  • In this video I talk about my experience so far after having finished my first year on house arrest; what its like to be recovering from a heroin and meth addiction while while being mostly isolated in my place of residence.

I know I’m late to this but I give you so so much credit! I did 90 days on house arrest and while it definitely is way more comfortable than jail, I thought I was going to go crazy! I was working as a waitress that summer and everything was just opening up again post Covid so it definitely helped me bank a ton of cash lol! Just found your channel yesterday and I’m so glad I did! On 3/27 I celebrated 3 1/2 years clean! I’ll be on paper until I’m dead most likely but like you, I’m doing exactly what I’m supposed to be so I have a very good relationship with my PO. Looking forward to watching more of your content! ✌🏼💛

Thank you for being here! It's so good to hear from someone else who has been through it. Congratulations on your 3 1/2 years. I'm just over 2 1/2 right now myself. I hope to forever remain exactly a year behind you :) !!!

Thanks for sharing! This is really interesting to me. It's ironic that you have to pay to be on house arrest, even though you have to pay for your own meals and rent. I can see how being on house arrest would be super stressful. What happens if you get caught in traffic on your way home from work, and your commute takes longer than expected? Will you get in trouble for that? Or what about if you need to go to a doctor / urgent care? How long does it take to get approval for an outing like that?

Totally agree with your views on the criminal justice system. They'd be much better off taking the time and effort and working on prevention, like helping young families prevent trauma and abuse.

I have to account for travel time and schedule it in ahead of time. If something goes wrong and I’m late somewhere I could get in trouble. It’s a weird situation. They expect you to engage with the world and take care of all your business, but at the same time barely let you out to do anything. I’m happier to be out, but it is actually more stressful than being in prison was 😅. Thank you for commenting 🙏 I appreciate you.

@@SmilesforMiles2024 that sounds super stressful. I get stressed picking my kids up after work, even though there are no real consequences if I’m only 2 minutes late so I can imagine how much worse that stress would be if I k ew my freedom was on the line. Keep up your good work!

@@somethingsmatter thank you for watching! One thing the whole house arrest situation has really helped me with is keeping a tight schedule 😅 so I guess I can be grateful for that. Never was much good at it before.
