different tone for Justice League stuff (although I thought parts of the Snyder versions were a better serious take.)

Dr. Fate was hands down the best thing in the movie. James Gunn is a fool if he doesn't try to bring this character back with Brosnan in the role.
Again…planning. Do things in order. We got to such a messy place where we’re like oooh this character ooh this one…can we get a solid Supes trilogy going? Can we establish the Trinity first? I agree Fate was great but order and structure.
Hawkman for me was the best Character, I think they nerfed Dr Fate to hard...

I feel the kids rant about being a superhero and how lucrative it can be, and how you've gotta do movies and tie in games, and products with your name on it all over the shelves. Like that's literally just them telling us what these franchises are to them. They are literally just money trees to them. And you can feel it in every hollow empty thing Hollywood puts out anymore.
Nah, I would say these things are not written to sell and the better show runners like Russo Bros, Christopher McQuarrie cannot be tapped to direct these films and better writers aren't paid. This was nothing more than a missed opportunity and a rush job (it should've been in SHAZAM! As should the Cavill teaser, but the brand stunk, and Superhero films were watered down and oversaturated so by the time DC got off its ass and put out movie, you had radioactive psychos Ezra Miller and Amber Heard still stuck in delayed films .. its a mess - The Hollow empty thing is from uninspired or controlled filmmakers just checking boxes and not creating better stories.
You know I used to love "Paint it Black" but god damn, it pops up in so many damn movies these days that I can't help but roll my eyes at it now.
That one and fucking Immigrant Song. My brain still just implodes into disgust when I remember Shrek 3.

You cannot do Black Adam without Shazam. Dwayne Johnson tried to be safe with his movies.
All they had to do was put him in, but I think the saw DC crumbling and tried to shoehorn their deal in.. and it flopped, as did The Suicide Squad (despite "critical acclaim")
They tried saying the same thing “you can’t have a Venom movie without Spider-Man,” look how successful that was. Unfortunately lightning didn’t strike twice with Black Adam, which is what they were hoping for.

Technically he's a major villain in DC Comics (except in the 52 which this character is more based off of), not just to Captain Marvel/ Shazam. It helps to read comics.

I always think of it as two egomaniacs fighting each other for control of the franchise.
Since F&F is practically Vin's own franchise and brings in serious cash, he can't afford to let it die. The Rock wanted a franchise of his own and tried to take more and more control of F&F, got into a fight with Diesel, and was ultimately booted off.
Ironically I dislike Vin more here as he essentially used Paul to keep his franchise going even after his death, and there's no way The Rock would've lost a fight with him in F&F5, which makes me think it was Vin himself who got that part written in.
I was just thinking of something: you mentioned you hated Atom Smasher. I kept trying to think who Noah Centino was trying to channel with his performance, and who the writers were trying to rip off: Ezra' Miller's characterization of Barry Allen. Nerdy, fast talking, hyper and that whole thing about needing constant snacks. It took me a minute but that's what I think this film was trying to rip off with Centino's characterization of Atom Smasher. LOL.
Except the grooming, stealing alcohol kidnapping a teen ... Centino didn't copy that part. I cant believe that ass hat Miller still going to be in the Flashpoint and yet no definitive word was put out as to "he will no longer be in the DCEU"

I feel like the only reason this movie was created is so Dwayne fans could feast their eyes on how Dwayne punches people in a face like he usually does... what a waste.
No it was made to set up the bigger fight with Shazam! and Superman! and it should've been a debut in Shazam, but DC was impatient, as was Rock and they jumped the gun. Dwayne fans are movie fans as he is a movie star - he just isn't a lead - he should've been in an ensemble piece like Shazam! then later on in Suicide Squad as the protagonist or Justice League - he rushed his film. As you said, what a waste. There are franchises that have made millions out of punches in face - Transformers are up to chapter 8 as is Fast and Furious.

One of things that makes Namor better, is that Tenoch Huerta (the actor who plays Namor) doesn’t have a contract that’s says he can’t lose a fight. The reason The Rock can’t lose a fight is because of his F&F contract says he can’t.

The guy just is good with crowds, but isn't a lead actor - just needs to do ensemble features. One thing he could stand to do is get a series and rebrand his drama chops ... something like that would be very good for him rather than trying to knock everything out of the park.

