    A great form transportation to look into Is Johnny’s California shuttle service. I like them because my girls still need car seats and they supply them. There is an additional fee but it’s not bad. I booked a trip in May of last year (Long Beach Airport) and it was $60 each way but i did not use car seats.

    • @AnaheimParkTourist

      Thank you for this comment! We were not aware of this service. Do you mind if we mention this in our next video? Traveling with little ones that requires a car seat is a lot more difficult. Especially if you have to bring a car seat.
      When we went to Sweden, our boys were in booster seats. We purchased a travel booster seat that is called Bubble Bum, approved for us in the EU and USA. If folds and stores in a back pack when not in use. When our friends picked us up at the airport, we pulled out the booster seats, spent a few seconds blowing up, and we were good to go. So much nicer than brining a full on booster seat.
      Thank you for the comment and watching our video.

    We usually fly into John Wayne airport and it is very conveniently located. We did hate driving in the area but were able to do so safely - if also a bit stressfully. So much more traffic than we were used to. This is a great idea for a series!

Driving from the airport to the office was always super stressful since I wasn't familiar with the area and had to use paper maps from the rental car lol. I am dating myself now!

    Hi Crystal and Jim. This was fabulous information. Good call on creating the video. I remember back in the day, the local hotels there offered a free shuttle bus to the park, if you were staying at the hotel. Later, they had the shuttles, but you had to pay a small fee (couple dollars each) to ride them. Those days are long gone 😁🤣. So having this type of information and options is critical. 😀~Ali 🎀🏰💖

      Thank you! We have been wanting to make this video for a while. If I am not mistaken we have about 6-8 more parts to this series and it will take a while to get all of those parts out. We will be mixing this series in between our normal hotel tours and the occasional vlog.
      Very few hotels offer shuttles to the park now. Offhand, Anaheim Majestic and Candy Cane still offer shuttles from the Hotel to Disneyland. Candy Cane is still closed due to a major renovation.

    At the end of December we flew into John Wayne Airport and used Uber/Lyft to-from our hotel. It was about $25/trip before tip and super easy! You are right that LA traffic is no joke and it was a relief to have the driver know exactly how to get there. They even dropped us right at our terminal entrance back at the airport. This was our first time using this service so we were nervous but it was a piece of cake. P.S. It rained both days we were there so I think we're planning a do-over sometime this spring :-)

    • @AnaheimParkTourist
      @AnaheimParkTourist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      John Wayne is such an easy airport to use to get to Disneyland. We do use Uber and Lyft quite a bit around our town and when on vacation and it is super convenient. Neither of us enjoy driving in new cities, especially if we have never been there before. We went to Sweden to visit our friends a few years ago and spent a few days in London. While in London we used a similar service called Addison Lee, it was such a lifesaver.
      You are right about LA traffic. We have waited many hours in traffic when driving to Disneyland.
      We love rainy days but since the park tends to be less crowded. However, we completely understand wanting to redo the trip. Nothing beats a warm Southern California day. Keep on eye out for conventions this spring, they are back. I believe the week of March 6 there is a convention coming to town and hotel prices are astronomically high. Thank you for watching!

    I'm an avid solo Disneyland goer and for transportation from the LAX airport to Disneyland and back I use Prime time Shuttle. For a round trip using their Express service it costs me $176 including tip (tipping varies between each person). Important note, going to LAX from Disneyland takes approximately 45 minutes in the morning time from my experiences, so for domestic flights start heading out at least 3 hours from your flight departure time.

    • @AnaheimParkTourist
      @AnaheimParkTourist  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thank you for that shuttle tip, we might give it a try for our next trip. The cost seems very reasonable. We used to drive all the time but since we moved, this was our first trip flying in a long time. Is that a group shuttle or is that private with just you?
      We always plan on a ton of traffic when we go to the area. On this particular trip, it only took us about 45 minutes since we arrived in the evening. I believe we boarded the shuttle around 10pm.
      This trip we we left after I got off of work. Typically if we want to fly down on Friday, we have to wait until the kids are out of school. For our next trip family trip, we are planning on leaving on a Saturday morning.
      Thanks -Jim

      @@AnaheimParkTourist Prime Time Shuttle use to do shared rides before the pandemic that were much cheaper, but post pandemic they have no more shared rides. The price I mentioned is for my own non-stop ride service. I'm pretty sure party size could be a limiting factor, but since I'm a solo traveler I've never had to deal with that.
      Important note: Just like Uber and Lyft, Prime Time Drivers use their own personal vehicles.

