Although that's a step up from their current procedural standards even that's a trap. Not so long ago it was law that you could own another human or take your wife in a certain manner without her consent, now it's law that if you don't make your wife happy she can steal everything you've worked for even though she cheats on you... so...if you think the law is a metric of how to interact with others then you're not really a decent person. Decent people don't need a threat or incentive to do the right thing.

Exactly, they were not even going to say a word to AP or WTW until AP spoke first, and even then it was like I guess they called, we will go let them know. Even when leaving it was have a good day, until AP spoke up again.

You and your son expose the violations of the un lawful/unconstitutional activity so graceful and respectful (till others impose) and I can’t stop watching. There’s a broader narrative at play here rather than not wanting to be filmed with people like this. They want to be able to control and oppress people they don’t like. It’s a power grab. It’s a fascinating aspect of human nature.
A LOT of people have fallen prey to the "don't question anything" mantra.... people's lack of critical thinking nowadays has led to the rise of Karens. Many of these people who come out and bark orders are used to people just following whatever directions these goofs give them...which in turn causes them to be perplexed when they encounter someone versed in their rights...and unwilling to just comply.

I think you need a break from the internet. Remember that several thousand bank robberies happen per year. It's in the bank's best interest to try and scare people off. After all, a lot of the money they have isnt their money. :P

As an Aspie, when confronted I sadly enjoy just looking back dumbfounded, shrug my shoulders and carry on, no response. LE is not called but I'm called a mental case!

As a former federal agent, I think that an off duty police officer should not be allowed to wear the police uniform while working a 'side job'. There is the possibility, if not the actual case, of divided loyalty between serving the public and serving his/her part-time employer. The Norfolk area has a lot of 'Karens'. Another excellent job.
I'd prefer cops always have on their uniform as opposed to pretending they are prostitutes, drug sellers, etc.

@@clown134 I agree but I don’t. I agree it’s strange to give people props for doing the bare minimum. At the same time, we should highlight, acknowledge and praise the behavior we want to see. A dog that doesn’t bite people isn’t a particularly good dog. But if 99% of dogs do bite people then I’m willing to give pets to the one that doesn’t. Agree the bar is low, but the standard is set by the average cop.
Most police departments are training officers to ignore these guys now and are training 911 to explain to callers it isn't illegal and ask if it's just the filming they are calling about ... Really need to start educating the callers it isn't illegal rather then going to the police filming

@@DonnieDarko727 - maybe it is a learned response. When I was growing up, people would jump in from of cameras. I believe more of it has to do with the PSYOP being played on the people the last several decades - first covertly, now overtly, building fear and distrust among their neighbours.

This saddens me. When I visited America, I travelled all over taking photos of many wonderful buildings. Not once did it occur to me that someone could claim I couldn't take pictures of any.

The bank manager was laughable...invites you in then is completely full of herself when Jason tried to create some dialogue about what they were doing.
No one forced this cammer to go in. They where just invited to go in. Many store businesses have workers in front of their store telling people in public to come in and take a look. So it was his own choice for going in instead of just staying away. And when the bank lady was not to his liking after meeting with her inside, he should just left without complaining since he was not forced to stay and interact with her. He did it on his own free will.

Why police depts even respond to those calls anymore is beyond me. Tells me we got WAAAYYYYY too many officers on duty if they have time to come out and tell someone it's legal to record in public places. 😂

Good point..Instead of automatically responding to any and all non-emergency complaint they could save a lot of time and money by having a very simple screening process for non-emergency calls. I.e. "do you have a reason to suspect the person of concern is in the commission of a crime?".. if the answer is yes.. " what crime do you suspect them of committing ?". Answer. Derp... Cameras.. uh feelings uh this day and age.. but but...
"Response: this is a perfectly legal activity and a constitutionally protected one at that, put your grown up pants on and call us when there is an actual crime".
Maybe if they didn't waste money responding to calls like this they wouldn't have to "downsize" by refusing to prosecute actual crimes.
But we have hindsight. Those cops don’t know whats actually happening. They could be disguising as photographers n really be filming children. Though from our perspective it sounds ridiculous. But there’s charges filed daily for that exact thing. So they pull up so they can get some context of the call. I don’t at all feel it’s a waste of time.
@@jamesdoakes4956 well ... "Could" doesn't constitute reasonable suspicion of a crime, and it's not illegal to film children in public in this manner. I still think some basic screening questions could help clarify the situation and.potentiall dispell concern before they dispatch cops. It's a huge waste of resources esp at a time when LE is short staffed, overwhelmed and some courts are refraining from prosecuting real crimes.

He's not doing this to give virtual tours. He's doing this in hopes for some conflict, so he can make money off the videos. If no one ever confronted him, then he would stop.
@@jkhoover They literally *are* tourists taking videos and pictures. Whatever their reasons for taking videos and pictures doesn't matter.
I have visited many states, actually all but three, and taken thousands of pictures of businesses, including military installations from outside, and prisons through fences.
I've never once been approached by a guard, an MP, had a cop called on me. I've had a couple of prisoners ask why I was taking the pictures, and I told them, and they respected it. The pictures weren't of them, specifically, nor were they to exploit them.
Sadly most of those were before the advent of digital cameras, and I didn't own a video camera.
If I had it to do now, if I were younger, I'd do it again, with a digital cam, or my cell phone, no regrets.
Jason and Ben record hundreds of hours for a few negative reactions. They meet plenty of positive people along the way, but the negative ones are the people who stand out because they're still so ridiculously unbelievable.
If it were me, and I came across someone acting like that, I'd share it, too.
They're outrageous.
I actually do watch people walking through towns quite a bit as well. It's a legit way of doing videos.

Jason, I am a 78 year old man who has been a street photographer for over 58 years, I can count on the fingers of one hand the times I have been confronted for making a photograph. That said I am always amazed how crazy people have become in Amerika. The police in this video were very professional. Keep up the good work. Cheers, Michael

@@dranderson6071 Perhaps you missed the second part, feeling entitled to escalate. Asking is fine, then making a fuss when you get a no is not fine. 12 year old daughter has nothing to do with it. Recording in public isn't the nuisance or harassment you want to claim it is.
@@dranderson6071 I have Daugter too. I understand your concern but we live in a wonderful country, that gives us freedoms that you wouldn’t have in other countries. Unless that person is harassing us or staking creating an un safe environment. Then by all means alert a police officer but don’t demand something that you wouldn’t want someone to do to you.

I do not believe all in the military would refuse an unconstitutional order. As far as the off duty officers working in there uniforms, it shouldn't be allowed. I believe it is a form of abuse of power. When acting as a guard they don't hold the say authority as when they are on duty. They have a bad habit of acting like like they are still on duty.
I agree Fred cops should not be allowed to wear their uniform doing guard duty. But I don’t think that cop wanted anything to do with Jason and Ben. He wanted to melt into the wall. He just wants to be a statue in the bank and collect money.

@@ultramag0343 only in the minds of arrogant or ignorant sheeple would you believe cops are 24/7. They work shifts and are paid for it. When they are off duty they are free to work other jobs, but they are off duty as an officer. It has been shown and admitted by these same cops when off duty they must have an on duty cop to enforce tickets, arrest, trespassing, and so on.
Major city departments have rules about side gigs. Smaller departments look the other way until something comes up then changes are made.
