Oh my goodness your jacket came out beautiful I love how you showed step-by-step how you assembled each piece, and the lining is so perfect thank you so much for sharing your talent with us all it gives me hope in trying to make one myself one day soon❣️🧵🪡✂️💗💓💕💖❤️
I used the same pattern with an old quilt that I bought at an estate sale. I lined it with a pretty peach colored calico. It was a gift for my adult granddaughter. She loves it, and has worn it repeatedly. I really need to make one for me. Your fun video reminded me.
Thank you for your clear instructions. I have had this pattern to use with my own quilt design and was going to use bias binding on the inside seams but i love the lining idea. I will be trying that too.
I really like the jacket. I especially like that it has raglan sleeves. I think I will try to make one for myself. You are very good at explaining things.
I love your jacket. I have bought an old quilt, but haven’t had the courage to start it. You have given me the confidence to start it. Your explanation was great. Thank you!
I literally just found this pattern and bought it. I cannot wait to get started and I know I will be making many of these quilted or not quilted. I just love the style of the coat. I have plans to give to my daughter my two daughter-in-laws and my niece lol. Thanks for a great video.
I made the same coat but I made the large and use it as a house coat. I did cut my sleeve wrong so had to get into my log cabin block to make another sleeve. I quilted my jacket and used up all my left over blocks.
Your jacket is beautiful on you. I have a reversible, quilted, cotton jacket that I bought at Goodwill. It is beautiful; but, it is not warm in cold weather. Yes, there is polyester batting inside. It is alright for cool days; but, it was not made for cold windy weather. I like that New Look jacket/coat pattern you used very much. Thank you for this video. Adding lining should make your jacket warmer. The light colors in your jacket should make it easier to see you after dark when you are walking around outside.
You did a great job on the jacket! What perfect timing for me to come across your blog, as I am piecing together materials to make this very same jacket! However, because I am piecing together my materials, I will be using the lining as the backside of my (quilt). I'm hoping for good results, and that it looks as good as your jacket. I have a long way to go though. I haven't come across many blogs having to start from the very beginning, everyone has managed to find quilts at thrift stores, etc. and are incredibly lucky to find such beautiful quilts! Anyway, I thoroughly enjoyed your blog, and love your results! (It gives me lots of ideas, and excitement for my project!)
@@quiltingwithlori I finished my quilt, but I didn't have the heart to cut it up for the coat. lol. I still plan on making a coat for myself after the holidays, but I think I'll cut out the pieces first, quilt those and put it all together.
Oh I just love this! What a great project and it turned out fantastic! Have you ever repurposed a sweatshirt into a quilted masterpiece? That is something I want to try, by making a cut down the front and using scrappy designs on both sides (and the back). This is definitely on my list to try.
Lori, In the description under the video, the wrong New Look pattern is listed. You state in the video 6585, which is correct, but the description has it listed as 6586.

I made one years ago; I will put that on my to-do list for a video!! Scrappy jacket patterns are fun!!
❤❤❤😊😊
Wonderful job … but I’d say it’s a coat not a jacket since it’s longer than a jacket!! Great looking on you enjoy it …
