    I'm getting one - I have the bias fx2 elite already. Can't wait to try it out!

    That kind of setup works best when it’s hooked up to an effects loop.

    cheers for the overview. So no dreaded 'ipad cannot power the usb device' messages when plugging directly in? And do you notice much extra drain on the ipad's battery when using the Riff? thanks - John.

    • @PeteBreen

      Thanks John. No error message when plugging in directly to the iPad and I don't notice any real difference in battery drain.

      @@PeteBreen Cheers Pete. I've put an order for one in. Have been using a Roland Duo Capture EX22 which does work and runs of AA's, though it chews through a set of batteries in 3 - 4 hours.

    Thanks for the information. Is it possible to play along with and record to iphone all at the same time? Now that "shorts" are a thing, I need a better way to get audio into my iphone than capturing the room sound through the iphone built-in mic. Thanks for any info you may provide.

    • @PeteBreen

      Thanks for watching! You can play along and record with any native iPhone tools/apps like GarageBand, etc. I’ll try to pop together a video this week about it.

    Great video. Can I use Bias FX2 Mobile inside other iPhone/iPad applications? Or it can be only used in a standalone way? I want to use it to record in the Indaband App and I want to be sure that it works before buying it?

    • @PeteBreen
      @PeteBreen  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi Javier. FX2 Mobile, to the best of my knowledge, is a standalone application which can't be "called" by other mobile apps. On a PC/Mac, I can access the models from within other applications like Pro Tools, Audacity, Reaper, etc.

      @@PeteBreen Thank you for the information. I have investigated a further more and there is a technology in iOS called Inter-App Audio that allows this but it must be supported by both applications (origin and destiny ones).

    Any feedback issues while using it on the iPad?
    I got a IRig2 with Biasfx and had nothing but problems using it because of feedback/static issues.
    Really wish the spark amp would just run Biasfx.

    Looks like it has a 1/4" out - could I plug it into my guitar amp after going through bias FX, for example?

    • @PeteBreen
      @PeteBreen  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching! As long as your amp has a line-in jack - you should be fine. It would be taken in like any other effects unit through the amp.

    How’s the latency when playing in real time? I know we can’t hear latency under a certain amount but I certainty feel it when I’m playing. Thanks!

    • @PeteBreen

      Almost imperceptible as a direct-in, but as you add effects it is slightly noticeable. Maybe 1-2ms.

      Thanks for watching David - they're all essentially variations on the same theme - portable DAC's. The RIFF does interact very well with the BIAS FX software.

      So nothing new then? It cannot act without a device phone/pad/computer attached.
      I wish they would have done like a pocket Spark, pure headphone amp that can act as an audio interface. At least with limited features like 4 presets and the rest needs to be done via phone or so.

    • @PeteBreen
      @PeteBreen  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately, yes. It gets power supplied by USB, so you're out of luck without something to plug into. I'm with you on the pocket Spark idea...own a Spark as well.

    Hi. What generation iPad do you have?

    • @jamesbonin1277
      @jamesbonin1277 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Unfortunately the complete portability argument falls down if you have an iPad built after 2018. The connector they provide with it is a connector Apple stopped using in October 2018. On the usability side it’s really poor and obviously down to a great deal they got from their Chinese suppliers on connectors they had to shift!
