Dunki isnt only about Indians. Hundreds of thousands of Afghans, Syrians, Iraqis and Somalis have become illegal immigrants due to the situation their countries. Many die on the way. As an Afghan immigrant in Europe, this movie resonated differently amongst me and my family and other Afghans that saw it. Thank you Rajkumar Hirani and SRK for making such a powerful and heart warming movie about such a serious concept. I urge everyone go watch it at cinemas, for your own pleasure.

The countries you mentioned, they are war affected countries. They can easily get asylum in western countries. For Indian people, it's not easily possible so they either go as students or workers. Remaining who is not qualified, use the illegal ways.

I came across a Pakistani gentleman at a store, he was the manager there. We got talking & exchanged general information like how typical asians do. We met again after a week & this time it was a more free discussion. He told me about an Asian advocate who could help me stay back in the US for 1000 USD. I laughed at him but he went on elaborating further & I got an idea like how deep rooted the industry of illegal immigration was.

So glad this movie was made, the reality of so many of my relatives unfortunately, dying to leave Pakistan to go abroad due to poverty and lack of opportunities.
so many became victims of human trafficking and modern day slavery unfortunately.
There is a Pakistani drama called 'Daldal' that touches on this topic and an old film by Dev anand called 'Des Pardes' that touches on this topic too

Such deep emotions and connection to those that left India for an opportunity to provide for their family. Finally a movie with human emotions and reality of life. Too many directors make fictitious nonsense now. Well done to the Dunki team for not just trying to make VFX film for $$. Instead they made a family film that will touch the hearts of millions AND show how many struggled to send money home for their families.

This movie makes you smile, makes you laugh, makes you emotional, makes you cry, makes you feel patriotic, and eventually makes you realise about homecoming. You left the theater with tears and this is the best film of the year.
Movie had a good message but movie was very goofy ,cringe and overemotional almost saas bahu show and felt like it's made for menchild. If you like these kinda movies you are a clown.
