@@egodrunk he wasn't his mentor but growing up hope was inspired by jcole and freestyled a lot to his music. Jcole was also one of the first artists hobi listened to so that's why towards the start hobi is doing a handshake with his younger self who is dressed in the same clothes jcole is wearing in the MV (since he was so inspired by jcole growing up). This whole song is a tribute to jcole being hobi's inspiration and as jhope said "his muse," which is why hobi let jcole rap way more out of respect and adoration :) SORRY I TYPED SO MUCH I JUST REALLY CANNOT BELIEVE THIS COLLAB FINALLY HAPPENED

All of Hobi’s collabs with other artists, he unselfishly makes sure the artist have just as much or even more opportunities to display their talent. He’s just that type. By God, I’m going to miss this man for the next 2 years.

Best reaction out there! Few people catching the bars JCole spitting and you got them. JHope’s parting gift to the fans before he goes to the military. A song praising those that helped get him where is now and him giving back. He walks, runs, loves , hopes ( as in being his JHope persona) for us ( us being fans, himself, God, even maybe his muse JCole) and then passing that gift so the next ones can find that happiness and success in life too. and he gives JCole like 32 bars as a sign of appreciation and thanks to his idol. I appreciate how full circle this is. I appreciate that J Cole put himself in this with a _real_ verse and met Hope as an artist - gave him some of what made him J-hope’s inspiration in the style that impacted him most. Going from a cover like Born Singer to a collab like this is the biggest marker of accomplishment I could imagine for an artist. This is something I could have only dreamed about 11 years ago and it’s here

j-hope gave more part to j-cole, even it's his song, to show his respect to him, because j-cole was one of the biggest inspiration when j-hope was young. what a great collboration. i just want to see one more version- focused on his freestyle dancing to jermaine's part. he was dancing underground while j-cole was rapping on the rooftop, and in the end, j-hope comes to meet j-cole at the top. this shows j-hope's journey from the bottom to the worldwide top, from the time when he danced to j-cole's rap even before joining BTS to the day when he can make music with his idol.
even if you aren't a fan of BTS, just seeing how much this song means to people is enough to make your heart soar. Obviously, I'm a huge Army and I absolutely LOVE Hobi, and I'm so damn happy he got to collab with his idol
