This was a god send and made me want to try out wabbajack. I've been modding for years in a pretty hardcore level, but this time I just didn't want to go jump through all the hoops yet again and end up breaking my modlist yet again. The fact that the FUS list is all setup in MO with instruction and what is actually going on with the mod list made me want to use it as a starting point for my next build.
Something VERY IMPORTANT - when you install Mod Organizer, it takes control of your SkyrimVR save games. They are no longer backed up on Steam, or in Documents/mygames - Mod Organizer keeps them stored internally. This means that if you break the game with mods and delete/rebuild, when you delete the mod organizer folder it deletes all your savegames. There is an option in Mod Organizer that will copy the internally stored savegames to the normal savegame location on your hard drive, and once they are copied over steam will now back them up to the cloud.

At the end when you mentioned how some people spend more time installing and testing mods than they do playing... lol... All I can say it's THAT'S ME! In years past I definitely let the FOMO get to me. My best modded experience ever was 106 on Oblivion and even that was kinda overkill. Happy New Year🎉
@@akaricodane401 Been modding for almost 10 years now. But hey I'm sure you know more since you're on the same guide video as I am. You're tweaking if you need that many mods to enjoy the game lol. I took over 100 out of FUS day one. All these modpacks are outdated as of 3 weeks ago anyways.
So, just for people like me who might of buggered it and wondered why it keeps crashing time and time again, check your drive if you have the space, i ran out of space and it kept failing with no obvious explanation as to why. just a thing to check, you need about 100gb for the current version at the time of this message according to the staff in the discord.
The only problems that I have with Skyrim VR are that I can't just grab a weapon off the ground and use it without first putting it in my inventory, while there is a mod that makes NPCs react to you when you touch them with your hands or whatever item you are hold the rest of the world won't react to you (hands still go through walls and both dynamic and static objects, also weapons don't react with the player and phase through each other) and you can't physically pull levers/pull chains/pull handles/push buttons/open doors
Claiming that this is a "one click installation" isnt even an exaggeration. its a flat out lie lol this shit took me most of my day to get running and even now that it is running, every time i start i get a new error code or issue and it crashes after about 3 minutes
Pre-wabbajack, this would have taken you like 2 weeks of research/download/adjusting load orders/reading forums to iron out bugs, list goes on. This is about as "one-click" as overhauling skyrim will ever get. You don't really understand how easy you have it and should be thankful for this amazing guide
I just got the Kat VR and have been trying to get Skyrim to work with it. The Treadmill worked right off the bat, but the modding was hours of work. A lot of people out there are saying Wabbajack makes it idiot-proof but wow, this is not easy. You made a very complicated process as easy as possible, but I'm shocked that people think this process is easy or straightforward.
"MCM menu" bothered me more than it should, but otherwise I highly appreciate the detail you go into in this video. I recently got back into VR after Blade & Sorcery got it's 1.0 release and I felt myself itching to play some Skyrim, this was exactly the kind of video I was looking for!
You've obviously never modded skyrim by hand before. Before wabbajack this would have taken you like 2 weeks to research/download/adjusting load orders/reading forums to iron out bugs, list goes on.
Downloaded the modlist, and it just immediatly crashed the moment I started up skyrim VR via Mod Organiser it just send me to the game and then it immediatly turned my screen black and the game crashed on my PC
there wasn't a crash log or anything like that, it just stopped working it may be releted to me using Steam Link on skyrim VR I don't know tho, anyway I uninstalled the modlist because no skyrim VR modlists work for me anyway
For anyone thinking about getting this I highly suggest paying for a month of Nexus premium then cancelling it. By using the free version you have to manually click download hundreds of times which really pushes back how long this takes to setup. With premium... boom it was done in around 1.5 to 2 hrs for me.
I'm having an issue where when I try to select the installation folder. Whenever I set it to the FUS folder, it says that I can't download modlist in game folder even though FUS is supposed to be in the skyrim vr folder. Anyone know how to fix this?
