I always teach my students "the" six stroke roll+all inversions in ternary cymbal/comping, they have to shift to 16ths as a snare/tom roll and resolve with a normal paradiddle. Works magic. Displacing/stretching/shortening/adding kicks with RLRRLL in sixtuplets is really nice to be able to stick to a climax for just a bit longer in solos as it's quite easy to hold. I'll start telling my students that this is a paradiddle diddle as well though! I got some blank spots in terminology as my teacher just taught me to phrase. I didn't worry too much about rudiments until I had to do 10 wilcoxons in my technical exam😆
30 years self taught deummer here. You are an excellent drumming instructor. I wish I had someone like you to show me this stuff decades ago. I'm looking forward to using your lessons to tighten up my skills. You explain how to use rudiments on a kit like few know how to, and you know your instrument better than 99% of the flashy youtubers. Plus, you got a nasty goove, dude. Thank you.
I love you man!!! I've been playing this rudiments for a long time, is one of my 3 favourite rudiments... But today you brought to my mind some new ideas and I appreciate that! Thanks A LOT!
You are truly getting it! The paradiddles with that extra diddle reminds me of Steve Gadd. Every note on those rudiments when moved away from the snare will make a new rhythm.
Spanish musicians have a say about equipment that literally translates as "It's not about the arrow, but the Indian" (freaking racist, but it gets the point across). You are the epitome of this. Kudos on being an amazing drummer and teacher.
have to say, you're one of the best drum teacher out there, thank you for this video... Could you do a teaching on the application of Paradiddle and how to cleanly orchestrate it around the drum kit🙏
Paradiddle diddle. That’s it. The 1st 2 notes pronounced make it a way easier to play fast…. I didn’t find a way to incorporate it into the music I play, but it s a very creative one😎✌🏻👌🏼
Swing shift triplet is a great exorcise to help with coordination and flow. A normal and traditional triplet used in drum solos, but, constantly shifting the lead hand from right to left resulting in the base drum note in between the two left or right hand notes. And with the two left or right notes as double notes from right to left. This exercise can also be done in a paradiddle pattern, which may be harder to learn at first, but eventually creates enough flow and coordination that makes it as easy, or hard as the regular swing shift triplet. For my experience. This exorcise will definitely expand one's coordination and flow significantly.

Start slow with a Metronome and gradually increase the speed. For example: start at 50bpms once you’re comfortable with that move the tempo up 5 clicks or 10 clicks. Do a little bit at a time. 30 minutes a day will work wonders for you. Good luck
And here I thought it would be the six stroke roll that blows listeners minds😂 P.S. Take it first note and put it on the end so it’s displaced by one note. Six stroke roll is the paradiddle-diddles twin sister 👍 Kieth Carluck: Study the greats but that solo with the black and white striped shirt🥰 Other than Bonzo Kieth is the only other drummer I wished I could play like. @@s4lroachclip it’s all even linear drumming. I treat the diddles as ghost notes or as Keith says a roll. But regardless how you think of it dynamically it need to be quieter than the two singles.
See what always confused me with this is the idea of the base paradiddle is RLRR-LRLL, so I thought ok the diddle diddl has to be RLRRLL-LRLLRR creating three strokes in a row with the R and L's I thought no way this is what it is. So what you showed me is it repeats RLRRLL I suppose for the purpose of dexterity I will have to also play the opposite hands LRLLRR as well, if not together. What i want to know is are you playing 6 notes over one 1/4 note space? OR every 1/8th note space? Is it 32nd note triplets, or are you actually doing 64th note triplets?

Paradise is just one accent on the first one while accent on the the first two note make it six strokes roll

What metronome do you use
Pro Metronome
what metronome app do you use?
Wats d meaning of the arrows in indication
It’s the ascent meaning hit harder on that note
The arrows above the Sticking notes indicates the notes that are accents. (louder notes)

Paradiddle-diddle is RLRRLL
Six Stroke Roll is RLLRRL

Learn to practice with the metronome. Start slow and speed up but do not sacrifice speed for speed and clean.
There are many white drummers who do this as well.....
