  • I am absolutely loving everything offered by this laptop. Epic performance at a (relatively) thin body and that mini LED screen is just crazy good. The caveat though, might make or break the deal for you.

    Remember this is a first gen product! The second generation of any product is usually the largest leap in innovation. The fact it's already this good as me excited. I can't wait for the next one.

    • @NasiLemakTech
      @NasiLemakTech  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is considered second gen since it's based off on the Flow X13 from last year - but I get your point.

      bigger leap on price too... especially with rtx 4000 series and new intel chip

      The second gen is launched with intel which is not my cup of tea as it loses on battery efficiency. Even now no one will buy it coz og G16 and M16. Amd was saving this laptop

    Need help. Is the digitizer on it bad? I can see at places.. Does it have the grid like structure where you can see small boxes that the entry level 2 in 1s have because that looks very ugly.
    Also, my usage is very limited. I am buying it just for the screen..i want it to be best..i will be watching movies, browsing and note taking..do let me know if it is made for me..will really appreciate your reply.

    Thanks for the review. I don't mind the weight and I like the size, especially that it is 16:10, not 16:9 which gives me more lines when I'm coding. The biggest drawback I see is the missing numeric keypad. I hope they will bring a version next year that will also include that, then I'll be perfectly happy. It might even become a bit bigger to include that if it has to.

    • @NasiLemakTech
      @NasiLemakTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's interesting to know that many people treat the numeric keypad as a "make or break" purchase decision.
      I for one would rather not have a numpad but I did get some backlash before for mentioning in a video that numpads should be removed 💀
      Either way, lemme send this feedback to ROG. I doubt they'll include a numpad on a gaming laptop, but maybe they'll make another similar laptop that's not within the gaming lineup and includes a numpad.

    • @PEdulis
      @PEdulis ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@NasiLemakTech It's noz a make or break issue, I ordered mine but I still hope they'll include one in an upcoming version of it.
      I don't care if they call it a gaming laptop or whatever else, I mainly use it for coding in c++ and for database development for which I need the power it offers. I'm simply used to using a numpad plus the additional keys it offers like pos1 and such without having to use an additional FN key to access these functionalities and it slows me down when I can't use them. But the concept of having this power in a laptop that can also be used as a tablet with a touch screen to present the end result of what I develop outweighs the lack of the numpad. I'd still want it included though. ;)
      I'll probably use it in tent mode with an external keyboard for coding, I'll have to see.

    Just went to the asus store to check out this laptop, i find that the hinge is quite loose when used as a laptop. Maybe it had been designed this way to allow easy flip over, but its something to be worried if intended to use for 3-4 years.
    Also foumd out malaysia asus offered gpu rtx 3070ti but cpu ryzen 7 6800hs
    Singapore asus offered gpu 3060 and cpu ryzen 9 6900hs
    To get gpu 3070ti and cpu ryzen 9 6900hs, have to ordered elsewhere like from korea
    Because the loose hinge is an issue to me, I will probably wait for next year model to see any improvement

    • @NasiLemakTech
      @NasiLemakTech  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The hinge yea, a bit loose if I want to use the touchscreen also. Too wobbly but that's the nature of convertible laptops.
      As for the specs, I think ASUS Malaysia struck a great balance here. A lot of apps are now relying more on GPU (including apps like After Effects and Premiere Pro) instead of CPU. So, scaling the GPU to Ryzen 7 is actualy good. Save us some money and get a better GPU instead.

    • @abdarafi
      @abdarafi ปีที่แล้ว

      Does X13 have the same issue with the hinge?

    • @NasiLemakTech
      @NasiLemakTech  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@abdarafi Same - and it's not an issue. Inherently, convertible laptops like this will be a bit more wobbly if you're using the touch screen.

    I got this machine hoping I could use it as an all in solution but I’ll be returning it
    I was using a desktop Alienware r13 with 12th gen i7 and rtx 3080ti for home for some gaming
    Plus a Microsoft surface studio laptop (I’m a salesman I do in home consultations) love the surface studio laptop
    And a MacBook Air por personal stuf
    I was hoping the x16 would replace all to unify, dock it at home to replace desktop and take it to customers homes
    But, the battery life is so bad compared to the studio laptop it only lasts 2-3 hours in silent mode and eco GPU mode with 60% brightness just using Microsoft whiteboard and building a quote
    The machine goes to a deep sleep after 5 mins of closing the lid and you have to press the power button and takes much longer that surface to reload
    I wanted to
    Love it, love the mini led display

    Is the laptop any good for professional artist, can the screen get warm when you draw with it , and also does it come with pen pressure ?

    • @NasiLemakTech
      @NasiLemakTech  ปีที่แล้ว

      For professional artists, I won't recommend this laptop. The screen doesn't get warm but the pen is not that sensitive and the palm rejection is not that good.

    • @SuiTsuan_Ong
      @SuiTsuan_Ong ปีที่แล้ว +1

      using Asus Pen 2.0 will get better drawing performance than the included pen, palm rejection can be customised in windows setting. It it still not like the premium performers like surface, ipad or samsung tho