Just popping on to say thanks! I was a bit 50/50 to whether or not to do this. I didn't take your advise about buying the monthly and retreated it!! Took me 12 hours to download! -_- but its absolutely 100% worth it. I've not had this much fun playing Skyrim in years. Its so good! Thank you! :D p.s. buy nexus mod manager for the first time. Trust me. Its not worth the time wait.
i agree i also didnt buy and now none of the mods are categorized so now i have to search through every mod one by one to findthe mods hes talking about
it says this for me in the top right of mo2 : • papyrusutil plugin version 2 (PapyrusUtil.dll, PapyrusUtil VR - Scripting Utility Functions) reported as incompatible during query.
Do you actually have to create another steam library to download the game onto? I tried using the tool you linked in the description as I only have one drive and the tool said it was successful, but when I go to steam it shows that I only have one download library.
@@themechanictangerine yes and no, eventually the game was able to run but it made a LOT of things buggy or difficult to get running. You’re better off buying a cheap ssd or hdd.
It's impossible to install it anywhere other than the default folder if you have just one drive now. The steam library setup tool doesn't work anymore. I hope that it doesn't matter...
I used this guide, but for whatever reason it is really struggling to work. Most of the time when I hit run it does nothing, the other half of time it "launches" the game but I can't go into the game or see it in my taskbar, despite it shown as running on steam. I got it to launch right once while doing literally nothing differently, but have not been able to since.
it says my sksevr wont load and that it cant find it. ive reinstalled and it still does this. also the game is VERY dark. and Dyndolod keeps saying its missing papyrus and cannot find master data. i need help ;_;
Problem: Followed the guide here a couple days ago. Had an absolute blast. Tried to play today and realized my pointer was now angled 45 degrees upward when using the game menu. All weapons were turned 45 degrees in hand as well. Losing my mind. Occulus quest 2.
I spent 4 hours to manage the manual download... than I needed to restart my computer.... restarted WJ and all the FUS folder was empty. Such a "great" mod installer... I really want to enhance my Skyrim VR... but come on not again 4 hours of clicking for nothing.
Just pay for premium. It's super easy and worth it. Also, should just continue where you left off. If you did it right, there should be a folder in fus called downloads
@@VirtualPandaVR I tried even the with ModOrganizer, I tried the Panda's pack from Nexus with Wabbajack and FUS as well... It is Not working how you tell in the video. You can tell me I'm a noob, but for example I fallowed the guide how to mod the Ghost Recon Breakpoint to have an FPS view, and it went easily without any problem. I fed up from this Skyrim thing... as I mentioned I tried to install mods one by one... and they are not appearing and available in the game. I wasted days to make it working, for nothing.
Absolutely amazing video, will be following this guide exactly when I get my headset next week. One thing that I noticed is that the sound of the fire was very different to vanilla when you casted it? Is that part of the modlist? Could I turn that off?
hello and thank you for the video, can you share your virtual desktop settings plz ? i have a 4070 with meta quest 3, and it's blury as hell, far far away from what a see in my monitor thank you in advance mate
This did take longer than expected and after messing with the setting a bit my game can atleast run with no frame rate lol but still thank you for this I’ve been wanting to play Skyrimvr with mods cause I saw habie playing it and it seemed so fantasy 😂
I just followed your steps and was able to get it working. I was using my Pimax5KSuper headset. Wow, this is a Brand New experience for me. I just have to get me a more powerful PC my i9-11900K and RTX3090 is struggling to run it smoothly. It works just not perfectly. Maybe, I should try it using my Quest 3 or Quest Pro... Maybe it will run better... Thank you for taking the time to make it so darn simple. 😉👌
i’m playing on a quest 3 but i’m new to vr modding i got the pack installed and it’s running but my game looks super grainy and blurry almost unplayable any tips or whatever?
Oh wow, I never knew about Full body haptic suits haha, this is so awesome and kind of funny. Just out of curiosity, I heard you mention you like to play seated sometimes, so Skryim VR is completely playable seated?
I find the Wabbajack mod to be very unintuitive to use. And when it fails (it always fails) it does not give you much info on what went wrong. I would love to see a SMALL list of mods that a user can input into Vortex themselves to improve Skyrim VR. Like if you had to limit yourself to 20, 30, 40 or 50. EDIT: you have explained how to put the wabbajack exe into a folder, which i have never done before. I will try this.
