There is an insane amount of violence in the Dune story, its why Paul has issues; While the books don't go into in it detail they could easily throw in parts of the conflict.
The next one needs to follow the book pattern and be called Dune Messiah. Here's the irony, though: the "second book" exists because the author had to split his planned novel in two. So in a way, Dune Messiah really *IS* the third part of the same story. But yes, the movie should absolutely follow the pattern of the book.
I don’t understand the metadata comment. My vote is for Dune: Messiah (Dune Pt. 3). I’m excited to see what Denis does next. Hope Anya Taylor Joy gets added to the cast.
clones with transferred memories played a MAJOR role in the Foundation series on Apple+, with their primary monarch living a millennia by cloning through three cycles: Dawn, Day & Dusk
So, Dune Part 1 and Dune Part 2 were named that way because the first book (Dune) was broken into two parts and made into two movies. Since the next movie will be the adaptation of the next book in the series (Dune Messiah) it should not be given the name Dune Part 3 because it is not part of the first book. Since it is a completely different book it should be given it's own name. In other words it should be called Dune Messiah and not Dune Part 3.
Tbh I think they should show the holy war, blend it in with Dune Messiah, you can’t go from war film to political thriller, it will take all the wind out of the sails, the war needs to be raging in the third movie. Also just call it part 3.
When you were talking about Alia and then immediately said, "will he do a House of the Dragon", I was thinking something very different until you said "cast different actors" (if you've read Messiah, you know what I mean). In my country "Messiah" is the forth book... The way they published it here was: "Dune: Arrakis", "Dune: Muad Dib", "Dune: Prophet" and than "Dune: Messiah".
The action could solved by showing one or two scenes of Paul dominating worlds with his army because he has a vision that he should be there in person and learn something there. We could have a look to a new world while the other stuff happens in Arrakis with Chani and Irulan.
I would like it to be called Dune: Part 3. Just for simplicity and clarity. Two parts per book, IF THEY ARE going that route. I actually enjoy the time change and changes in general to Dune versus the books! Just for the flow for the film.
Villeneuve just confirmed that Dune Messiah will not be his next film, had WB just let him make these movies back-to-back like he originally wanted Dune Part 2 would've come out 2 years ago and Dune Messiah would probably be coming out this year, now we have to wait until as late as 2029
The book "Dune" is a compilation of "Dune World" and "The Prophet of Dune", and "Dune Messiah" is only about ¼ the length of "Dune" and provides the most solid ending (of several; it gets weirder and weirder) to Paul's story, so the trilogy that Villeneuve decided on makes the most sense.
I’ve never read the books… just going to put that out there before my next statement. Dune 1 was impossible to follow, had no action, and had little story; it was just a lot of backstory. Dune 2 made Dune 1 worthwhile and better because Dune 2 was so good at making a payoff from the first movie. Not only did it give me reason to watch Dune 3, but it took me for such a loop of how good this story could be and how wild the story gets. Dune 3 has to meet and exceed expectations, and only way you can do that is by having an amazing story and amazing action. If the second book doesn’t have a lot of action, they’re going to have to force it in the movie, which means they might have to make up some new story, and this will make the book lovers upset.
If the Fast and Furious naming convention isn't too confusing for people, calling it Dune: Messiah will be fine. It'd be more confusing calling it anything else.

He didn't take away any jobs. He made a silly comment. Disney took away those jobs.
I think the lack of action won't be a problem for Denis, because he added a bunch of original fight scenes to Dune 2 anyway.
ANYA TAYLOR JOY KILLIN IT WITH THAT DRESS!
I don’t understand the metadata comment. My vote is for Dune: Messiah (Dune Pt. 3). I’m excited to see what Denis does next. Hope Anya Taylor Joy gets added to the cast.
Thank u for doing this video!!!!!!
clones with transferred memories played a MAJOR role in the Foundation series on Apple+, with their primary monarch living a millennia by cloning through three cycles: Dawn, Day & Dusk
I do love me a bit of Momoa.
