I watched your quilt jacket tutorial, after looking for weeks for ideas. I LOVED it. You have a great calming voice and such honesty in your “first time attempt” at something. Thank you so much! I am almost 70, and anyone, any age could watch you and learn.
Jacket looks great. I'm a quilter and a sewist. It's pretty common to be tired of looking at your project after working with it . Hang it in the closet. A week or so. It's cute
You did an amazing challenging job here. It’s a great color combo too. I might try it but I might add denim to neck, pockets and cuffs. You’re enthusiasm is contagious. I’m 66 and have tried several jackets through the years and never got your great results. Thank you!
Next clothing project, try using a French seam. Sew right sides out at 1/4", iron seam open flat (carefully cut batting from seam). Turn garment to wrong side and sew at 3/8" seam. Add sleeves to garments before sewing side seam, so much easier... If you ever have an opportunity to buy a new machine, get one with an "automatic" buttonhole option. When you sew buttons on, put the knot on the outside. Use a small clear button on the inside and put a toothpick btwn outside button and outside of coat. When you finish sewing button, wind thread around under the button and right side of coat, knot the thread 3x.
Very helpful video. Love how it turned out. You did a great job with selecting placement of your pattern pieces. I agree just hide it for a while. I'm the same when I finish a big quilt. Don't want to look at it for quite a while
It's such a cool pattern and the colors stand out which I love! Totally outside of my usual style but after seeing the finished jacket, I'm really diggin it! The sneakers add a great finishing touch to the overall look!
Oh my god! I fell in love with this jacket when I saw the thumbnail, but I would have never thought of using the pepperming magazine pattern! I've seen it before and thought it wasn't what I was looking for, but now I see that it fits 100%!! Thank you for the video!
Thank you for this tutorial. I bought a couple of quilts from eBay with the intention of turning one into a jacket. I've been browsing everywhere for a pattern that won't be too fiddly but I do like the pattern you used, and have downloaded it for my own use. I love the colours in your jacket and the placement of your pattern pieces worked out just perfectly. It's a fantastic job. :)
I’ve been wanting to start sewing and I have a cool old quilt I want to make into a jacket! So glad I found you, and as a teddy fresh fan as well, I’ll definitely be coming back for more thrift flips 😍
Thanks so much for showing every step in detail. I made the same jacket and would have never been able to do correctly attach bias binding without your help. I'm so grateful! 🌷
It would have been easier to sew if you took the batting out of the seams before doing the flat felled seams and I always add the sleeves before sewing the side seams. That way the project is flat until the side seams and arm .seams are one. YOU DID A FANTASTIC JOB. And it looks lovely
You know what, I actually tried that with the first flat felled seam and it definitely was easier but it looked too flat compared to the others. Thank you so much!! ☺️
I loved your video! I love batik prints and have this idea to patch and quilt them and then make a vest. You have inspired me. I think I can do this! Thanks!
Lol I’m watching this about to make this pattern in a patchwork quilted jacket style with a lot of improv so glad I found your video ❤it’s beautiful on you looks snuggly 💙💚
Oooo girl I’m gonna attempt to make this following your vid wish me luck😝 can you give rough measurements of the collar you used? I prefer what you did over the rounded one as well!
Omg best of luck!!!! Honestly just take the existing collar pattern and trace over a collar you like from a jacket or even a button up and it will turn out fine!
Thank you! I am typically a size medium and if I remember correctly I used size C. I was in between sizes based on my measurements so I decided to size up. Definitely recommend!
Hey! I typically wear a size medium. My true measurements were between size C and D so I decided to size up and go with D because I preferred it to be a little oversized and that worked out really well! 😊
Looking at the quilt I was with you where I wasn't sure, but seeing it finished I think it looks great in it's jacket form! 🔥 The diamond pattern near the top is definitely a really cool touch.
Please share how you printed the pattern. I purchased the pattern through the link you provided however when trying to print the full version of the pattern at my local Kinko/FedEx location it does not print properly as it is an 8-1/2 x 11 pdf. I printed the home version no problem but would need to piece it together. . . .not a fan of that process. Thank you in advance for your reply.
Hey I printed at home so I can't really provide any additional info about the full version. Maybe reach out to the pattern creators, they should be able to help!

Hello, Alycia! The jacket turned out very nice! I love what you did with it? I was wondering what size you used from the pattern? It fits you so well.
Thank you! I am typically a size medium and if I remember correctly I used size C. I was in between sizes based on my measurements so I decided to size up. Definitely recommend!
hi! I cant figure out the sizing on the pattern. if you dont mind me asking what size did you make? thank you so much xx love the video!! :)
Hey! I typically wear a size medium. My true measurements were between size C and D so I decided to size up and go with D because I preferred it to be a little oversized and that worked out really well! 😊
@@AlyciaThrifts Thank you so so much!! I'm so excited to make this noww xx
Looking at the quilt I was with you where I wasn't sure, but seeing it finished I think it looks great in it's jacket form! 🔥
The diamond pattern near the top is definitely a really cool touch.
Thank you so much!!!
I added the item to my cart but there is no Cart area on the website?? Weird. Any ideas of how to download this pattern???
The checkout should open automatically after adding to cart!
If the jacket is sewn with this seam, could it be reversible?
Not really because it looks a little different from the inside

@@AlyciaThrifts got it. Thank you!
i'd just bind it
What does “bad sides” mean?
Whichever side is going to be on the inside of your garment!
I LOOOOOVE this!!! Soooooo cuuuuute!!! ❤❤❤
