Thank you, Anna. That warms our hearts to hear that and is one of the reasons we started this channel. For our memories but also to share with others. Super glad to have you along on the journey. 😊
@@bigtruckbigtravels I really like the idea of pulling a rig with an HDT but not sure I need to pull a 40+ foot 5th wheel around the country. Would really like to get the HDT though.
Awesome! Thank you, Kathy! You're a sick woman if you want MORE of our videos! 😆 🤣 😂 We're so grateful to be able to share our experiences and to have you along on the journey. 😊
The windmills are an eyesore. Half don't function, and ooze oil down their sides. Loved everything else. Palm Springs is great this time of year. Thanks for sharing.
As a person who lives at the western foot of Mt. San Jacinto, thank you for showcasing my home ❤ You always do such a lovely job of editing your videos too! I’ve stayed at the Thousand Trails in Idyllwild.. it boasts the highest elevation swimming pool 😂 thank you for your efforts.. always appreciated.
Hi guys, I last commented when you were at Tangle Lakes in Alaska as I spent six years in Fairbanks in the military. I had hoped to meet you in Quartzite but I didn’t see you at the Big Tent when I was there but I did say hi to Jim and Kelly whom I met in Montana last summer. You drove the Palms to Pines scenic byway and were at my camping stomping ground of Thousand Trails Idyllwild. Since I live 42 miles from there, that is my location to go when it’s 100+ in Menifee CA. This time of year, over half the campground is closed as they winterize it. Your rig is way too big even in the summer. I see larger tow behinds and small Class A’s trying to fit and it’s tough at best. Your Class C would fit however. Have fun in Death Valley.
Thanks, Mark. Sorry to have missed you in the Q. We came to that same conclusion on Idyllwild once we saw it... no way would we fit! Beautiful area and I'll bet it's nice in the summer!
I held my breath turning that corner 😮 nice to see you open door for Sondra…I take it Sondra doesn’t enjoy hikes as much as you do?? Beautiful episode…thanks for taking us along … until next time 🇨🇦 ❤
Although I’m sorry to not see Joshua Tree, doing things you hadn’t done before should always be priority. I enjoyed seeing some of the prep it takes to move locations. That’s a lot of work and I’m sure you didn’t show 1/2 of it. The Palms to Pines scenic highway was great and looks like my kind of drive. As always, thanks for taking us along and sharing you time and talent. P.S. I wasn’t able to avoid Covid. My husband shared before he knew he had it. Good news is we are pretty much over it and it was a fairly mild case. Take care and I will look forward to seeing Death Valley.
Thanks, Christy and glad to hear it was a mild case. We'll get to Joshua Tree again but just not in the cards for this year...maybe. 🤣 We didn't show everything on the prep to travel but it's fun and we enjoy travel days.
No kidding! That's almost a goal now is to get to temps nice enough for her to shed the parka but not too hot where she still wants to be outside! 😆 Thank you for watching the channel.
It takes a lot of work to live a 'carefree' life! Another great video, the quality is outstanding. Wish I could try out some Chester's chicken! As usual I'm looking forward to your next offering. Take care! 🙂
😆 Carol, we never thought a carefree lifestyle could be sooo much work! But we enjoy it! Wouldn't change a thing! Thank you for being with us each week!

Thanks, Laurel. It's not work yet, we enjoy this lifestyle and the pace. When it starts to "feel" like work then we'll slow down. Until then, buckle up, we've got more places to visit!
Absolutely one for our “gotta do” list… that Palms to Pines was awesome! Photography was fantastic! Loved that Jack Rabbit! Great job both of you 👍🏼 Thanks for sharing! Enjoying every moment! Safe travels ❤️~Wendy
Glad you liked it!! We thought it would be a different way to start and also show everyone what we do with our unique setup. Not for everyone but we enjoy it. Appreciate your time watching the channel as always.
Hey, Brent, G'Day from up north! We want to get down under one of these days. They'll run a train on occasion up here but only in a few states on certain roads. We want to get a caravan and run some tracks in Australia to Uluru and all over the coast. Thanks for subscribing.
Glad you like them! It was a little tighter turn than we anticipated but it all worked out just fine. Thanks for watching and excited to have you along on the journey.
