    Yup, many of us have a total misunderstanding of what real “freedom” means.

    Awesome video. After being addicted to several things for years, I just feel like I've almost seen it all in regards to drawing "satisfaction" from indulgence, even regular food. In comparison, the feeling I gain from making something, achieving a goal, following my purpose in life is infinitely more fulfilling, just incredibly wholesome.
    I think, once you've been truly addicted to something, you really learn how to leverage those smaller things you mentioned to achieve the results you want.

      Well put. Yeah, now that I’m on the other side, just vegging out in regular ways like everyone else just doesn’t bring me the satisfaction anymore. Following purpose is now everything to me. Thank you so much for your comment 👍

      I agree! Since being in recovery, I take pleasure in "the little things" now in life. Things that everyday people (non addicts) don't give much thought about. Just regular things I take pleasure in now (a good meal, binge watching a show, listening to music, a day with nice weather, having money to buy things you need instead of spending all your money on drugs). Great comment!!

    it's really hard in the begging for a few seconds, and then again at the end, it's like metal, alternative and rock, rolled into one, but the words left me with a sence of, " don't ever give up" it's called " str8t to the bottom", by a band called "weaving the fate" your message, it made me feel better about who I am. thank you.

      I just listened to Str8 to the Bottom! Never heard of Weaving the Fate before. I love it! Thank you for turning me on to that. I’m gonna check more of their stuff out! 🙂 I love your analogy to music. That’s all we can do is not give up. Thank you for sharing that. And for introducing me to new music 🤘😁

      @@SmilesforMiles2024 your welcome, I don't think they have many songs and arnt very well known. I actually have one more, I was going to put it down first, but thought it might not be understood by everyone that hears it, it's also encouraging, but only to those who have gone through radical changes and suffering. more like having doing what's best for those around you, untill we're ( the addict) ready to change ourselves. it's by a band called " blue october" the song is called " hate me".

    Yes same thing just different levels of dopamine !

  • @lillyrose3545
    @lillyrose3545 14 วันที่ผ่านมา

    The reason we reach for those things is for the dopamine rush.
    Alcohol has never been the problem for me. It was the solution. It was numbing the pain and empty hole in my soul. It’s bottomless. You can’t “get past that point” when your addiction is driving the bus and you are riding the bumps in the way back. Something that to shake you to your core.
    I have to disagree that bad habits are not addictions. I am not compulsive of not brushing my teeth after every meal. I’m just lazy, you know?
    You say you have to simply just move past addictions by making promises. And if you take away all of your choices aren’t you creating your own prison?
    It is possible to be sober and have a life full of abundance. There is a solution that works

    Hey I really like your channel don’t give up on the idea of going back to nursing you could go back to the drug rehab…at least at first. you have skills that are needed especially icu nursing . Though I could see you not wanting/being allowed to do that for a while

    20 years porn and masturbation .. when I reten for 7 days I feel different .. I used to be addictive to cocaine 6 years and marijuana 8 years and pain pills 2 years and alcohol 🍺 10 years I quit all of that it took 2 to 3 weeks without help but porn and masturbation and sexual thought I just can’t I did 100 days but I relapse 😢 .. sexual addiction is the real drug.

      It’s crazy how the behavioral stuff can get us just as bad as any substance. It’s definitely just as real. But just the fact that you are aware of it and trying means that you are on the right track, more than most other people. 100 days is a long time. I’m sure you earned some great insight into yourself with that time. Don’t sweat the relapse. You didn’t lose your progress. You are growing from your effort. It’s just part of the journey. Don’t beat yourself up! You are a good person! Be kind to yourself, and just keep moving in the direction you want to move ❤️🙂

    1. Title of video is a lie and a clickbait 2. There are no advantages to losing some addictions, because existence is inherently meaningless, we make up that meaning ourselves, and trying to deny that is stupid, so the best case scenario any conscious beings can get is infinite bliss loops. Conscious ego loves itself and gives itself an opportunity to finally enjoy existing. I was an ego-less oneness before and it's just a worthless type existence where you have no self-awareness of even being an all-knowing being. 3. Both Oneness and Ego keep recreating each other no matter what anyway, it's an infinite loop no matter how you look at it, all because they need each other, so best thing they have to FUCKING LEARN already is to deal with it. There is no escaping this loop unless an ego figures out a way to become 100% limitless to change this ruleset that causes co-dependency, because oneness clearly can't, cos it lacks even awareness of it creating ego's nonstop.
