    What do you guys think of the ASUS ROG Flow X16? I want everything to use mini led or oled going forward. Also, if you missed it check out my video on the HP Pavilion Plus. Insanely well priced for what you get th-cam.com/video/tK3G-lAKgds/w-d-xo.html

      Finally dude, finally. would you compare the cpu power of it and the x13 both from 100w usb-c the xg mobile 3080 and also the x16 from 240w wall power only, also i would see a test of the 125w 3070ti from 240w wall power from 100w usb-c power and also compare it to the 150w 3080 xg mobile? aso with the xg mobile, how muh better will get the cpu performance compare to 240w wall power only and usb-c power, thanks in advance! Do you have any solution to use windows prntscreen on this laptop?

    I've had mine for a few days now. I don't game much at all, what i use it for is 3d modelling & rendering for landscape architecture. It's a damn sight cheaper than workstation equivalents, has much better features and still looks completely professional. unlike pretty much all over powerful gaming laptops.
    i've already taken this to clients to show them around models & renders in tablet mode, letting them navigate with their fingers. Inside, and outside on the sites.
    This laptop i feel will earn its money back in no time at all.
    Also;
    - You can charge it from usb c.
    - It runs completely silent for normal spreadsheet, streaming, youtube, emails etc.
    - The screen rotates any which way you want, so you can have the warm air keeping you warm if you're outside/in the cold, or rotate the device and have the vents blowing away from you.
    lovely machine so far.
    p.s the hinge is plenty stiff enough on mine

    hey Matt! thx for great review :) Was waiting for it, because I’m really interested in this product (to replace my GX531GX). As I heard there is one solution for achieving better thermals - just put it in tent mode or place it on cooling pad. Because its convertible they made really small rubber feet’s under it, in other words they just chocked air vents.
    Would be nice to see the temps on cooling pad and in tent mode. Nonetheless I will still buy this product, it will be perfect for my type of use. Cheers :)

    No one is going to pick up their laptop with a screen that wide open @2:15. In laptop mode there is a notch in the mechanism that will stop the hinge from going beyond 95 degrees which means if you pick up your laptop in laptop mode it will not flop.

    The perfect high-end laptop: 16:10, MUX switch, 2in1 convertible, mini-LED, HUGE battery with very efficient AMD6000 CPU. replaceable ram, extremely small and light for the high end specs, probably 8-9 hr battery when using the very competent iGPU.
    This marvel of engineering is the perfect proper gaming laptop . I really wish it came with the Radeon 6700S or 6850M options . They would have managed to make it around 200-300 grams lighter and $200 cheaper.

      Asus make some of the best laptops on the market. The only thing that's prevented me from buying one is that they sell all of their ROG models with ANSI layouts in ISO countries. Their low end machines all use the correct layout. Why is this excluded when you pay for the premium models?

    0:14 Dude...
    1. Tent mode raises the operating components off the desk/bed to improve thermals and reduce ingress collection. Tent mode also takes up less space for watching series and movies on a plane.
    2. You can lay it flat with more peace of mind than a clamshell that can lay flat
    3. If you eat your greens and do your pushups, tablet mode allows easier content consumption walking around the house.
    4. You no longer suffer from bottom firing speakers.
    Take it from someone that moved from a puny, old Acer swift convertible to a traditional gaming clamshell. It's an acquired taste but the benefits are there if not ideal for a gaming laptop.

    I'm so happy it's a convertible because I annotate a lot and touch screens with stylus support is standard for my work flow now.

    • @acdbrn2000
      @acdbrn2000 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It has a webcam with windows face unlock. The 2560x1600 resolution is the resolution with or without the multi zone mini led nebula display. The quality of the webcam is so so at best, but that really does come down to software more then hardware. For me it is fine since if it didn’t support face unlock I would have just blocked the webcam otherwise and if there was no webcam I would have also not cared in the slightest.

    Hi! For everybody, who wants to know how it goes one year later. There are a lot of problems to talk about... Here is my experience with Asus ROG Flow X16 2023:
    First of all I am a hardcore gamer and a game developer. So I used this laptop every day and push it to the limits a lot while I am working or playing. So problem number 1: after one year of everyday use the painting gets completely off (literally) in the areas where your hands rest below the keyboard. Problem 2 the integrated keyboard started to get randomly disconnected, so you are left with the touchpad only most of the time. Problem 3: even if you are not gaming or doing heavy tasks the maximum of battery lifetime which I ever had from the moment when I purchased this laptop was 2 hours total.

      Both tent-mode and stand-mode improve the thermals quite a lot.

    • @MatthewMoniz
      @MatthewMoniz  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Manuel-rl6um peak brightness is different from max brightness. Max brightness is around 500 nits. Peak brightness kicks in when using HDR or some SDR content that requires a small portion of the screen to increase its brightness for a small portion of time. A good example is watching HDR content and lets say there is a bright element on the screen like the sun that little portion might kick up to 1100nits while the rest of the display remains a constant 500. Really important for HDR. Hope that makes sense!

    Asus finally releases a laptop with a mini led display. I been wanting a mini led display on a laptop back when there was a 4k mini led display on the msi creator 17 with the Intel i7 cpu and 2070 max q. The msi creator 17 mini led has a 4k mini led with a 1000 nits max brightness that I really wanted but the downside is that the ram and ssd were soldered into the motherboard so that made me changed my mind.

      Same. Also this new 16" mini led screen is way better than that old 17" of the MSI - it has 512 zones vs 240 zones of backlight. And speakers are better and everything else is too basically.

    • @KumaMech
      @KumaMech 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      i have an msi gs75 with the 4k mini led display (which i got for a steal at $1500 CAD). It's basically same thing as creator 17 except different colour scheme. ram and ssd are NOT soldered on. The problem is if you want to replace them, you have to take out the motherboard because they are on the other side. it also has a spare slot for another ssd.
      also, minimum brightness on the mini led display is pretty high on sdr mode. if i remember correctly, i measured mine at 120 nits minimum, which is blinding in a dimly lit room with a mostly white screen. it was one of the first mini led displays for laptops so brightness levels don't discriminate whether you are in hdr mode or sdr. battery drains super fast at 1000 nits too XD
