  • We tend to run into a problem as drummers.
    We love to learn cool patterns and interesting combinations. Some of the best ones are rudiments.
    So we spend a lot of time learning rudiments; but then we struggle to actually use them.
    One of those is the paradiddle. If you're new to those, you're probably wondering why you needed to learn it in the first place.
    I remember learning paradiddles and wondering (for quite a while) how I was supposed to actually use them on the drum set. It wasn't until a teacher showed me that I actually had a real way to implement them.
    Here's what he showed me, plus some of my own additions :)
    If you need a way to practice paradiddles (and a number of other very useful rudiments), you need to learn Interpretive Reading. Get it today: www.natezynski...

    Solid demonstration, thank you. Love reviewing these tasty fills, you are fabulous. Veteran drummer for over 50 years and I use many of the fills you just demonstrated, but of course, much shorter versions in the middle of a tune. I use paradiddle fills in flowing tunes like "Longtrain Runnin'" and nearly all Allman Brothers tunes.

      Thank you so much for your kind words!
      I love me some good paradiddles, and I love me some Allman Brothers. I bet it sounds great!

    I started playing this pattern about 5 years ago and love it! Evan’s 56 on the rack toms?

    • @Natezynski
      @Natezynski  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I remember first learning it, it blew my mind at the time!
      Yes! I sometimes repurpose the rack Toms as a rack and floor Tom for a make-shift hip gig setup. I use those heads for the warmer tone (since the drums are so much smaller). I had a jazz gig recently and decided to leave those heads on for the video 😎
