      It kind of all depends on how good you are at either one. Vinyl wrap is probably way better. But it’s not easy to apply. And plasti dip is much easier to apply, as long as you are decent at painting. But you are just limited to colors with plastidip. Vs vinyl you can almost get any color!

    In your opinion what’s the best option for turbo charging my Corolla? Is it worth it? What are the pros and cons? Also what are all the options for it I know there is a turbo charger, super charger and something else. I just want my car to feel more consistent with accelerating. Would headers help?

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      To be honest, I don’t think turbo charging the corolla is worth it. Unless you really love this car and body style it has. Because for the price you can sell your corolla plus the price of a turbo kit. You would pay probably around 10K-13K with the value of the corolla. And if you look, you could probably find a car with the same HP as the corolla with a turbo for the same price.
      And for supercharging, they don’t make one from what I have seen, there might have been one on a lotus with the 1.8L, but I’m not sure about that.
      And yes headers will help out and help get some low end torque, which should make the acceleration a bit more consistent. And pretty much all the other mods I went over will give it some more power, just not as much as a turbo would. I hope this answers some of your questions.

    • @rodney5269
      @rodney5269 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think the best practical mod would be getting better brakes because decreasing your stopping distance is great for avoiding crashes and accidents as a few inches or feet could mean the difference between life and death or totaling your car or having to deal with getting into an accident. If you really want a torque upgrade for acceleration, only a turbo would give you any meaningful upgrade to your acceleration needs. I say just get a turbo if you really love your corolla, i

    Definitely wouldn't get the solenoids in my opinion. I've accidentally left one unplugged and other than getting a check engine light, there was absolutely 0 difference in driving experience. I don't believe there would be any different with a "performance" solenoid either.

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      They are only for VVTI. Which doesn’t activate until around 4500-5000RPM. So you don’t notice much of a difference when not in VVTI.
      But I have installed these since the video. And there does seem to be a slight increase on the higher end. But it also might be a placebo affect. They only claim about 5HP. So it’s really hard to tell that without an actual dyno.

    Interesting video. I just spent $2k on my "08, & while picking up 25hp & nearly the same torque would be nice it is hard to justify paying what I paid for the entire car, but at the same time having $4k into a Corolla that can rip.....for a Corolla would be fun. Sadly mine is an auto & if it was a manual I would definitely be tempted. I may at least drop a k&N air filter or cold air if it really helps it breath enough to get 5hp.

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Manual transmissions definitely make the driving experience more fun! But I agree! Putting more money into the car than it’s worth is a tough one to swallow some times! But if you like the car and plan to keep it until it blows up, it never hurts to put more money into it, still would be much cheaper than buying a newer car!

    i truly dont see how a vvti solenoids can add more power. it does not increase the range of degree the cam can be turned. and the ecu decides where the cam is based off the cam position sensors so they cant actually "change" anything. so really the only thing they could possibly do is be faster than the oem solenoids which already move faster than the engine could ever rev.

    Hi, the gains that you spoke of with the tune, is that on top of the gains you already got with the previous mods, or is that total hp gained altogether?

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The tune is in total, think of it as it is Guaranteed HP. While the HP that the mods say they are are estimations, so the tune just makes sure you get all the HP out of everything you install.

    • @HAL-dm1eh
      @HAL-dm1eh 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@BrandonStellmach I see. Do you feel you got that out of your mods and tune? I know seat of pants isn't very scientific but it's what ultimately matters isn't it.

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I mean I felt a slight increase in power after every mod I did, and then with the tune I felt a little bit more of a bump, but it wasn’t drastic. But remember I did it 1 mod at a time. How much were your mods and labor in total. Just snagged a 2016. Like new. 75,000 miles. Still have a 2014 altima. like new, 125,000. About to sell it and drop some cash in my corolla.. edit: be warned about the turbo. These cvt transmissions cannot hold up after 220 horses. You will legit destroy your car....

    • @BrandonStellmach
      @BrandonStellmach  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      With all my mods including the wheels and tires. I have spent around 5-6k!
      And luckily for me I have the 5 speed manual. So it should hold up much better then the CVT transmissions!

    You should get the jet performance mass airflow sensor.

      I have thought about it. But haven’t heard anything about how much power or any real benefits.

      @@BrandonStellmach bought one for my 2013 corolla and it gave me a check engine light. I threw it away. Plus underneath that jet sticker is a Denso brand. Snake oil. Just get yourself a throttle control unit. Like pedal commander or sprint booster.

      @@silentgaming1197 well I’m glad I haven’t got one. Because to me I didn’t see any performance gain from this. And no one would tell me anything good about it!

    Skip the solenoids they’re not worth it. Do the cams, same for your Camry.