Warner Bros has to maneuver the calm before the storm. Messiah has to be integrated with the Sisters HBO show
Doug Jones in practical costume for the guildsmen role!
ANYA LOOKS BEAUTIFUL IN THAT DRESS!
CAN'T WAIT FOR PART 3!
I didn’t know that my theater had updated their seats to 4d and I was pleasantly surprised to watch this masterpiece that way!
No action means a cheaper movie, means it doesn't have to be a blockbuster to succeed and bring in cash.
Did the Tleilexu Face Dancers inspire the creation of Mystique in The X-Men cannon? I do wonder.
Maybe, but shape-shifters are a common element in many mythologies. Fantasy and science-fiction have been using them for a long time.
Tbh I think they should show the holy war, blend it in with Dune Messiah, you can’t go from war film to political thriller, it will take all the wind out of the sails, the war needs to be raging in the third movie. Also just call it part 3.
Hey grace, so early
Just watched dune 2 and LOVED IT
Part Three would be a more fitting title
When you were talking about Alia and then immediately said, "will he do a House of the Dragon", I was thinking something very different until you said "cast different actors" (if you've read Messiah, you know what I mean). Honestly, that one scene with Anya Taylor Joy did give me slight Targaryen vibes, and as I said, if you've read Messiah it's not unthinkable...
Grace, everyone is influenced by Dune. Everyone has stolen from it.
Dune in turn borrowed much from the religions of the ancient Mideast...
@@evertonporter7887Dune used concepts from many religions, because it tells the story of humanity 24000 years in the future. Earth's history, cultures and religions are part of the ancient history of Dune's universe. This is not like Star Wars, wich takes place a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away.
In my country "Messiah" is the forth book... The way they published it here was: "Dune: Arrakis", "Dune: Muad Dib", "Dune: Prophet" and than "Dune: Messiah".
Fun Fact: Star Wars was not only 100% influenced by Dune but the Foundation series as well.
Dune Part Three: Messiah
No way they swap the actors out…can’t do that. 12 years isn’t a back breaking long time. They can make that work.
Super hype for Dune 3.
James Cameron got Avatar first, that's why the showrunners of ATLA had to name the show that, instead of their original wish of "Avatar"
Dune Messiah will be insane. Anya Taylor Joy is about to become absolute iconic.
Naming the 3rd movie really isn't that complicated.
Dune Part 1. Dune Part 2. Dune Messiah... see? Not that difficult
There is plenty from Dune Part 2 that you can bring forward to a action combat Dune Messiah. (See Chani riding into the desert.)
I really hope they don't recast ...
I think to add some action they can take some time focusing on the Holly War and then proceed with the other stuff in Dune Messiah.
The action could solved by showing one or two scenes of Paul dominating worlds with his army because he has a vision that he should be there in person and learn something there.
We could have a look to a new world while the other stuff happens in Arrakis with Chani and Irulan.
Flash back action NEVER works in films. Name a film that they use flash back action that’s huge haha. They all disappoint
I would like it to be called Dune: Part 3. Just for simplicity and clarity. Two parts per book, IF THEY ARE going that route. I actually enjoy the time change and changes in general to Dune versus the books! Just for the flow for the film.
CAN'T WAIT TO SEE ANYA TAYLOR JOY IN THE NEXT MOVIE!
Villeneuve just confirmed that Dune Messiah will not be his next film, had WB just let him make these movies back-to-back like he originally wanted Dune Part 2 would've come out 2 years ago and Dune Messiah would probably be coming out this year, now we have to wait until as late as 2029
😥
Yeah but if Part 2 does really well like it’s projected to, I could see Legendary pushing Villeneuve to make another one right away.
6:49 you could say cloning is in their DNA😜
The first Dune book should have been split into 3 films; then, it'll be a perfect trilogy!
In Dune, the spice slows aging. So Paul & Chani, in the proper conditions, would look young for a long time.
If the Fast and Furious naming convention isn't too confusing for people, calling it Dune: Messiah will be fine. It'd be more confusing calling it anything else.
Funny to try and “explain” something you’ve only read cliff notes for