That's what made Black Adam differemt. The Rock actually played the character instead of himself.
Cavill was great for Witcher. I just wish they had just focused more on him and less on every one else.
Henry knew the story & character but the writers decided to act like assholes & thought they knew better.
Don't even need to watch the video. You had me at the title - I completely agree and I'm glad folks in the DC fandom are acknowledging that. Glad we aren't going to get more of it. When the best part of the film is the post-credit of Cavill's Superman, you've missed the mark.

I would recommend Shazam, it was actually very good up until the end, it got a little cheesy, but still overall decent.

Here is a problem, the movie isn't even bad but nowhere near good though. It's such a middling generic that is not worthy of being called the worst because there is absolutely nothing notable. With the news that reshoots added another 70-80 million on top of 195 million then a ton of marketing costs. The worst part of the movie is defenders claiming it's successful.

It's bad but it's obviously just supposed to be a dumb popcorn filler movie.
Personally I'm glad Henry Cavill was let go from Superman. I don't quite care for his acting. I think he was decent in Mission Impossible but I think he was very bland as Superman nor did he make me like Superman but I fill the same for Affleck (but I actually like Batman prior).
But this film to me is only good for the JSA. Which were created by Geoff Johns and I absolutely do not like his influence on The Justice League Movie. I wouldn't be surprised if Geoff Johns convinced him to do this film and offered to edit the script for him.

Funny thing is ..why did it work for Tom Holland and not for this guy? Because his film flopped. Holland's didn't and people still have the same annoyance with his characterisation , he just was in hits and Centino wasn't.

Dude Reeves SFX were HORRIFIC. That does not carry over now - ill watch Man of Steel again and again - 1978 Superman is OVERRATED as hell. Too much is made about that - it was good FOR ITS TIME. Basically Superman is HARD TO WRITE FOR that's why there were so many delays about its creation.

The only thing I remember about Birds of Prey was Joker and Harley Quinn breaking up.
Best part(s) of Birds of Prey was Ewan McGregor’s performance as Black Mask. You can tell he was having a blast playing a sadistic gangster and it shows. Everyone else was forgettable & phoning it in for the paycheck. I wish they didn’t kill him off in the end, but it doesn’t matter now.
I liked the movie. It was on par with most of the DC movies as of late. It wasn’t the best in the world but I enjoyed it. I’m less concerned about how much it made compared to other movies. It not making 500m+ is not my concern as a audience member. I just want to see a movie and enjoy my time watching.

The rock has become just a brand. He stopped being an actor of any kind a long time ago. I’m surprised it’s not in his contract that he gets to carry around a can of his energy drink and a bottle of his tequila in every movie.
He was ok in the Wahlberg movie Michael Bay did. He can rebound and do something else . will take some time, but he's not a lead. Great guy in the public, its a shame he couldn't quite get the writers.

No one likes annoying child characters. They get in the way, they don't listen, and at some point their actions call for them to need to be rescued.
The Justice Society has so many cooler members, but they chose "Grow Big Guy" and "Wind Girl."
His relationship to Atom Smasher was integral to Adam's story arc in the comics. So they didn't just randomly choose "grow big guy," they just didn't use him right.

What surprised me was some of their powers ,like how he woke from 5000 years knowing perfect english without an accent. And how Cyclones power changed her hair style, length, and color. Amazing.
Some things you just have to ignore. Like, how does Thanos speak perfect English when he wasn’t even born on Earth? It doesn’t matter.

If you actually paid attention to the movie he loses the ability to speak English. The powers of Shazam give the bearer extended knowledge and allows the person to learn and speak foreign languages - it is literally from the comics. If you paid attention he doesn't speak English at first, he speaks his native language when freed, only after hearing the language does he pick up on it and he speaks very little of it, once he renounces his powers he goes back to actually speaking what he actually knows - minus the powers. I guess you thought you were clever about that but no, you're just ignorant with comprehension issues.
I think the best thing inevitably that will happen to Rock’s career is that people won’t want to see him in these movies anymore and some actual meaty and character driven roles that aren’t just action movies made by idiots, written for him to play might actually come his way.
His best movie is still The Rundown and while some of the action movies are fun and a hit, a good half or more of them are only watchable because he’s in them and they’re doing nothing for his acting skill development.

I just watched this movie on Amazon Prime and it was very a bad movie. The story line, the conversations, and the acting were really bad. I couldn't finish it.

