    Fantastic video as always! I especially appreciate your pointing out that the Disney owned hotels are not as close as people think. The grand Californian is a large sprawling hotel. One time, we still had to walk almost 20 minutes to the front gate of Disneyland. It wasn’t worth taking my afternoon break to walk all the way back there and you can’t take an Uber 😉. I forgot about the Anaheim majestic hotel! It’s a big hotel with a pretty good restaurant and gift shop plus it has its own shuttle. The prices were very reasonable and we still made it to rope drop each day on the shuttle.

      We have heard stories that the walk can be very long depending on where your room is located. When we have stayed at the GCH, our room was fairly close to the lobby. We have been with friends that stayed at DVC and another time with a DTD view, their rooms weren't too bad of a walk. Wow, 20 minutes, that is crazy. That is quite a walk and sort of defeats the purpose of staying on property.
      We plan on staying at Anaheim Majestic at some point in the future. We almost booked it for our next trip but some other hotels in the area were well under $200 a night and we had to take advantage of the lower pricing.

      We were lucky to get Home 2 Suites and Element for about 165 each + Taxes. We were just searching their websites and noticed the rate drops.

    We remembered staying at the Grand Californian Hotel twice over a decade ago and we pretty much have the actual hotel room floor plan memorized and one of these days we will plan out the actual floor plan for each of the hotel floors and the room locations and more.

    • @AnaheimParkTourist
      @AnaheimParkTourist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We haven't stayed there in a while ourselves due to the cost. Our friends typically stay there 2-3 times a year and they are nice enough to invite us over when our trips coincide.
      That is quite a huge undertaking and would love to see that. We would love to see your floor plan when you finish. Thank you for watching!

    Great information, thank you! I appreciate the break down by area, it can be hard to see those differences just looking at a map. In December we stayed at the Marriot Convention location and distance-wise the walk wasn't bad, but what made it long was waiting for all the street crossings! Also, we took the ART on day 2 because it was raining, but by the time you wait for it to arrive and get loaded it's faster to walk. Here's a tip for everyone: if you're taking the ART from the Marriot, walk across the driveway to get on at the Hilton bus stop. The bus stops there first and fills up then passes by the Marriot side! I'm looking at the SunCoast for our next trip, I watched your walking video on that one (thank you) and it looked like only two big streets to cross. I have no patience at red lights when I'm trying to get to Disney! LOL.

    • @AnaheimParkTourist
      @AnaheimParkTourist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That is a great tip about taking ART at the Marriott! We find a lot of times it is just faster to walk if you are staying around 1 mile out, rather than to wait for a shuttle. The walk isn't bad from the Suncoast and it is a great hotel. It looks like they removed all the couches and added a chair where the couch used to be.
      Sometimes those red lights take forever. On the newer videos I just edit out those red light waits. When we filmed the Hyatt House, we hit green lights at every intersection and never had to wait for a red light (we should have played the lottery :D ). Hotel wise Home 2 Suites, Hilton Garden Inn Anaheim, and the Holiday Inn next door have 1 crossing and Desert Palms has 1 crossing, That is off the top of my head. Thank you for watching and leaving a comment.

    Other than the 2 Disney hotel we had stayed in while visiting Disneyland, the only neighborhood hotel we have stayed in is Desert Palm Hotel and Suites next to the 7-11 on the corner of harbor blvd. We have stayed there about 3 times so far… if we don’t want to spend that extra money at one of the Disney hotel. Definitely check them out if you haven’t.

      We love the Disney bubble so much but that bubble is so expensive! We have a number of favorite places to stay around Anaheim and they are all located in different areas. For us, price is usually the determining factor. We love to stay on Harbor but sometimes those hotels are just too expensive. Thank you for watching.

    didn’t know about the “Garden Grove” area of hotels, great tip! also that Target you mentioned has an Amazing!! souvenir collection for shopping at lower prices than Disney. have you ever used ARTIC before for transportation? if so have you caught the ART line from there? curious if you have, and your experience using it. another awesome video in this series, can’t wait for part 3. thanks for sharing ✨

    • @AnaheimParkTourist
      @AnaheimParkTourist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We have stayed in this area a handful of times. It is much further out and less convenient but you can get some great rates for name brand hotels. Our friends stayed in Garden Grove and ART was so crowded that they had to Uber back to their hotel room. That of course was pre-pandemic and I am not 100% sure how that line is today. Our next trip we will be taking ART.

    You guys have such awesome information on where to stay at Disneyland. Someday we would love to be able to use our DVC points at the Grand Californian, but it's so hard to get into. But it's nice that there are so many good neighbor hotels within walking distance that won't cost you a fortune. Thanks for putting so much great information out there!

    • @AnaheimParkTourist
      @AnaheimParkTourist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you so much and hope people do find this useful. This is stuff we wanted to know about WDW. We know people struggle with Disneyland for similar and different reasons. Not having many Disney owned resorts that are affordable make it a struggle.
      DVC at the Grand is nice. A friend of ours has the Grand as their home resort and she says it is tough to get in there. She invited us over one time for dinner and viewing of the World of Color! I even think when the new Disneyland Hotel DVC tower opens it will be a struggle to get in there. Thank you for watching!

    Paradise Pier is basically a Days Inn with Disney artwork. We were not impressed with it. The Grand Californian is amazing but we couldn't afford to stay there very long. We usually stay somewhere cheap and take the ART buses in to the parks. Y'all have really become experts at this area. Thanks for all the information in this series!

    • @AnaheimParkTourist
      @AnaheimParkTourist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      We used to be regulars at Paradise Pier years ago. It has had a major remodel in a very long time and it does not have enough elevators to handle peak crowds. They did implement a new elevator system but we haven't stayed there since implemented. We did use the system to visit friends and it seems like it helps but it may still be an issue.
      We love the GCH but wow, that requires a lot of money to stay there. The same with the Disneyland Hotel. We typically only stay on property for special trips.
      ART is a whole new ballgame right now. We will go over that on our next video. Thank you for watching.

    Question please. When leaving a hotel - holiday inn and suites - when you take ART does it go in the same lane that Uber etc go like when people drop off their kids or do they have their own lane? I see that the Uber etc lane is packed and backed up. Thank you

    • @AnaheimParkTourist
      @AnaheimParkTourist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi! There is a special drop off zone that is only open to buses. If you watch our ART video, we show the zone. Buses can get long lines but it is not all crazy like the drop off area.
