This Mortal Online 2 Gameplay Walkthrough includes a Review and First Impressions for Steam PC. Mortal Online is not like other MMORPG games. In Mortal Online any player can at any point attack another player and take everything they own. This makes every encounter with another player a dangerous affair that could result in great loss. It also greatly increase the importance of having strong allies by your side or a powerful guild to back you up.

Skills
Mortal Online 2 features a massive list of 600+ skills to learn.Most of these skills are learned and leveled up by simply using them in the game and the player can spend points in any skills he/she wishes to learn creating a complex web of possible combinations.
Combat
Mortal Online 2 features an action-based first person combat system. There is no tab-targeting or auto attacks. In Mortal Online 2 the player’s skill really matters and a skilled player will often defeat a player with better equipment.All the combat in Mortal Online 2 works this way regardless if your are wielding a bow, sword or use your mind to cast powerful spells.
Crafting
Almost all of the equipment in Mortal Online 2 is created by players and then sold to other players. Our celebrated crafting-system gives all the power to the crafter who can decide every part in whatever he/she is crafting creating a mind blowing amount of possible combinations. This way crafters can be known worldwide for their secret and powerful equipment.
World
Mortal Online 2 is set in the great world Nave. The first continent players will enter is called Myrland and is a boiling pot of different biomes ranging from cold snowy mountains to big open sand fields. Myrland is massive in size and filled incredible resources to find and dangerous dungeons to explore. All rendered is stunning detail using Unreal Engine 4.

High age is only important for Ogmir fatmages. They are slow but heal and hit for insane damage with magic.

Closed Beta is not what it sounds like. I pre-bought the game on their website yesterday for USD39 and got a Steam key immediately for permanent access. You can do that at any time. Starting an hour from now you can play for free this weekend and then decide if you want to buy it. Personally I love what they're doing so much I wanted to support them.

Thank you for reviewing this masterpiece of a game. I've played just about every single MMORPG under the sun and discovered Mortal Online 1 back in 2012. MO1 was an insanely difficult game that was incredibly frustrating to learn at first between the full loot PvP, griefing and bugs. However, I saw it through and made it a point to learn the game. From a gaming perspective, learning the entirety of MO1 was the best decision I've ever made.
Over the course of 10 years, I've dropped nearly 10,000 hours in the first title and have experienced moments that no other game has been able to achieve since. There's a powerful sense of exploration, mystery, danger and community that comes with the game. Never before have I seen a world where your actual accomplishments are talked about for years to come. You literally forge a reputation for yourself within the game. Whether you're a warrior, crafter, alchemist, tamer etc. (so many more things here) if you're knowledgeable enough and are truly skilled at whatever it is you choose to do, you seriously become a legend in the world.
I've been testing Mortal Online 2 since May, 2020 and have already sunk 1,400 hours into it. 1,400 hours is more than I've put into every other game I've ever touched combined since MO1 and the game isn't even in a playable, persistent state yet. The ability to log in each day and ask yourself, "what do I want to do today?" and just have a blast making your own goals, interacting with players in town, getting into political drama is something that I've been unable to achieve anywhere else especially in modern MMORPGs. There will never be a to-do list or grind that you have to achieve outside of what actually interests you.
MO2 is already far more advanced than MO1. The devs have more support, more experience, the visuals are incredible, the technology actually supports their mountain of a vision. After watching the progress of this game up close for nearly a year now and comparing it to 10,000 hours in MO1, I can honestly say I believe in this team's capabilities and 100% recommend supporting them. 15 years of making barely any money and supporting a game on life support all due to passion and love for the game. They work 24/7 and don't mind doing it purely out of love for their project. You'll run into the CEO himself in game where he will jump right in and play with you while even answering questions in the game's VOIP system.
If you love MMORPG's, don't mind full loot, a fairly steep learning curve and have a desire for the genre to return to its' creative and innovative roots where possibilities are endless, THEN SUPPORT THIS GAME!!! I actually own the physical steel case edition of MO1. Lets just say that playing MO1 at launch was the moment that taught me never to get overly invested in a game before it actually releases and never pre order.

