      Andrew Plays Music absolutely. iPad, iRig, guitar, headphones and you’re good to go. It’s also great for learning songs as you can play along to Spotify and Ultimate Guitar Pro tabs.

      Hi. So all I need to record my guitar is an iRig and my iPad? Can you import tracks onto garage band, such as recorded drums? I'm literally looking for an interface that I can use, cheaply, to record guitar on the drums I record on my electronic set. I also heard with a different USB cable, you can use the Spark amp instead of BiasFX? Is this true? I don't want to spend money on an iRig if it doesn't work good. Thanks in advance

      @@andymcmillan9260 Garage band you can import drum tracks. And yes to the iRig and Ipad. I don't know about this Spark amp though. Garage band is a pretty simple DAW. But it gets the job done. Its got some drum samples already in it and a bunch of other instruments etc.

      @@andymcmillan9260 On ipad air 2 ios 15 I get a bad sound with bias fx 1, amplitube, and garageband using irig 1. But I did get it to work perfectly with tonebridge probably because it is lighter on cpu usage.
      Though I did connect a toy amp to the irig using a simple adapter which you are not supposed to do because u get feedback. Guess what I got feedback, but luckily my caline power supply has a di box so I passed the signal through there and then the feedback was gone.

    Love the BIAS FX 2, but few concerns.
    1. How do you connect guitar to the iPad
    2. How will it all sound through the internal iPad speakers? or what if you add a bluetooth speaker to the mix?
    and dammit what about Android :(

    • @dventura
      @dventura 4 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hey Ozzy. I use IRig from IK Multimedia, this little box has a headphone output and amp output to connect, so you can use it with any speaker.

    • @faethe000
      @faethe000 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need a USB interface. David mentioned the irig. They're good. On the cheaper end, you can get a Behringer for around $35. You need either headphones or external speakers to listen. You CAN use the ipad's speakers, but it'll sound awful.
      As for android, you can't use this for that. Android has too much latency to make this kind of thing work properly. The only app that works for android (by coding its own USB engine inside the app) is Deplike. If you insist on sticking with android, give that app a try.

    • @AndGuitar
      @AndGuitar 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You would simply use an audio interface. You can pick up something like a used Apogee Jam or variant from IK Multimedia on the cheap for probably less than $40 USD. I personally think the Apogee interfaces are cleaner and produce less noise but honestly it shouldn’t matter much. If you only want to hear sounds via the iPads speakers, the Apogee will be all that you need. Using a Bluetooth speaker wont work as your iPad will see that as the sound device and will takeover the lightning interface for audio. What I used to do was use the headphone out to a portable amp or effects return etc. If you want to integrate with an existing amp and or reamp etc., the IK interfaces may be more beneficial to you as some of their interfaces support amp / midi connections. Regarding Android, I don’t think you will see these applications ported to that platform anytime soon due to the horrendous latency with the OS. Another plus to the interfaces is that most are macOS and PC supported.

      @MichaelZola 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You need the camera adapter with charging port. I’m so bummed I can’t use my original irig any more. When I upgraded my phone I went with the scarlet solo. You have to keep your charging cable in to power your phone. The battery still drains slowly, so the fast charger is another purchase for keeping you going for awhile.
      Just way too many things vs the simple irig. I miss the old setup.

      I had a hard time understanding too, and I've recorded voice overs for movies, but everyone acted like this was common sense. you have to get a USB audio interface, it's like a little amp that turns the guitar tone digital, the sound is carried to the computer with usb, but then the audio comes out computer speakers. Any decent computer speakers will work, I have the desktop version of this and it sounds amazing.

    • @juanmanuelcorrea7673
      @juanmanuelcorrea7673 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's a perpetual issue from EMI. The only workaround is getting humbuckers or noise cancelling pickups, but then you might not like it and it's expensive. It might be a grounding issue, but there isn't anything you can do as far as grounding.
      Really the only realistic fix is noise gate...

I’m downloading it right now as I type this and hope I’m wrong. Anyway I’m not buying anymore Positive Grid apps until they get rid of the annoying ‘your iPad is not connected to an audio interface’ popup warning that can’t be turned off, it happens even when my RME Babyface Pro is hooked up, but I use bias a lot for keyboard stuff too which doesn’t need an audio interface. I bought an IPAD only to use it with applications like PG or synths. If you wanne go to this road, eg. for homerecording or in my case just reduce the cable chaos in the livingroom :-) only the Apple stuff works good. And you need an audio adapter. IK ore one of the more feature rich systems. If you don't have this stuff buy their new amp. Less or more the same features and no need to buy and expensive iPhone or iPad.

    • @AndGuitar
      @AndGuitar 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      You shouldn’t have any latency using the iPad , it might be your interface being the source of latency. Try lowering or raising your sample rate and find the sweet spot for recording.

    What interface did you use?

  • @BobEstremera
    @BobEstremera 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I'm totally new to using computers for plugging a guitar into. My frame of reference is plugging my guitar into an amp and fiddling with knobs. But I am getting increasingly interested in using Bias FX 2. My understanding is that I can get an audio interface, ie Focusrite, plug my guitar and earphones into that - plug the interface into my computer in which Bias FX is loaded and have all those amps and pedals to experiment with through the earphones. Is that correct? I don't think I need a separate DAW but I might be wrong. But if I want to hear the guitar through a speaker, I understand studio monitors like KRK Rokit 5 or 7 would be what I need. Do I need a pair or will a single unit work? Will a single monitor sound like crap or will it be OK?
    Thanks

    • @j.a.s.1416
      @j.a.s.1416 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Bob saw no one hasn't replied yet. I'm extremely new in plugins, but from my Spark amp I noticed that to get that "Full" sound/audio quality you want a pair of speakers not just one. Normally outputs have a left and a right. On the end if not a left and right they have a headphone jack you plug into your computer or audio interface Hopefully that helps.

    - Overloud (June 8, 2020): Currently the app doesn’t support IAA nor AUv3, however we are working on it and in the next weeks we will release a new version (same app tho) that include the AUv3. So you won’t need to purchase it again.

    Positive Grid has totally screwed themselves. They put out an amazing product with the Spark amp. But they couldn’t match the demand for the product. People waiting 6-8 months for this amp. That is bad, but then, they keep advertising the amp everywhere and they still can’t meet the demand. Seems like a poorly ran company.

      If you buy a product of PG you must accept that their customer support is a crap. Look into their forums before buy. A lot of issues no fix. Let’s get one thing clear this is great but all in app purchases and pedals do not transfer over from fx 1 though they state they do. For example treble booster, octaves, auto wah. Also many of the basic pedals eg digital reverb, fuzz, reverb rack that came free with fx 1 etc are gone. You need to buy the basic licence to get these back and to get functionality with Bias Amp 2 and Bias Pedal to work. Really Positive Grid should have allowed customers to get everything they purchased previously by getting customers to to pay a flat rate. Really disappointed.

    Bias isn't bad, but they do a lot of marketing and they pay a lot of artists a lot of money to do demos of their products only for no one to use them afterward. And it's for a reason. There are so many plugins and amp sims that are far easier to use and they get way better tones. Bias is extremely difficult to get decent tones out of, and I'm not the only person who thinks this. If you guys want some good amp sims, look into the Neural DSP or STL Tones plugins. They're far better.
