    This is good to know. I've been to LAX before and I definitely don't want to drive to or from there. We'd like to go to Disneyland but not rent a car. Knowing there is a good shuttle service is nice and makes it possible without stress. Thanks for the info.

      This is a great option for people who don't want to drive on vacation. The shuttle was super convenient but as always, renting a car gives you a bit more freedom. However, you are stuck paying those parking fees at the hotels.

    I'm flying over to LAX with my mum in June to spend a few days in Anaheim/LA. Was wondering what is the cheapest & easiest way to get from the airport to our hotel in Anaheim. Uber,taxis,etc sound really expensive,so I'm presuming that shuttles are the best way to go.Thanks for your video,as it was very informative.

    • @AnaheimParkTourist

      So happy the video was helpful!! We felt having something booked ahead of time gave us some extra piece of mind. Plus, Uber and Lyft are great, but if their pricing is surging, it can be very expensive. And there is no way to predict ahead of time if the pricing will surge. So we liked having a set price no matter what. Have a wonderful trip in June and happy holidays!! Thank you for watching ☺️

      I know an even cheaper way to get to Anaheim. It will take a little longer but if you are wanting to save money it's worth it. First take a Flyaway bus from LAX to Union Station. I want to say it was 15 dollars. Then take a Metrolink from Union Station to Anaheim station 15 dollars and finally take an uber to your hotel once in Anaheim.

    We are so glad we stumbled upon this vlog! We are not familiar with the area at all and have been trying to figure out the best/cheapest way to get around. We are hoping to do Disneyland and Universal, and we’re thinking of an Uber, but like you said they price surge. That’s what got us thinking of shuttles or renting a car. We are traveling with a child so not sure what your opinion is? Thanks for the great information so far!

    • @AnaheimParkTourist
      @AnaheimParkTourist  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      First thank you. We have have been fairly fortunate the last few trips we have made and the Uber has been about 60 dollars + tip each direction from LAX to Disneyland. Of course, there is always a risk of a surge depending on the time of day and demand. We do have an LAX to Disneyland Uber video if you are interested in watching it.
      One option is you can Uber/Lyft to the Disneyland resort then rent a car when you go to Universal. There are a number of car rental agencies close to the Disneyland resort. This way you can rent the car on the day you go to Universal and avoid additional car rental and parking fees on Disneyland days. If you schedule your Uber or Lyft ahead of time on your return to the airport, it is a flat rate.
      I would estimate the costs of renting a car and hotel parking vs. Uber/Lyft fees and shuttle fees. I would base my decision overall costs and the hassle of driving in the area. Typically when I am vacation I don't like to drive.
      The other thing to be aware of some people aren't comfortable driving in Southern California. Everyone is different but I like to mention this because we do see comments stating this.
      I hope this information helps out and we are more than happy to help out more.

      @@AnaheimParkTourist Thank you for all the information! We have heard some stories about the traffic out there so not sure if we would want to deal with it, especially from LAX. The directions don’t seem to bad though from Disneyland to Universal but again not familiar with the area. We agree with you too on not having to drive while on vacation. That is a huge reason we love Disney World as it’s so easy to get around without having a car.
      We have begun watching more of your vlogs and they have been super helpful!! We are trying to plan out the Universal side of our trip but seems like there are only two hotels within walking distance? We looked quick but didn’t see Universal coverage, so not sure if you have any suggestions over there? Again, thank you for all your help, we really appreciate it!!

      @@cklo8799 hi! So we are hoping to expand to go to other theme parks in the SoCal area at some point. We just haven’t had time to get up that way yet unfortunately. We are looking forward to going at some point and getting a giant pink Simpsons doughnut 🤣😂

    Thanks for this video. I have been trying to find a shuttle for myself in a wheelchair and MidWil can do it! I texted and they DID get back to me right away! One bit of info I would appreciate is to know how much you tipped on the $120 and $150 rides? $150 taxi?! WOOF. I had seen those prices be quoted online a lot ... I guess we got lucky with mid$70s-$80s or so via rideshare when I was there.
    Great review and information! Was getting a link to pay weird? Was it just like... Paypal...?

    • @AnaheimParkTourist
      @AnaheimParkTourist  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah! It was a bit pricey, but that was for 4 of us. It’s so hard to predict when surge pricing will be going on with rideshare, it was nice to have a set flat rate at least.
      The link for the shuttle was kind of like PayPal. It was a secure link and then I could use Apple Pay and they sent an invoice once paid. It always makes us a bit nervous pre paying for something like that. You always worry they will flake. But thankfully we didn’t have any issues! ☺️ Thank you for watching!

    If the fare is $160 how much is a decent tip? for 3 adult 2 children passenger

    • @AnaheimParkTourist
      @AnaheimParkTourist  ปีที่แล้ว

      We typically stick with the 20% rule. If service is really good, we tip a bit more. If it is poor we tip less. We really enjoyed our driver and his assistant on this trip and we tipped closer to 25%. We generally don't say the amount we tip because it is personal and can be a touchy subject.

    • @AnaheimParkTourist
      @AnaheimParkTourist  ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi,
      We do have a video on our favorite budget hotels, this is based off only the hotels we have stayed at. You can find this here: th-cam.com/video/7yA9RExl9ro/w-d-xo.html
      Typically speaking, the closer you are to Disneyland the more convenient it is and the more expensive it is. Prices of hotels are up quite a bit when compared to the past years.
      Is there a dollar amount you are trying to keep under? Are you willing to take a shuttle or do you want to walk to the park? Do you have older kids or younger kids that are in strollers? This will help give you some recommendations to look at.
      Typically speaking, unless you stay in another city, most budget minded hotels are about a 1 mile walk to the park.

    • @AnaheimParkTourist
      @AnaheimParkTourist  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The pricing is said towards the end of the video, I don’t recall the exact amount. I would call for pricing. This was over a year ago. The cost of gas is around $7 a gallon in the Southern Californian area. I would guess the rate is more expensive right now.