MO1 was the best game i ever played. The only issue that game had was the outdated system they were using. That game came out about 10 years ago so the engine they use was pretty old. They cant move the previous game into the new engine since they use new codes or BETTER codes so they had to remake it from scratch. I got a few videos on my channel where i pvp against other players back in MO1. My recording isnt good so the graphic is set to shittiest option.

if history repeats itself mortal online one had corrupted GM's who banned for no reason and deleted your forum threads if you tried to talk about that or did ticket to support about that. expect bugs that never get fixed or by the time they are fixed there is few more bugs that replaced it. expect devs lying about how soon some features are coming like new world area they told to be released summer at the time and told it needs just tiny finishing anymore and then you wait and no word and they ban if you ask and remove your forum thread if you ask about when its coming and no answers and 3 years goes by and finally the damn desert world area was released. Expect server lag too. expect exploiters and hackers. have fun and enjoy. i will wait at least 1-5 years before i consider Mortal online 2 because of the treatment they gave with the first one. also important resources are badly placed in the world map in first one so that one guild has the best materials if they can hold one place north east of the map.
Ya too bad all this game has is looks. It looks like Skyrim but has 1/10th the actual gameplay. So if you're just looking for a landscape sim with basically nothing to actually do in the game then this is for you!

@@Razzlion no i bought a nvidia gtx 1650 4gb. ik it isn't the best but its my first gamepc and i can always upgrade later. At first i ordered a 8gb but it was broken so had to be send back, cancelled that order bc i was going to buy it at another bussines, but a few days later the prices rocketed so i decided to wait, (which i obviously shouldn't have done)and now i decided that the prices won't go down so i order it now and will upgrade later.
The original was quite hyped but it released as a mess and became famous for spawn killers at the starting zones who used new players to farm skills. The developers themselves also took part in this, and often were caught using god mode and other dev modes to grief their own players. Not to mention having the largest sub fee for a long time and harsh penalties on death.
Edit: I still remember making a character entirely focused on magic. Then you start, and find out you'll be 10 hours deep before getting the materials to cast magic, and you are too weak to even hold the woodaxe that was intended for the starting weapon. Essentially leaving you unable to do anything but punch things for hours and hope people help you instead of gank you.
Yeah, a lot of people have fond memories and good experiences with the game and forget all the questionable stuff that went on.
I liked the concepts. I stopped playing because of game instability, constant griefing whenever you leave town, getting your pockets picked, all the tameable animals are "previously claimed", exploration is extremely difficult due to the kinda cool monster evolution system but all the basic monsters are lvl 75 and overpowered because no one culls them. Good ideas, but hot damn.

Looks amazing. The level of customization and how you want to go about tackling this epic game has me intrigued! I will be downloading on the 25th.
I wish someone would get a group of friends together in a game like this and make a show of sorts where each person's perspective tells their side of the story with everyone taking different paths leading to some sort of climactic event like a war/ legendary battle or what ever direction they would want the story to end with. I know that's kinda nerdy but I would love to see something like that happen were basically a group of players is given a world with limitless possibilities and they create a in game story that only they could come up with without any predetermined story from a developer.
It already happen on Mortal Online 1.... we have great memory and story about our victory and lost. Its the kind of game you never forget about the story that WE made player.
Also almost everyone know each other... we all have a reputation and like to show our SKILL on the battlefield. When your group cross another group and examined each other names... and they see your name.... they get scared because your reputation is on the TOP. You have to be the best in every fight, you always have to surpass yourself to proof everybody that you worth your reputation.
Its the kind of game... that you start shaking of adrenaline before a fight... that what I miss of Mortal.
So much great memory...you have no idee.