@@bigtruckbigtravels You all have seen more of Alaska than I have. I’ve live up there most of my life. We would take 6 wk’s off every summer. 3 wks we would explore places we hadn’t been. Then the last 3 wks we would fly out to the Continental US. And explore places we haven’t been before. Plus visit family we didn’t know. Lots of fun. But way out of our comfort zone.

Thank you very much for the kind words 😊. Really appreciate your time watching the channel. 😃 Hmmm... more than one a week... does that come under "too much of a good thing"?!? 😆 🤣
Beautiful video, drone videos and pictures like a movie. Even a realistic Earth quake scene at the San Andreas Fault 😂. We also prefer hiking up. Downwards, especially with our big dogs on a leash can be challenging. Safe travels!
Thanks 👍J&A! I'll bet your "visit" was not in a car for a tour! Appreciate you taking the time to watch the channel. Stay safe while traveling. See you down the road!
Beautiful scenery… made me a wee bit homesick. Although we didn’t live on that side of the mountain (Lake Arrowhead) you were able to catch the beauty of the San Bernardino Mountains and San Jacinto Mountains. Safe travels can’t wait to see what is in store next.
Jackhammers……LOL……Maybe one day I’ll get you in a race truck. Enjoy the weather !!!!……Our 3 days of winter is over in Livingston. Hello heat and humidity……already.
One day...that would be an experience. Heat and humidity already?!? That's a little early...even for Livingston! LOL...Sondra kept calling it Jackhammers all day! It was hilarious. Thanks
Ok, I found your page a few weeks back. Now I am through with all of your videos. Thanks for sharing, it gives me a chance to see areas I will never get to. I noticed on your "to do" list I saw the UP of Michigan. A lot of beautiful sights there, but make sure you get to Northern, and Western areas of the lower as well. I would suggest coming into the UP from Wi,. or Mn., and working East. Copper Harbor has some beautiful sights, but not sure you want to take your rig up that highway. Going East across the top of the UP, there is plenty to see. Then cross the bridge into the Lower you have Mackinaw City, and Mackinaw Island, and plenty of parks. The entire state has great things to see, Henry Ford Museum, and Greenfield Village, Lighthouses, etc. But I guess the West side has a lot too. Sleeping Bear Dunes, Holland, more lighthouses, parks, and beaches all along the coast. I have to say, visiting the Lower, would be well worth the time it takes.
Thanks Chris. We are going to visit the UP but also the lower part of MI too. We will spend an entire summer (April - September) exploring a state we have little experience with so we're excited for the opportunity. Appreciate the input.
The memories! Used to always take the back way off 15 (Temecula/Anza) to get to the desert from San Diego. And when I lived in PS/PD (yes both cities) I would drive up to Idyllwild with a friend and have lunch at the Mexican restaurant there. I still today, keep abreast of the real estate market in all of those places (my Realtor mind never went away). Now, the big question is (from the time I see you going down the flat stretch but you went back to the hiking) did you go up the big incline (mentioned 3000+ feet) to Yucca Valley and turn left off the main drag towards Barstow? If so, I've traveled that way to Vegas lol. I may have gotten around back in my day. Much like you two now! Great video. Thanks!
You have been around, KB! That's the way we went this time. Beautiful drive... better than 215 through Riverside. Idyllwild was our first visit in that area and we really enjoyed it. We'll be back. Our next stop will be fun... and unusual. Always appreciate your comments each week. Thank you. 😃
Do you use a checklist to ensure all that is needed to be done before leaving? I’m sure I would forget something. Thanks for taking us along on you journeys. 😊
Yes we do but so much now is muscle memory since we're rolling about every 1-2 weeks. The list is good to have and update as we change things based on improvements.
She likes to get a little exercise every now and then! 🤣😂😎 I've never left her...yet! We really appreciate your time watching the channel and are excited to have you along on the journey.
We're going on two years now with the channel. Started it in April 2022. Haven't been in Amarillo in a year so may have been another rig. Thanks for the comment and we appreciate your time watching the channel. 😃
Something different for sure. We try to mix it up to keep you on your toes! You definitely have to be flexible in this lifestyle. Thanks for the comment.
Great video, i was at King of the Hammers, boondocking for 9 days, I was worried about getting stuck in the mud from the rain but it was ok. You are going to some of the place I go all the time. I will be interested on your route to Death Valley and where you stay. I camp every year by Ballarat and Panamint Springs, love that area.
