For everyone asking, I’m sorry, but I don’t sell the pattern. Transferring a physical pattern into a digital, downloadable pattern isn’t in my skill set. Maybe one day I’ll learn!
For now, my best advice to you is to look at patterns at your local sewing store and see if you can riff off some of those. That’s what I did! Just takes a little more intention and planning, but it’s worth it when you wear your finished quilt coat in the end :)

Will you share the pattern you started with? Yours is what I have been looking for however I can not find anything like it.

I swear My Grandma made that quilt.
I had the exact copy with pink lining the 9squares grid.
My grand father even wore a shirt with tiny red cats on it, and the brown moon disk thingys.
My pink quilt was also square, and had alot of the candy cane plaids on it.
Thank you for making my dream appear, a cozy coat made with real memories.

I love the repurposing of a quilt that mean't so much to someone earlier and is given new life to who makes it into a coat! Great job! I am a quilter not a sewer but I so want to try and do this! 🥰

You are so creative and cute. i have an old Potty Barn quilt that is silk on one side and Cotton Velvet on the other. i have been eyeing it for a coat because it is a beautiful spa blue color. thank you for this video you have inspired this 70 year old woman to just do it.

I'm just finding this & love all of your coats! I was so hoping when you cut out the green one you were going to have the half square triangle border at the bottom. You did have it on the sleeves. But it still came out great 🥰🥰 My favorite was the red & blue star quilt!!

Sweet!!!!!!!! This is a great idea!
Oh... I used to have the exposed Brick Walls in my old apartment which had a outside deck on the second floor.
I had major dust problems. After the Roofers created a fire with hot tar, and the water and Chop-Chop of the Firemen, I sealed the brick with Stain to block out the smell of smoke. Dust went bye-bye!

I have been looking for this video for MONTHS! And I have just the quilt to do this with. My first queen size quilt that I made for my hubby and I has damaged fabric pieces on it (ALL the same fabric!). I’m thinking that, bc I don’t like the green backing fabric close to my face, that I’ll add other fabric (probably a Grunge) as facings for the front and cuffs.

I so hope to make one of these before they go out of style! I feel the same way about repurposing old quilts but as a quilter, I may have to make the quilt with this project in mind. Then I could use flannel instead of batting if I wanted to. Just thinking. I would LOVE to see your process of how you make the pattern. I have taken a few drafting classes so I think I can do it but would love to see how you do it.

What makes you assume that? I’ve actually made many quilts! My grandmother was a quilter - she and my mom taught me to sew when I was a child. Quilting was one of my main focuses when I got my textile degree. I understand how much time, care, and attention goes into them firsthand. It’s one of the reasons I appreciate being able to extend the life cycle of old quilts, and cherish whatever I make with them ☺️

    • @all-kinds-studio

Never never cut up old quilts to make clothes. How can you do that. They can be repaired. Do you know how much work was put into quilts. Shame on you.
