Indian minds are STILL colonized. We still want outsiders to come and tell us what we need and what we don't. Investment in infrastructure is one of the best things India can do right now. Especially national highways. Everything - be it fuel, goods, or common things required for trade need mobility and network. India needs highways, India needs dedicated freight corridor, India needs waterways. I would say - investment in infrastructure today would give 20x returns in the next 5 years. It is unbelievable that so many Indians who use highways would give so much importance to an outsider - who believes India does not need development. It is shameful how some Indians have started hating India while hating one leader.

In 1999, then prime minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee laid the foundation stone for the Golden Quadrilateral Highway project.
This Highway connects four major cities: Delhi, Mumbai, Chennai and Kolkata. Project got completed in 2012 in half the budget.
The Golden Quadrilateral project provided a huge boost to manufacturing activity and productivity in districts located within 10km of the network.
The new road infrastructure facilitated the movement of growing young firms out of the congested big cities in search of cheaper land and buildings.
Moderate-density districts-like Surat in Gujarat or Srikakulam in Andhra Pradesh-that border the Golden Quadrilateral highway registered a more than 100% increase in new output and new establishment counts after the Golden Quadrilateral upgrades.
This highway alone has given back 4 times the return through Toll Tax collection and around 10 times through increase in manufacturing output around the region, not stating the increase in GDP of country.
World Bank 🏦 has even written a paper on it.
So we need to make more highway 🛣️ and not listen to Non State Actors sitting in Foreign land.