I defintely had to close and re-open wabbajack twice for it to finish compiling the modlist but once it started downloading the actual mods I had no issues. Was really frustrated for a bit because I was starting to feel like I was going to end up on another 8hr YT vid/ forum post search trying to figure all the mods out. So thankful it worked smoothly
With Fsr 2 i got a black square 😢 And with the werewolf mods like growl, moonlight tales i just gave up; tried many things and patches and nothings works. Or your head is behind the wolf or you are invisible, also it seems some things don't work like power attacks so vainilla wolf with werewolf body that's included in FUS is going to be for the moment.
@@Higgs_1989 I just turned the FSR mod off and it went away and worked fine for me. I know this is old af so you probably already figured it out. I just wanted to post this for anyone else having the same issue

11:30 how do you run them together? Modloader wont start the game for me if I enable Glamur and Vr Vision Reshades at the same time, I can only chose one
Took me a day to study and setting this from the scratch with minimal modding/vr knowledge but its working, now just to learn controls :D ingame text i bit fuzzy but overall game is looking great. thx. There are some visual moving/warping edges/objects is it normal?
Coming from Elysium remastered i love skyrim but for me i caj inly play it so much as combat feels dated but i know vr will change this and this is exactly what i need thank you
@VirtualPandaVR love the vids. I used your video on UVRE to get going on Skyrim VR and it was awesome. Do you like this modpack more than the UVRE? If so, any major reason?
OK, I researched a bit, and I now belive it's more correct to say it should be installed outside program files. I changed my Steam default install location as soon as I installed Steam on my PC, years ago. All my Steam games are loaded on a seperate drive to my C. So I'm guessing I already did what is required to let mods run without UAC concerns.
You said the download would be around 4 GB. I just deleted the files after not being able to launch the game and finding another video thats more up to date and the file size was 198GB. No wonder I had to keep deleting games off my drive
I appreciate the help.. It was always a few hour ordeal me trying to download a bunch of mods and come to find some of them are incompatible.. with this list i was able to get skyrim vr fully modded and the only real time spent was waiting for the 300 or so mods to download (not long)
Ok I know this mod pack seems promising and fyi never in my life did I get a "mod pack" for Skyrim but all the steps im hearing sounds complicated as hell and confusing like I haven't even gotten to the 6th or maybe 5th time stamp and im already lost then again this looks like it can't use vortex to upload mods to Skyrim but...yeah to complicated for me... anyone else agree?
It's crazy simple. Just open your PC and follow step by step. It's way simpler than it sounds. Literally just downloading a few things and then deleting any old mods. After that it's a one click install

So yeah idk how they got a number like 358. My best modded experience ever was 106 on Oblivion and even that was kinda overkill.
Happy New Year🎉
My personal list is at over 1200. The number can get pretty high when you start including retextures and other small improvements to the overall look
u are tweaking and obviously very new to modding this is not alot at all
@@akaricodane401 Been modding for almost 10 years now. But hey I'm sure you know more since you're on the same guide video as I am.
You're tweaking if you need that many mods to enjoy the game lol. I took over 100 out of FUS day one. All these modpacks are outdated as of 3 weeks ago anyways.
what happened 3 weeks ago that made them all outdated?@@ssheeessh
So, just for people like me who might of buggered it and wondered why it keeps crashing time and time again, check your drive if you have the space, i ran out of space and it kept failing with no obvious explanation as to why. just a thing to check, you need about 100gb for the current version at the time of this message according to the staff in the discord.
followed this guide to a T and all I got was pixelly and blurry visuals on anything more than 2 feet away
Nice! Thank you. I've been wanting to dive in but everyone talks about it but leaves info out. Thank you!
Thanks bro! Super helpful guide with detailed explanations to all those different options!