      Thanks! I don't blame anyone for not wanting to drive here. It can be very stressful, especially if you aren't familiar with the area. I used to have a travel job (pre GPS days) where I was in a different city every week. It was always difficult finding the local office we were going to work at.
      That is great you can get some good deals. I think you need to plan ahead and take advantage of sales. We visited our friends in Idaho last month (the Uber ride Crystal was talking about in the video) and the two of us flew direct and roundtrip for $153.

    You guys are so awesome! You said everything I was thinking as well. I can easily fly into John Wayne and an Uber for up to 3 costs me $35-40 each way. I walk from my hotel and avoid all parking fees. I will never fly into LAX again. If you have to use LAX, I would recommend not trying to go to the parks on travel day. There’s enough to do at Downtown Disney and the Disney hotels to familiarize yourself before park days. It’s more fun to rest and be excited for the parks than to feel rushed (while moving so slowly 😂)!

    • @AnaheimParkTourist
      @AnaheimParkTourist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      LAX is a tough to get to the parks, the traffic makes it rough. I was visiting a friend in Newport Beach and got stuck in LA traffic during commute hours. I don't remember the exact time but it took me 3-4 hours to get from the north side of LA down to Newport Beach. I was so ready to be out of my car at that point.
      Uber and Lyft are usually our go to service when we fly into an airport. It is super convenient and easy to use. When we go on vacation, we prefer not to drive, we just want to relax and have a good time. Thank you for watching!

      I've flown into LAX multiple times when I visit Disneyland and it is definitely a busy airport with lots of traffic. I always choose early morning flights and the drive from LAX to Anaheim, from my experiences, takes approximately 45 minutes (it's the same amount of time from Anaheim to LAX in the morning). Hi there! I am more than happy to help out. Give me about an hour to respond, I am handling an issue at work. Did you have a budget in mind? I will try to give you a number of different choices.

    • @AnaheimParkTourist
      @AnaheimParkTourist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      There are a few unknowns at the time I am writing this and those are budgets and number of people in your party.
      Closest to the park these will probably be around $200-250 a night, in that ballpark.
      We really like:
      Park Vue: Decent rooms and probably the closest motel to Disneyland. It is probably a 5 minute walk to the turnstiles. *Free parking when we stayed there. Double check if that is the case today. When we stayed the front desk was not staffed 24 hours a day (*double check that as well). The check in process is a bit different if coming in late.
      The next two are owned by the same owner. Both are similar on the inside and we would pick the one that is offering cheaper rates. Right now these two are probably the nicest motels across from the harbor entrance, as far as overall room conditions. Both are reasonably close. Camelot is valet only and I believe Tropicana might be as well.
      Tropicana
      Camelot
      Best Western Park Place Inn (we recently stayed at mini suites and we had a number of noise issues there)
      This is probably an older remodel, very similar to Park Vue. The rooms are nice and comfortable. Double check parking fees and parking policy. We heard that this hotel is valet only and are parking cars off property.
      Little Further Away
      The next two are hotels:
      We love Howard Johnson but the prices can be expensive and they now charge for parking. Buildings 1 and 2 are nicely renovated.
      Wyndham - Offers free parking and great customer service. Their rooms are spacious and we enjoyed our stay here. This hotel is on the corner of Harbor and Katella
      Alpine Inn prices were fair, we booked a 1 bedroom suite, it was a comfortable room and the price was $180 a night. It is about the same walk as Wyndham. Free parking and a small resort fee
      Castle Inn - This is an older remodel. The walls are thin and you can hear people walking around outside the room and above you. Overall it isn't a bad place to stay but we probably wouldn't stay more than 2 nights. Free Parking, but the lot is very tight. Rooms seem to be running around 190 a night.
      We have stayed at Desert Inn quite a bit and this place is typically your bargain motel that is directly across the street. Typically Castle Inn and Desert Inn have the best prices for hotels that are close to the Harbor entrance. However, our last stay at Desert didn't go too well. The room was really dirty and the beds were really worn out.
      Are you looking at specific hotels? Do you have questions about any of the above that I listed?
