    Still rocking my S5 in a cine rig setup as well. As I pull focus manually with Cine and Anamorphic lenses, I can easily resist the PDAF autofocus of the S5 II/IIX. Also while supposedly the same sensor, I've seen a lot of examples that low light and noise patterns have suffered with the new cameras. Also the sensor readout seems to be faster as rolling shutter is better on the OG S5, reducing the excitement of 6K open gate for me. Waiting for the the next L-mount camera that goes further than the S5 II/IIX. Camera to cloud? Have that already with Atomos Connect.

      @@StephenBell_video I was thinking about getting the Tilta Mirage with the VND, if you haven't checked it out you should, from what I saw it's a solid bargain, also about half the price of the Polar Pro.

    That looks like a nice setup, good to see how this rig was made. Interesting to see the use of dummy batteries in both cases. One thing I can recommend as a way of protecting the fragile micro HDMI port connection is the "SmallRig 3021 Slim 4K HDMI Adapter Cable (D To A)". I think this goes some way to reducing the possibility of damage. Also, I used to get some flickering on my monitor when I used a cable directly from the monitor to the port on the camera. With the 3021 adaptor, I don't get that problem any more.

    Hi great video!, I wonder about the ZITAY adapter, does prevent shortcircuit? or just turn red light and fry up gear? or just dont allow power goes on in case you missmatch the polarity?

    Bro i have an important question , so i have full rig for my sony a7s 2 , but just got the s5 , my present vmount d tap output is 14.5 whats a safe voltage for the s5, what the output for your d-tap, i have the Juicebox V-Mount Battery & Rapid Charger, my v mount plate brakes it down to 8 and 9 volts , whats safe , respect

    Just wondering. Wouldn't it be easier to power the camera over USB?

    • @StephenBell_video
      @StephenBell_video  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      USB C doesn’t have the same power ability as v mount, and the cables aren’t as robust

    • @JabDFilms
      @JabDFilms 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Usbc is way better but you have to have the correct connection to give sufficient power it took me a month to figure ghat out now my new vmount plate with usbc runs great and i can always take the camera away from the vmount without a power cycle and continue shooting

    Instead of using the dummy battery inside the S5, I would just put a real battery and use the USB-C port to power/charge. Otherwise, it’s all personal preference and I enjoyed watching you rig up your camera. :)