The only problems that I have with Skyrim VR are that I can't just grab a weapon off the ground and use it without first putting it in my inventory, while there is a mod that makes NPCs react to you when you touch them with your hands or whatever item you are hold the rest of the world won't react to you (hands still go through walls and both dynamic and static objects, also weapons don't react with the player and phase through each other) and you can't physically pull levers/pull chains/pull handles/push buttons/open doors
im sure these mods are coming soon if not already here, id look it up
Claiming that this is a "one click installation" isnt even an exaggeration. its a flat out lie lol this shit took me most of my day to get running and even now that it is running, every time i start i get a new error code or issue and it crashes after about 3 minutes
How did you get it to work? I am considering buying a C2 core, but I would reqlly like to use mods with skyrim
Ty so much! Finally got this on Steam summer sale this year and am ready to mod tf up xD
"MCM menu" bothered me more than it should, but otherwise I highly appreciate the detail you go into in this video. I recently got back into VR after Blade & Sorcery got it's 1.0 release and I felt myself itching to play some Skyrim, this was exactly the kind of video I was looking for!
I’m now ready to go to Skyrim THANK YOUUU
This guide is CLUTCH. Thanks brother.
I legit spent 2 hours installing and clicking 342 times cause premium is unavailable, was still easy cant wait to play it
very great video bro lots of extra tips and very informative and easy to understand awesome work much appreaciated
Great tutorial! Maybe I will finally play this masterpiece in VR and with mods.
" its just a one click easy installation " *makes a 30 minute tutorial video because it is definitely not just one click installation*
You've obviously never modded skyrim by hand before. Before wabbajack this would have taken you like 2 weeks to research/download/adjusting load orders/reading forums to iron out bugs, list goes on.
@@detroitpistonsplayoffshe has no clue what goes into modding and getting them to work with eachother.
Downloaded the modlist, and it just immediatly crashed the moment I started up skyrim VR via Mod Organiser it just send me to the game and then it immediatly turned my screen black and the game crashed on my PC
there wasn't a crash log or anything like that, it just stopped working it may be releted to me using Steam Link on skyrim VR I don't know tho, anyway I uninstalled the modlist because no skyrim VR modlists work for me anyway
been tryin to fix it for a long time but it just doesn't work
For anyone thinking about getting this I highly suggest paying for a month of Nexus premium then cancelling it. By using the free version you have to manually click download hundreds of times which really pushes back how long this takes to setup. With premium... boom it was done in around 1.5 to 2 hrs for me.
been dooing it manually for about 2 hoours now im sllowly losing mmy sanity
buy some internet mate dafuq. took me 20 mins of downloading at 23mb/s average
Breh just give them your money lmao this is why we can't have nice things SMH 🤦♂️
but its absolutely 100% worth it.
I've not had this much fun playing Skyrim in years. Its so good!
Thank you! :D
p.s.
buy nexus mod manager for the first time. Trust me. Its not worth the time wait.
i agree i also didnt buy and now none of the mods are categorized so now i have to search through every mod one by one to findthe mods hes talking about
honestly, just pay for nexus premium, its been 3 hours and im still not done downloading, the speed cap is killer
Great video! This helped a lot! Thank you for your time and effort to share this knowledge.
I use another mod list but this helps so much explaining the specific mods so thank you!
it says this for me in the top right of mo2 : • papyrusutil plugin version 2 (PapyrusUtil.dll, PapyrusUtil VR - Scripting Utility Functions) reported as incompatible during query.
hey man, i cannot get this working. I've tried for hours and no dice, I'm just not computer savvy
Do you actually have to create another steam library to download the game onto? I tried using the tool you linked in the description as I only have one drive and the tool said it was successful, but when I go to steam it shows that I only have one download library.
I'm running into the same problem. have you been able to find a solution?
@@themechanictangerine yes and no, eventually the game was able to run but it made a LOT of things buggy or difficult to get running. You’re better off buying a cheap ssd or hdd.
@@StiffBenson yeah, i thought so. Thank you man!
@2:40, what does that mean for Virtual Desktop? I usually have it set to Ultra or Godlike. There is no "100%" or "Normal" or "default".
It's impossible to install it anywhere other than the default folder if you have just one drive now. The steam library setup tool doesn't work anymore. I hope that it doesn't matter...
Did it matter? I’m having trouble using the tool.
@@jacobsarver4730 I’ll let you know when I’m done setting it up
did it matter?