Its obvious the movie never intended to make BA a vilain, is would not say he is a hero, just some guy doing some good and not giving a damn how he does it. Don't care they changed the back story, don't care they made BA more of a hero. I really liked seeing him toasting the bad guys. Yeah, to bad they removed the plane scene, loved to see him do that in the movie. Quite funny the "don't give a damn and don't fuck with me guy". I mean leave me alone or I fuck you up, makes sense to me. If I had his powers, you try coming with a fighter jet at me trying to tell me what to do, you better be sure I would be blasting :D
his arc COULD have been the bad guy in SHAZAM! then reformed and basically joining the Justice League as a means of convenience against a greater threat. Brainiac (Injustice 2) or along those lines. But DC couldn't build the brand with enough consecutive hits and very few people knew Black Adam. Just a rush job of a poorly conceived story and they thought "star power" would do the rest.

I had already seen the reviews before watching but after seeing it for the first time last night I was absolutely amazed. black Adam is possibly the worst movie I've ever seen in my entire life.
I was hoping Black Adam would take a Man of Steel approach to really make us sympathize with his struggle and make us understand why he is the way he is. But the film seems to be more focused on action scenes and off placed humour.

Yes it had scenes like that but like I said it seemed more focused on action scenes and Black Adam trying to crack one liners. I do like the twist at the end where he's not actually the hero and that it was really his son.

Why reboot Aquaman? I would like to see that sequel. It was fun. Man DC has screwed up. A great Wonder Woman ruined by it’s sequel. Their Flash goes insane. The Snyder cut was great.
Yeah, they had options for that sequel, and still could've kept Steve Trevor - as himself. Just get rid of the wishing plotline and bring in the Greek Gods. Didn't they have a budget for that? Cersei is too out of synch with the mainstream? Fine, then bring another Amazon - Nubia to offset Diana... maybe have the plot be to try to bring Diana back to Themyscira or something. The second movie lacked starpower and Barbara Minerva was miscast - Charlize Theron wasn't available?

Since the movie covers the 'Flashpoint' storyline, and introduces different versions of heroes, its a good place to do the universe reboot, since the time travel story literally reboots history itself. That being said, it will need even more reshoots to actually properly destroy the old DCU...
Apparently, Ezra Miller was offered to reprise his role as the Flash for Gunn's DCU, alongside Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Jason Momoa as Aquaman and Zachary Levi as Shazam.
I flicked the channel, it was on, I lost interest after 30 seconds. Wooden acting. It was The Rock acting like The Rock.
You do know the way Shazam powers work is that he has to be out in the open in order for the lightning bolt to hit him, so no he would not be able to transform while being in the prison
No he doesn't. The lightning is magical in nature. He could be hundreds of feet underground and it would still work. Have you even read a comic? All he has to do is say Shazam.

The majority of this video was just complaining about The Rock and the movies plot, the movie was far from great, but was far from “horrible”
-the CGI was good
-the action was amazing
-every couples jokes were bearable
(Unlike phase 4 marvel’s)
Also, as a comic fan I was disappointed that the rock wasn’t really a Villian, but he killed TONS of people. -which DC heros don’t do (except in their horrible live action incarnations like Batfleck) -most of these decisions are actually not even the actors faults, like Afleck never wanted his Batman to kill, and the Rock actually pushed for this movie to be more “R and brutal”
It’s fine if you don’t like it, but calling it horrible is a stretch, especially when you only give behind the scenes crap and “plot” as reasons
-I also think that people give way to much hate to the majority of DC, half of their live action content sucks, but the other half is decent/good (like Man of steal, Wonder Woman, Shazam, The suicide squad, Snyder cut, and The Batman)
{I also highly recommend watching the DC animated movies, they’re often forgot due to people attributing them to kids, but they’re actually much more brutal than the entirety of MCU, and have just as good of a story}. -marvel rules in live action, DC rules in gaming & animation. But that doesn’t mean that they can both still have good content in either field
Oh yes, The Scorpion King 2.0. No doubt this movie had a chance to be good, but falls flat in everything. Have not really followed The Rock, but it is amazing how bad he is and makes guys like Shaq look so good, even though neither of them can act. Would rather watch Steel again over anything modern Superhero movie by Marvel or DC.
its amazing how he gets CHEERS wherever he goes .. how cool he is with fans in general. I dont know what it is with Hollywood, but they can make who they want popular easily.

I liked the scene where Blagk Adam was released from his prison. The speed of his powers was awesome how they made it look, should have had him burning up bodies and punching 10 punches to ten guys in 2 seconds for the whole movie

Black Adam was mediocre, but entertaining. It's still a better DC film than Suicide Squad and Birds of Prey.