There should be opening quests that teach the player beginner info on a lot of the content systems would probably be cool if it was incorporated into the story.
The open-world areas look beautiful but feel empty. I think it needs a lot more points of interest eg. Ruins, bandit camps, animal warrens, merchant camps, mythical creatures/magical attractions; basically, things that make the place feel alive around the beauty.
The combat animation needs polish which is expected, and the Ai's functionality is probably the most important aspect in any game.
An emotional and meaningful story to keep peoples commitment to travelling about and side quests that fit the area they are located in and feel meaningful not pointless.
Lastly Lore to the areas and towns be that inscriptions on items like Armour and weapons or stories in books etc.
You’re not getting the core of the game it’s not really meant to be played the way you’re describing it’s like a D&D experience

I'm so glad you found MO2. I played MO years ago and it was the most fun I have had in any mmo. I'm not into PvP but there is so many skills to learn you can just be a crafter and support your guildies that do fight. I was an Animal Tamer. I provided the mounts for my guild. I was so excited to see MO was getting an update. When Mounts and Taming are in I really want to join the Beta. The only combat I could help test would be magic. I'm no good at melee.
Same here, I'm not a super hardcore type of MMO player but MO offered so many unique interactions with players. Seeing all the plebs trying to do pilfering was hilarious, getting lost in the world due to the lack of ingame map, and being terrified at night due to limited visibility. I remember one time a player tricked me into attacking him so he could loot my gear without consequence. Said he wanted to "test durability" on an item, and I being dumb hit him and he killed me lol.
magic is already in, taming and 1 type of horse are in, just cant mount them yet, but by the time stress test launches u will be able to ^_^

I’m not saying the game is bad, but when you get impressed by a castle far away or a bandit standing in the middle of nowhere that’s not a very objective review
The environment looks awesome, the plant species in the different habitats is actually very accurate! Never seen that before!
If your a mineralogist irl, then you would Really see the detail they put into mining and combining certain rocks to create other.. Calx as an example is a super soft rock.. just like Limestone.. and just like limestone it is only found around water. Herbs and cooking or potion making has the same effects.. you can actually experiment with different mixtures and get different results... don't get me started on husbandry.. aka breeding of horses and other tameables. breed one with these stats, and one with those to combine them and make super horses..(a bit over the top but you get my point)

Even teh physics of the bow and the mutiple shots required on the wild boar and fatal range of the bow in regards to the final kill shot! Im very impressed, cant wait to play it!

You struggled with the Bandit and then find a Veteran Bandit like *flexes*. And the way he peeks over the mountain with like 23 arrows sticking out of him, you shoot him in the face and he just says “Uuuh, OOF!” and keeps coming after you is such gold. Haha
I agree i just found out about it from a mention in Josh Strife Hayes' videos: In fact i am pursuing a charge back with my bank for New World, as it has progress stopping bugs and the pvp is not a tri-faction battle for a town, it is an exclusive, instanced 2-faction (50v.50) battleground and 'company' leaders decide who participates in that war, keeping in mind most companies have up to 100 members (so the solo player or the smaller companies may never be able to experience a key aspect of the game 'WAR'). Anyhow i am sending links to this game to all my pvp friends and will follow closely and probably purchase the early access. Thanks for the video.
The game is what new world should of be. While it lacks in polish it makes up for in scale and depth. Its an amazing game!

I can still remember playing OG Mortal Online, when 5 highlvl players tried to attack Meduli city, we took all the eq we had in bank and gave it to naked noobs, formed about 30-40ppl and just destroyed them with the mass of ppl! Grates moment in my gaming life :D

Yeah, I'll be honest, this is the first I ever heard of this game. It looks like a lot of fun, and I wish that it was being talked about more so I would have known about it before.
I can't wait for this! It looks absolutely stunning! I think the thing which will make it or break it for me is the magic system. I love playing mages so I really hope that mage battles can be a stunning to watch as in Black Desert Online. Looking forward to being able to try it out in the stress test!

The lead dev was inspired by Ultima Online and Starwars Galaxy for both the first game and MO2. Personally preferred the first game's combat and scuffed movement speed but it is what it is.
They added a tutorial island in 2019, but it was too late and a couple veterans abused combat pets at the farming spot to attack new players.
I had 2k+ hours on the first game and hope Mo2 will do well.

The world looks great, but the character appearances themselves look a bit stale. It's the one thing that didn't impress me very much. A much better character creator with much more appearance customization and better looking models would do wonders for this game.
Learned about this game when a friend of mine told me stories they experience from the original. Gives me hope this game will turn out well.

@@lyra9597 Kcd is super realistic - you get shot in the chest while unarmored by a bow - you're dead. That kinda thing would not work in a mmorpg
True, features of kcd only work there because the game was designed with such intentions from the start. Not to mention that mmo games require an ultimate different set of features, even combat.