Glad to hear you didn't get stuck. Burning Man was a mess this year... we didn't go but read about it. We've been to Lone Pine but not to Panamint Springs, next time. We're looking forward to this trip. Did you race at KOH? Thank you for watching.
Be careful. I’ve been seeing a lot of stuff about frame flex / failures. Things that have been associated with it is weight, pin boxes, and yes even leaf spring packs. You might want to contact manufacturer and see if 3500 is supported by them. I don’t know.
Hmmm...I think you're thinking of another situation. Our trailer is designed for a pin weight of 13K lbs and our frame is based on a semi-trailer chassis with air suspension and 22.5 tires and over the road running gear. No frame flex here... but also can't haul it with a 3500, that's why we have our Volvo 780 pull it. Appreciate your comments and your time watching the channel. 😃
Sondra got her sunglasses at the Tampa RV Super Show. We can't remember the vendors name but she's trying to find him. No special cameras for the road, just a drone, GoPro and a few Samsung phones. Thank you for the comment 😃 and for your time watching the channel.
Hi there I’m from Idaho and I’ve been watching your channel about two weeks. Love your channel. Love your RVs. I also follow sweet travels and watch on wheels and now switch it up now if you guys have the big trailers and heavy duty trucks, we are retired and in between RVs right now trying to figure out how everybody finances, these big nice rigs and full-time travel, I’m still trying to figure that out but I appreciate you bringing us along. Dennis
We're glad you found us. We retired 8+ years ago to RV fulltime. We budgeted and saved, with no pension and jumped in. Paid cash for everything and hit the road weekly...usually. 23K miles a year to see the USA. Appreciate you subscribing and getting some good info. Thanks
Yeah I have kind of figured people either sold their house and used the cash to pay cash for this life style and or saved well, nice pensions and social security checks! Do you have a house or a home base? Dennis
@rtoadontheroad no. We sold it all and jumped in with both feet. We are always on the road , no RV lot, but we visit our daughter in Alabama and park in her driveway during Christmas holidays.
We've driven by those places so many times on our way back and forth between CA and AZ. We never had time to stop and explore. It's definitely on our list now. Have you taken the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway? That's another item on my bucket list.
Hey Phyllis...that comes under the category of "Stop and smell the roses"! 😂😎 We've been on the Tramway several times and it's a lot of fun and super scenic. There appeared to be too much snow for us up top so we passed on this trip.
Great way to start the “flick”!! A skiff nerve wracking, but great!! On the drone shot as you’re pulling out from the site, we had to rewind as we thought you had left your star link there! (Even though we saw you pack it up! Lol) Sondra, question. Why do you use the piece of wood on the door thresholds and in the shower door. Like, I know what they do, lol, but doesn’t your doors have snaps or hooks? Just curious. Like the cut up pool noodles are super creative!! (By the way, I have a rug on my side of the truck too! My husband just cracked up!)
Thanks. Snaps or hooks for those doors wouldn't work quite right due to their location. They are residential and not really set up to move so we had to get creative to immobilize them. It's worked for 5 years in this trailer so no complaints. Getting out was a bit tighter than we expected... 😆 thanks for your comments. 😊 oh, that would have been terrible to leave Starlink!
Oh man! That was too close on the building and the dumpster!! 😅 I was holding my breath! 🤣
You and me both, Thom. It was a lot closer on both ends than I thought it would be! I really thought I'd have much more room on the dumpster side.
Watching your video’s with all of the scenic shots is like watching a National Geographic special.
Wow! Thank you so much for that huge compliment. We're excited that you enjoyed it and are along on the journey.
Went to Joshua Tree many times and no longer in California now. Great place to see
Fun place, Glenn. It's so unique. We also enjoyed Mojave too!

Hello another great Video thanks for taking me alone
Glad you enjoyed it and excited to have you along on the journey. 😊
Just caught your rig in Las Vegas at the thousand trails rv park
Uh oh! We've been caught! 😆 Appreciate the comments. Thanks.
Hey David and Sondra! Thanks for sharing your adventures! I love going places with you! One video a week is just not enough! 😂
Thank you very much for the kind words 😊. Really appreciate your time watching the channel. 😃 Hmmm... more than one a week... does that come under "too much of a good thing"?!? 😆 🤣
Two a week would be perfect!!
U guys keep polishing ur schtick another great video😊
😆 🤣 thank you very much. We're hoping for a nice shiny big schtick!
