This is so cool that your finally playing, a few tips, try playing around cover a bit more, so that way you take less damage. Try and pick one or 2 characters to learn at first that you really like so that way you aren’t spread too broad in your skills. And if you ever find yourself getting mad at the game, just take a break for the day. At the end of the day, your playing to have fun, and if your not having fun, then you should take a second. There used to be maps of Hanamura and Volskaya Industries, exactly like the ones you saw in the Shuanglong & Sombra video. However, they were removed due to competitive balance issues. It's a pity you didn't get to experience them. The maps were made exactly like in the video, creating a very immersive atmosphere.

I don't understand anything about these games. For me they are too overloaded with mechanics. On the other hand, I have never played Overwatch, although I have heard about it several times. I like Class Shooters more than Hero Shooters, but I hope you have a lot of fun with it!

Here a try to DL:DR the story from before the Crisis till the Recall of Overwatch for everyone who ist interested. I hope it clears some things up and I try keeping it to the basics for the history of Overwatch it self / the war and not to much about the other groups and what Heros are where. (Though it's so much, I'm in doubt it will be short after all.. ^^') Humans developed advanced AI robots called omnics. Companies like Omnica Corp and Volskaya Industries were leading producers of these technologies. However, after a time of peace, these omnics were hacked by one of the god programs-originally designed to help humanity-known as "Anubis," triggering a global war where they attacked humanity; this event became known as the Omnic Crisis. To combat the Omnic Crisis, the United Nations formed Overwatch, a task force of elite soldiers and scientists. The six founders of Overwatch were: - Gabriel Reyes - Reaper (team leader), - Jack Morrison - Soldier 76 (second-in-command), - Ana Amari (third-in-command), - Reinhardt Wilhelm (fourth member), - Torbjörn Lindholm (engineer, fifth member), - Mina Liao (scientist, sixth member) [not playable]. Mina Liao created Aurora, an advanced AI/Omnic that unexpectedly gained sentience during its development. Liao campaigned for Aurora’s legal personhood, which she achieved. However, this drew scrutiny to Omnica Corp, leading to investigations and the company's eventual shutdown due to fraud and mismanagement; this resulted in the abandonment of the corporation and its belongings-although as later discovered the Anubis program restructured those assets to prepare for the Omnic Crisis. Liao and her team later discovered there was one single Omnic not under Anubis's control: Aurora. They planned to transmit Aurora to override Anubis, even if it meant Aurora would have to give her life for it, which she agreed to. This event is referred to as "the Awakening," and the state Aurora ascended to is known by some Omnics as "the Iris"-some Omnics chose peace, while others continued fighting humanity or opposed Anubis. With the help of supportive Omnics, Overwatch and Humans successfully where able to quarantine Anubis, and end the Omnic Crisis, making the world safer for a time. The Golden Age: After the Omnic Crisis, the UN extended Overwatch's charter to support international peacekeeping and reconstruction efforts. During this time, Blackwatch was created. Its existence was kept a secret from the public, but there were always rumors of Overwatch carrying out black ops missions with paid mercenaries and assassins. Known Members of Blackwatch: - Commander Gabriel Reyes aka. Reaper - Jesse McCree (resigned) - Moira O'Deorain (disavowed) - Genji Shimada (resigned) Twenty years after its founding, Overwatch's influence waned as the organization came under suspicion of corruption and sedition. A series of allegations were made against the group. Rumors of black-ops missions, including assassination and kidnapping, were dismissed by the public as paranoid fantasies. But as time passed, criticism became harder to ignore. At the same time, individuals within Blackwatch sought to undermine its parent organization for their own purposes. The Venice Incident: Eight years before the present day, an attack was made on Overwatch's Oslo facilities. Commander Morrison launched an investigation, informing the media that Overwatch had identified several suspects but declined to provide further details. This was followed by an attack on Blackwatch's Rome facility, where numerous staff members were killed. Both attacks were orchestrated by Antonio, a businessman with connections to both Talon and the Italian government. Overwatch commanders Jack Morrison and Gabriel Reyes faced a dilemma on how to respond. Morrison favored working with the Italian government, but Reyes pointed out that Antonio's connections ran deep. After arguing, he left the decision to Reyes. Reyes assembled a team of Blackwatch agents to infiltrate Antonio's manor, but instead of apprehending him, Reyes killed their target. Morrison was outraged and demanded an explanation from Reyes. In his debrief, Reyes insisted that things don’t always go according to plan and stood by his decisions. This incident ultimately led to the revelation of Blackwatch's existence years later, significantly damaging Overwatch's reputation. The Fall: In regards to Overwatch, governments called on the UN to end the "aggressive and repeated violations of many countries' sovereignty." This led a special UN committee to launch a lengthy and secretive investigation, which ultimately resulted in the dismantling of Overwatch and, consequently, Blackwatch. About six years later, Winston initiated the Recall of Overwatch. (...Because all of this is already a long enough wall of text and it's not short at all, I'm now only listing the active organizations after the Recall and providing a very brief description of them. I hope I haven't forgotten anything important.) - Overwatch: Recalled by Winston, they regroup to counter global threats, including Talon and Null Sector. - Talon: A shadowy organization led by Doomfist after his takeover, seeking power through global instability and often employing mercenaries like Widowmaker and Reaper. - Null Sector: A militant Omnic group known for violent attacks, pushing Omnic rights through force. - Vishkar Corporation: A powerful construction and tech company focused on hard light technology, often with questionable ethics (Symmetra works for them). - Helix Security International: A private security company overseeing major installations, including the containment of dangerous threats like the God Program, Anubis.