I used this guide, but for whatever reason it is really struggling to work. Most of the time when I hit run it does nothing, the other half of time it "launches" the game but I can't go into the game or see it in my taskbar, despite it shown as running on steam. I got it to launch right once while doing literally nothing differently, but have not been able to since.
it says my sksevr wont load and that it cant find it. ive reinstalled and it still does this. also the game is VERY dark. and Dyndolod keeps saying its missing papyrus and cannot find master data.
i need help
;_;
the skyrim music in the background just give me more motivation to play this game hahahaha
Problem:
Followed the guide here a couple days ago. Had an absolute blast.
Tried to play today and realized my pointer was now angled 45 degrees upward when using the game menu. All weapons were turned 45 degrees in hand as well. Losing my mind. Occulus quest 2.
Appreciate the guide brother 👍
@@tigerhat6333 I hate to say it, but you are definitely doing something wrong. Follow the guide exactly, and it works 100% of the time.
Absolutely amazing video, will be following this guide exactly when I get my headset next week. One thing that I noticed is that the sound of the fire was very different to vanilla when you casted it? Is that part of the modlist? Could I turn that off?
hello and thank you for the video,
can you share your virtual desktop settings plz ?
i have a 4070 with meta quest 3, and it's blury as hell, far far away from what a see in my monitor
thank you in advance mate
Same issue
This did take longer than expected and after messing with the setting a bit my game can atleast run with no frame rate lol but still thank you for this I’ve been wanting to play Skyrimvr with mods cause I saw habie playing it and it seemed so fantasy 😂
SkyrimSE.exe cannot be found. I have found nobody else who has had this issue. I'm losing my mind. It's been weeks. I still have not found a solution.
one click install 😆 nice tutorial !
i’m playing on a quest 3 but i’m new to vr modding i got the pack installed and it’s running but my game looks super grainy and blurry almost unplayable any tips or whatever?
Oh wow, I never knew about Full body haptic suits haha, this is so awesome and kind of funny. Just out of curiosity, I heard you mention you like to play seated sometimes, so Skryim VR is completely playable seated?
i upgraded from 3070 to 4090. and everything else in my pc. just to play skyrim Vr on my quest 3.
if i only have one drive but have steam installed outside of program files am i ok to ignore that step 4:10-4:40
what mod are you using while showcasing the vrik mod? like, what map is that and what is it called?
Realm of lorkham. It's the alternate start that comes with this list
If you follow these steps exactly, it will work for FUS.
@@VirtualPandaVR Using your video as a guide I got Tahrovin working. Thank you. Like really. Thank you.
So thankful it worked smoothly
i hit play button to start donwloading fus on wabba and nothing happens i need help @@bigbastard7582
With Fsr 2 i got a black square 😢
And with the werewolf mods like growl, moonlight tales i just gave up; tried many things and patches and nothings works. Or your head is behind the wolf or you are invisible, also it seems some things don't work like power attacks so vainilla wolf with werewolf body that's included in FUS is going to be for the moment.
Did you find a fix for the black box issue with FSR? Getting the same issue, and nothing is working !
@@Higgs_1989 I just turned the FSR mod off and it went away and worked fine for me. I know this is old af so you probably already figured it out. I just wanted to post this for anyone else having the same issue
@@bigbastard7582 Thanks for the comment mate, my issue was actually a shader being applied in the FUS mod list, can't remember which one, but disabling it sorted this issue for me.
Does everyone following this guide truly have a premium account on Nexus?? I work in engineering/revit modelling and this guide is more complicated/has more steps than my whole bloody job. Definitely DEFINITELY not "simple"
Skyrim vr is my favorite game ever
Coming from Elysium remastered i love skyrim but for me i caj inly play it so much as combat feels dated but i know vr will change this and this is exactly what i need thank you
@VirtualPandaVR love the vids. I used your video on UVRE to get going on Skyrim VR and it was awesome. Do you like this modpack more than the UVRE? If so, any major reason?
No. I don't. But UVRE isn't available anymore.... which is why I made my own modpack that I believe is better than UVRE (check the pinned comment)
For my better understanding, why should we install outside Steams default folder? What does it change?
Also not trying to sound like a hater I can agree this method could work... it's just a bit hard for me to understand all the steps even the first 4
It's crazy simple. Just open your PC and follow step by step. It's way simpler than it sounds. Literally just downloading a few things and then deleting any old mods. After that it's a one click install
