  • AGGRESSIVE COP SHUTDOWN BY CAMERA GUY !! FORT KENT MAINE - First Amendment Audit - Amagansett Press
    U.S. Constitution NOT void where prohibited by law !!
    We believe that many of our rights and civil liberties as American citizens on American soil are at great risk and that a simple act of civil disobedience has the power to effect great change. While we have no interest or intention in breaking any law, we are willing to stand up for freedom and the constitution at any time and at any place and do so in a responsible and productive manner. It is our goal to create free and open discussion whenever possible in an effort to educate both ourselves and anyone with a desire to learn. A well known rule of government is that ignorance is no excuse for the law. It is our stand that we as Americans have been either uninformed or misinformed regarding our laws and rights for far too long. We are not attorneys or scholars, however we have been involved in professional photography for over 30 years and have had our rights and freedoms challenged more times than we can remember. No one group or person has the ability to effect change across the board, however we are committed to doing our part by continuing to stand up for our constitutional right to free press and the right to take photographs and video in public. All donations will be used exclusively to further this cause. We want to thank you in advance for your support of what we do and want you to know that we are committed to working harder than ever to defend our rights, your rights and the Freedom to Film in Public!!

      Your cameras were the thing that most influenced the outcome cause they ensured accountability for the officers. Once you said you were libe streaming, the whole tenor of the discussion changed. And suddenly, officer #1 had humility, etc.

This is exactly why you shouldn't talk to police, _especially_ if you're innocent. You know the "where you coming from tonight?" question during traffic stops? If you answer it, you're suspect number one for anything that might have happened back there. The whole idea that you should respect people's right to privacy when they're in public going into a "dispensary" or even an abortion clinic is nonsense. You have no expectation of privacy in public.

      It's strange, but Jason was previously a better auditor. The cop got out of his car and merely started asking questions - which Jason was under zero obligation to answer. Instead of simply refusing to answer, Jason kinda goes off on the cop. Neither the cop nor the supervisor ever attempted to demand any information. He MUST stop freaking out about people asking him questions. I know that he has good reasons to be defensive, but he needs to resist his compulsions.

    • @interestedparty00
      @interestedparty00 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Also, Jason needs to learn to STFU. He often gives the cops more details than he gives a store owner. THAT justifies the store owner's 911 call because they were able to get Jason to disclose more information by getting the police to engage. How do auditors not understand this?