If you want to dive even deeper, all Xeno games are heavily influenced by Gnosticism, an early Greek interpretation of Christianity. Logos (word), Pneuma (spirit), and Ousia (existence) are essentially Xeno interpretation of a Gnostic version of the Christian trinity but not fully. Like in Christianity Christ is Logos but in Gnosticism they are separate. What's written on Pneuma's chest is "Pneuma" in Greek. Ousia was localized in the English version as Ontos but it says Ousia in Greek on the Trinity Processor. Ousia and Ontos are almost synonyms, though. God in Gnosticism is the Monad, and Monado is how Monad is pronounce in Japanese. Another aspect of Gnosticism is the demiurge, or creator god. This is a god that created the world and controls it but is adversarial to spiritualism and humanity. Gnostic myths deal with the savior (Christ) saving the world from the demiurge. In Xenoblade the demiurge is Klaus, but in 2 since he's repentant Amalthus stands in as representing the old Klaus. Xenoblade 2 is essentially a version of a Gnostic interpretation of Christ's story. Emanations or aspects of the Monad took shape in the universe in male/female pairs called aeons (lesser gods or angels). One such aeon was Sophia (wisdom) who failed to connect with her male counterpart due to fear of existing and became lost. This accidentally created the demiurge, who created the universe to be solely material but Sophia managed to inject a spark of spirituality (pneuma) into it. Christ was sent by the Monad to restore Sophia's knowledge of pneuma so she could help him save humanity from the material universe of the demiurge. Logos' role in Gnosticism is to be the word of god, or enact the Monad's will, but the will of the Monad is unknowable even to Logos which causes problems. In Japanese Elysium is called Rakuen (Eden/Paradise) but it was localized as Elysium (the Greek mythology afterlife) and you got the tree in Elysium and the World Tree representing the tree of the fruit of knowledge and the Aegises (which are called Holy Grails in Japanese because their role is basically like cups that accumulate data) representing the fruit itself. Opheon represents the serpent that convinced Eve to eat the fruit, who in Gnosticism is actually considered a heroic agent of Sophia because he gets humanity to eat the fruit which gives them the knowledge of spirituality and angers the demiurge who wants to control humanity. A lot of it also comes from Takahashi being a big fan of Jungian psychology which was also heavily influenced by Gnosticism.

That means, those who don't have one, like Hanzo, Cassidy (aka Jessie McCree), Ashe, Widowmaker (the spider sniper girl) or Zaria (the pink haired Russian bodybuilder girl) are OG game characters -Second thing is that you missed 2 trailers about a character named Junker Queen

Just watched both of your videos, the 1st and 2nd one and it felt great reliving some of the greatest moments in Overwatch. Definitely would recoomend to watch Junker queen cinematic and all of the Hero origin stories. A pity you don't get to see Symmetra, her abilities are very cool, but of course ill say that, coz she's my main. Anyway, looking forward to seeing more OW stuff from you. Oh, PS - that tattoo from the Reunion that you saw - that is Kerrigan from Starcraft. I can't believe you noticed that, good eye, my friend.

The DLC Torna - The Golden Country possibly has the most perfect ending theme in the world, and serves as the strongest complement to the main story of Xenoblade 2. After completing it, revisiting the main game reveals many new details.

They should really just make a movie or tv show the cinematics have always been the best part of overwatch.

More than just a game, this is also a cinematic journey and the foundations for WoW, from when blizzard was at its peak, truly a gem.

If you do ever consider playing the game, I think that trying out the characters in the game's training range and seeing what they do would be really entertaining. Sometimes people make videos where they just hop into the game and verse other players but it can be very overwhelming and confusing for them, and not always the best content (for my enjoyment anyway). Being able to get familiar with the characters at your own pace would be fun to watch especially since you've got an interest in the characters from all these shorts. This way you'll also be able to pick up on the characterisation of each hero in the game, since this is often overlooked when actually playing a match.

Never forget what they took from us.

I noticed you often thought you had missed some of the character cinematics or story elements. (Like how you didn’t know much about Lucio despite him being one of the first overwatch characters haha) I wanted to let you know that not all the characters were given cinematic trailers and a lot of the story is told through the game, comics or other media, so going by just these cinematics will be a bit confusing! Unfortunately it seems the game won’t be as story focused either, hence why there are less fully animated cinematics for their newer characters, but it was still exciting to see your reactions and I hope maybe one day you can watch a fan made video that summarizes it all or maybe explore the games and other media a little, thank you for sharing your first experience!

This game makes me cry everytime, I'm so invested in the characters and story as a whole. Blades are so interesting, and the group was so cohesive. Definitely my favorite game and story, I remember being such a mess with the post credits scene. Loved the playthrough, and the Xenoblade DLCs are a must, they offer more context, views and complement to the already great story.

McCree/ Cassidy were in Black Watch alongside Moira, Reaper and Genji which was their special ops division. Moira and Reaper left to join what would be Talon. Genji and McCree would stay in Overwatch.

I watched first part few days ago and decided to play few games again. After all toxicity and cruelty in voice and text chat I deleted the whole game. I think I never touch it again unless Blizzard makes some serious upgrades to it. I love overwatch lore and these cinematics are amazing and I like when people admires them like I do, but game itself is dead and the community is more toxic than League of Legend never was. This reaction like the first one was really enjoyable. Thankyou.