Beautiful video, drone videos and pictures like a movie. Even a realistic Earth quake scene at the San Andreas Fault 😂. We also prefer hiking up. Downwards, especially with our big dogs on a leash can be challenging. Safe travels!
Thank you. The quake was fun! I'll bet going downhill with dogs is a challenge... they want to run!
Hi guy's...good video...wind farm...been there toooooo many times....love the drone shots...thanks stay safe...J&A2ofus
Glad you enjoyed it and excited it brought back good memories. Our next stop will be fun...and scenic...and epic! Can't wait!
@@bigtruckbigtravels Exciting..looking forward to seeing it.
Great pics of Southern Cali.
Thank you. Beautiful area. 😍
That was stunning, great video.
Thank you very much! Glad you enjoyed it and excited to have you along on the journey. 😊
I use to help my Dad ‘break down’ their Airstream. I was really interested in what you do. I haven’t been in this part of Cali…..very scenic‼️
Probably less to do on an Airstream...glad you enjoyed it and this part of Calif is really very scenic. We thoroughly enjoyed the drive.
I would shoot for May to October. More things will be open starting in May, and you may catch Fall colors in the U.P. in October.@@bigtruckbigtravels
You have great pariferial there young man! Seasoned....
😆 🤣 Thanks. Always good to have a spotter too!
Also, I wonder if you have forgotten that Sondra is recording and walking and you when too far? An she needed to hike it to reach the semi?!? 😅😅😅
She likes to get a little exercise every now and then! 🤣😂😎 I've never left her...yet! We really appreciate your time watching the channel and are excited to have you along on the journey.
Hello - just a suggestion re hiking up and down - we use one walking stick each - really helps with the knees
Thanks, Margaret. We've used poles before but it's Sondra's toes that get squished! Maybe this new pair of boots will help.
No Stickers?
Sondra checkout Chester’s for Stickers… Vista Point…
Got to see Scottie’s Castle! Great Tour.
When it opens, we will tour it! Thanks
Love watching your channel? 👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks so much, glad you're back each week.
Great 😊
Thank you! Cheers! Glad you could "drop by".
So weird knowing I was traveling those same roads and seeing the windmills and driving up to lake arrowhead not that long ago
Wow, Kelly, it is definitely a small world out there. Safe travels to you.
I just saw you at the loves west in Amarillo didn't know you had a TH-cam channel
We're going on two years now with the channel. Started it in April 2022. Haven't been in Amarillo in a year so may have been another rig. Thanks for the comment and we appreciate your time watching the channel. 😃
If you haven't, you need to hike the 3 miles up Cafe Creek Canyon to the Cafe Creek Falls off Rt 12 near Escalante.
Thank you. We'll make a note of that.
Silly question do you all put on your sun Block before hicking on desert trails really enjoy the show love your equipment you all travel with
Generally, yes, but we'll also bring it with us. The hats help...especially me with no hair! 😆
Thanks for sharing 😊😊😊
Thanks for watching!
😂You made it 8.25 minutes in, and the plans truly changed. You really never did that before, going so long without a word.
Something different for sure. We try to mix it up to keep you on your toes! You definitely have to be flexible in this lifestyle. Thanks for the comment.
Very nice
Thanks. Appreciate the comments.
Great scenery
Thanks. Beautiful area and a great several days.
@@bigtruckbigtravels no I did not race.
I just watching your videos. And the pictures are so beautiful. She ran off and left. You didn’t she?❤❤
Thanks, Nancy. I think she was trying to get back after "leaving me"! 🤣😊😎
Wow a Jack rabbit on the way to Death Valley don’t see them in Nebraska much anymore
I know. It was different... but Sondra always enjoys the wildlife!
23:00 Breathtaking 😃
Thank you. 😃 Glad you enjoyed it.
Love the scenery. Good photography. Do you have cameras that capture you driving down the road? Sondra what type of sunglasses do you wear?
We are always on the road , no RV lot, but we visit our daughter in Alabama and park in her driveway during Christmas holidays.
wow what a beautiful city
We really enjoy it. Great place. Thanks 😄
You should hike the PCT by idywild next time but after the snow melts. Better “ vistas”.
Yes, we were talking about that. We've hiked sections of the PCT around Yosemite and Mt Hood. Always cool. Thanks
Nice Job David
Thanks, Bill. Really appreciate your comments.