This looks like what I hoped and thought ESO would have been 😏 I remember my sadness during playing the ESO beta and it was not this!
This looks right up the medieval alley I’ve been wanting! This and Hood should be pretty fun!
I’m confident that if they smooth out the combat (add weight to attacks and defense when getting hit) and prioritize that the game runs smooth as it is this will be an amazing game you could sink hundreds of hours into

I've been theory crafting a hypothetical game that would have in-depth weapons system where you would have parts, blueprints and modifications that affect its power, speed and moveset. So a sword with a hook end, saw back and straight edge would come with basic sword moveset and have different finishers(hook to pull) (saw to grind) I'm not into the game design business but i'd love to work with people on designing something like this but more intricate.
Please add legendary beasts that you can tame like griffins and massive sea creatures you can ride to the other islands. If possible It’d be cool to participate in massive city sieges or saving towns from bandits that give you discounts in that town (e.g cheaper items or weapons/armours after saving the towns)

That's super awesome! I remember that I played the first one just because it was in first person and similar to Oblivion, but I am a fan of story based games and for that reason the majority of the MMOs does not have a good story, I hope this one also has some meaning and campaign like TES Online. Mortal 1 was a great foundation to work from, it was called affectionately Potential; the game. If they take that and this mortal 2 and flesh things out more hopefully it can take off. The devs just have to make sure to manage it properly and not fall into the MMO subscription/ pay to win traps. looking forward to seeing what happens

Dude this game looks amazing. It’s like single player adventure and mmo at their best combined into one Skyrim looking rpg. Would love to see more gameplay of this
The combat is not so easy as it looks. It need hours of practice. If you not perform so well with the sword, you can use a bow, be a Mage/ Tamer, Mage Dominator, Mounted Archer, Mounted Combat guy. You are not forced to be a melee fighter.
I think you should be able to retrieve your arrows if they don't get broken (so not every arrow you shoot, but at least a percentage of them).
Another thing that I would love to see added (if not an option already) is tattoos!

I was waiting to hear about this. No 3rd person in this one? I have to say that's disappointing. They really should just make it optional to play either way so people can play it the way they prefer. Otherwise, I'm always eager for a new, interesting MMO

I like it, I think it will make it way easier to actually roleplay, seeing my character in 3rd person makes me act as if I'm just controlling a puppet.

@@AnonGZ understandable. I guess it would depend on if you want to role play as if you ARE the character or, as I often enjoy while playing a 3rd person RPG, guiding a character through an adventure while not actually trying to BE that character if that makes sense.
But these two concepts are exactly why they should just make it optional imo

I really like how this looks. I wonder if they plan to add body part specific damage similar to "Kenshi". Able to cripple and disable certain parts.
@mortal online I love the idea of this game. I have tried many mmorpgs and always found that they lack a certain immersion. Which, this game seems to fix. My only suggestions, if you are looking for any, is the possibility of a sneak system and a sense of purpose to play the game. I understand the game is not finished and so much of what may come out in the final product was not displayed. That being said, a lot of people love sneak systems, so for the mass appeal alone is it usually worth it to add it. Sneaking doesn't necessarily have to come out at the launch. If sneaking came out as an update, people would go crazy for it and the game would have a "revival" of sorts. As for the sense of purpose, I am unsure of the direction this game is heading, if it is a survival game or a Exploration game. While it can be both, it is usually beneficial to provide a heavier emphasis on one due to the ease on the developer as well as the consumers perspective. Most people guy games expecting something, and when what they get is different from what they imagined, you are more likely to get a negative reaction. Games that fall between two put a lot of strain on the developer as well, because sometimes finding the correct standing between these two purposes can be tricky and you could lose players in the process. Overall, I think the game looks amazing, seems fun to play, has a great sense of immersion, and has the ability to maintain sufficient updates in the future but, with the information provided this far, a focus should be considered on a certain direction and intended gameplay experience.
Looks really nice! However it feels really bad to see so many of the Unreal Marketplace assets. (since I'm using the same assets in my game as well) :(
