You mentioned many of my favorites; Satorl at night, Zanza, Mechonis Field. I would like to throw my support in for two songs I rarely see mentioned. 1. An Obstacle in Our Path. Like the more popular You Will Know Our Names, this song lets you know you're in for a big fight. However, it stays tense the whole time. No moments of hype to get you feeling like you have the upper hand. No. All despair, all the time. And I love it for that. 2. Valak at night. I'm a sucker for snow scape environments. The daytime song is good and all, with its somber dreariness, but my god, does the night theme just feel so melancholic, yet cozy. This game has a way of taking environments that should feel inhospitable (marshland, mechanical factory, snow), and doing something magical with them when night rolls around. You'd expect them to be creepy and haunting, but they just end up being absolutely beautiful. The glowing crystals that light up the fields while that reverberating piano and soft drum play is the peak of atmosphere (no pun intended... noPON intended? I'll stop now...) in my book.
I really appreciate your love for the music of the game. It is the (maybe not so) secret star of the whole franchise. Can't wait to see you react to the other OSTs as well.
Great list. I'm glad you decided to do it after playing the game. Regarding the main theme, it still gives me chills every time I listen to it. It's pretty simple, but there is surprising depth to it. And it has such a bittersweet taste. Regarding colony 9 theme , you're right it's very underappreciated, but it's an iconic peace that you'll recognize anywhere after playing the game. Can't wait to see your (hopefully) inevitable reaction to 2 and 3 soundtrack. The first game's soundtrack is already so good, but they managed to so much better in the next two.
Musics only going to get better from here but yeah xenogears nostalgia is real with some of these tracks 👌👌👌 Colony 9 - My personal favourite area theme in the game and I always associate shulk with it. A really stellar song. Gaur plain (night) - definitely a chill one but I can’t say I explored too much at night and if I did most of it was fighting so deffo not one I heard a bunch Thoughts Enshrined - Literally just Melia being sad is my immediate association and that’s not a bad thing. It’s the same as her, trying to keep up appearances of royalty while also letting it out. Satorl Marsh (night) - Another one I didn’t really hear due to combat but I rlly like the vibe, satorl marsh in general is very good at expressing it’s atmosphere. You will know our names - The funny song woooooo, I cannot think of this song without saying “oh yeah baby, it’s reyn time, oh yeah, leave it to reyn” but also fleeing in terror from big monkeys Tragic Decision - The main part of this song hits so unbelievably hard, it’s soooo good. Fantastic song and plays at the best times. Zanza the Divine - My personal second favourite song from Xenoblade 1, I just like how everything is done. Vocals, percussion, guitar, strings and piano. Memories - I can’t say I’m huge on it but that doesn’t mean it’s not a great piece of music. Certainly a very emotional song. Engage the Enemy - This is THE song for Xenoblade 1, it’s not even super high compared to other songs imo but it’s just so good. You know when this plays something is going to go down. Main theme - I also agree 100%. This is my favourite track from 1 and is a contender for my top 5 from the whole series. It reflects the whole journey, it just makes you feel something indescribable.
Man, all these songs are SO GOOD, so hard to choose... I have thought for years that my favorites are "engage the enemy", one of the night songs on satorl swamp, and the mechonis field. But paying attention to each of these, I don't know, I am changing my mind. Xenoblade music is incredible. By the way... in xenoblade the ost may be even better.
18:56 the way your describing Xenoblade through the main theme. The adventure you are about to have, the drama, the mysteries, loosing to despair, finding hope... But as you played the game you grow to attach with the characters and feel their emotions. And here you are... listening to the main theme again knowing one thing... the Truth. Can't wait to see you play the rest of the titles Saturn. And when you do. I want you to come back to this song again.
Xenoblade series has my faforite music in gaming Xenoblade 2 solidified that for me the music in that game just hit different. 3 had many motifs from the other 2 games and beutifull arrangments and when it comes to battle themes insane variety of bamgers and pops
Great top 10 !! Just, where is Mechanical Ryhthm ? For me its THE best song in the game, the original version of course And its funny because I think Xenoblade 1 is the one in the trilogy who have the less good music in general, but it still my favorite game of all time and have a lot of banger
Hope you enjoy! Please leave a like on the video if you want to support me. Thanks!
12:05 your blade...it did not cut deep enough

Excellent picks. Some of my favorites not listed were Eryth Sea, Mechanical Rhythm, The Fallen Land, Riki's Kindness, and Once We Part Ways.

Fun list!!! While my list would be different for a few, what this just shows is that there are SO many worthy songs of being considered Top 10!

Satorl Marsh night is my favorite theme, the original version of the game is my top 1.
Great video:D
I'd say my favorite one would be prologue b
Prologue B has to be in my honorable mentions.

It easily could have been in my top ten. Should have probably at least included it in honorable mentions now that I look back on it.
